Idk why I haven't heard more about this place. Just ate here for the first time today, delicious! The hook and ladder sandwich was killer, especially since I ordered a small. It was a great size and price. It's clean inside and the service was great. I will totally be back!

We have been trying to find new spots for lunch when in Joplin and found one for sure that we will…read morereturn to. Union Station Deli is a great place for lunch. It is NOT fast food but everyone knows you rarely get good food fast. It has a bit of a 40s vibe with big band music as background. I didn't get our waiter's name but the ticket said Music Man. He is friendly, attentive and stayed busy. I had the Big BLT and onion rings. 4 slices of bacon with garlic mayo on toasted, thick sliced white bread. Plenty to eat and fresh. Excellent sandwich. The onion rings were almost as good as Chicken Annie's. Deb had the Big Dipper and broccoli cheese soup. They both looked delicious and since she didn't have a leftover to take home, I would guess it tasted as good as it looked. I didn't think they were overly busy for 11:30 so help them out and go try it.

The place is cute as a button inside! We were super excited to try this spot out. When looking over…read morethe tasty menu, they have some great names for their sandwiches which is really funny! However, what is not so funny, is that all their sandwiches are one high price of 15.75 which also included things like grilled cheese and fried bologna which is just crazy to me. Now, I got the French Dipper and it was good. However, it was not bursting with flavor so it was a bit disappointing IMO. The onion rings were hand cut, but did not save the day either, luke warm and just alright tasted. Nothing to write home about :(. They did take very good care of us with a tandem wait staff and that was fantastic!!

Service is friendly and professional and the food is ok but just that. not great, and too expensive…read morefor the quality and portions. Today we bought lunch for three and my son got Mac and cheese with his sandwich and I had the chili with mine. My wife got a salad and it seems she had the best thing. Our sandwiches were tasty, but mostly bread. I mean a lot of bread and very little inside. My sandwich was $10 bucks and for that in a rural midwest town I would expect much better. if I had gone to Subway, Firehouse Subs or Jimmy Johns I would have a longer sandwich and easily three times the stuff inside. My son made a point fo complaining about it too. Good tasting sandwich and bread, only far too much bread and next to nothing inside. Over the last year, we have tried them several times from carbide pickup to eating outside or eating inside. The service is consistent and prompt and I have no issues regarding that. However, each time we have ordered several things are unavailable, popular yet ordinary items that any smart manager would have planned better and kept regular staple items in stock. For example they promote an extensive baked potato menu and it all sounds great but twice we came in and they had run out of potatoes! I mean if you were getting low run down to the store and buy a bag, how hard is that. You should never run out of basic menu items unless you have poor management.

I ordered on Door Dash. They didn't send the au jus for the French Dip. When I called they said…read morewhen I come in they will give me a discount. We are just passing thru Joplin. Will not order from here again

Something must be wrong, I can't possibly be the first to review this location. In fact I'm sure I…read moredid a few years ago (what's going on Yelp?). This is a sort of odd Cheesestake, it's not made the traditional way that most Philly's are made so I can't compare it to that, it's a completely different sandwich. But don't let that bother you, it's still a good sandwich. Service is always friendly and they seem to care that you are satisfied which is nice for a mall food court choice. There is also an interesting mix of options, chicken Philly's, bourbon sauce, etc., and really good fries. So what is different? They put things on their sandwich that no self-respecting Philly or even New York deli would ever do to a traditional sandwich. But so what? There are no rules, you can make whatever you want, and whatever people will buy. In their case, they add lettuce, mayo, tomato, and pickles and don't use that nasty cheese sauce that some cheesesteaks have on them. The meat is ok, I always order with extra meat. If I had one complaint it would be that most cheesesteaks are stuffed with chopped and well-seasoned meat. These are more like Steakum meat but still good in their own right. On the side, there are hot sauces, seasonings, parmesan cheese, and vinegar to put on your fries or sandwiches. Its also fun to watch them cook, they all hustle and are working hard to give you a good product, made fresh.

I'm out of town visiting and my door dasher was amazing!! The food was still hot when we got it,…read morehowever the meat in the picture (yes I know but...) the meat we got in our cheesesteaks might as well of been non existent. If you order a cheesesteaks you expect meat. I've heard great things about them but I will definitely have to triple to meat just to half compare to the picture

The spinach artichoke dip came out and was very tasty so we had high hopes for our meals. When Kimmy brought the food out, she forgot my salad. No big deal, I simply asked her for it and she went back to get it. While she was gone, my husband looked down at his plate and realized she brought him chicken Parmesan, not the chicken rustica. We didn't have time to wait for another meal to be made for him, so we got her attention and let her know what had happened. She apologized and took it off the bill. We appreciated that, but we were frustrated because he didn't get to eat an entree. She put the credit card machine down on the table for us to pay. When my husband picked it up to leave the tip, it indicated that the machine had "timed out". We again, got Kimmy's attention and she said that it had already gone through with a tip. My husband explained that he didn't enter a tip and again, she said that was okay because it had already gone through (with the highest tip percentage selected). My husband told her that the experience didn't warrant the highest tip percentage in his opinion, but he was so frustrated that we just got up and left. Very disappointing to say the least.
