Parking on Main St. is m limited; so Parking is better in the back. It is casual but elegant…read more Comfortable seating at tables or along the bar. The Service is outstanding! The Waiter was very warm, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We had draft beer in a chilled glass (not frosty, which I prefer). Appetizers: We got Arancini (see image) and they were slightly over toasted but delicious. Entrees: We chose Pappardelle Bolognese & Manicotti delivered with buttered focaccia bread slices (see image). Both were delicious! Pappardelle pasta was a tad overcooked, and the Manicotti was the Star of the two! The bread is warm sliced fresh focaccia and lightly brushed with butter and a sprinkle of Parmesan. Portions are generous, and we both took leftovers home and we asked for more to-go bread. Summary: Prices are good for the quality, portions and service! Our visit was $51 (before tip) with 4-beers, appetizers and 2-Entrees. So a couple will pay about that much with a comparable restaurant. Restrooms are small but clean. Albeit the men's toilet tank lid is missing(?). Recommended. Would have been a full 5-stars had arancini and pappardelle had not been slightly overcooked. But not enough to send it back. Enjoy!

Wiseguys - Draft Miller Light. I like my beer very very cold, preferably frosted. This was cold and pleasant but could be colder!

When I explained that I was asking where they were from, she had to go find out. Turns out they had Delaware. So the next day we went to have some. I could literally smell them as she approached the table. We asked her to take them back because they smelt horrible. She told us that all oysters smelled horrible. When we denied that she said it might be because the fish truck would be there the next day so they were probably too old. Seriously? Who trains these waitresses? The rest of our order wasn't as we asked but it was ok. Won't be back.

Beer; that's the answer to all this restaurant's woes…read more Just make sure that you're at least three beers in before you order. The food is mostly deep fried and generally undercooked. Obviously, the fryer is under temp or the "Chef" (can you actually call them a chef?) didn't leave the frozen Alaskan Pollack in long enough to warm the center of the fish nuggets inside the fish tacos. It was mushy from under cooking. The baked oysters, described on the menu showed black pepper and parmesan cheese baked to perfection. I wondered if the person preparing them knew that they were supposed to put parmesan cheese on the oysters. The oysters showed up as baked oysters with black pepper and black pepper. If you are wondering if I'm always giving bad reviews? Look at my Applebees and Crabby Bills reviews. The service was lacking in something to be desired. Can you say, house flies? Sheese! Just do us all a favor and make sure you are at least two sheets into the wind before you decide to order.

Went down to Joplin for a colleagues birthday and she mentioned Big Rs had good pie. At that point…read moreI didn't even care what kind of food they offered. When I pulled up the restaurant looked very small. It's not huge by any means, but it's bigger than it seems from outside. When you walk in you're greeted at the hostess stand. And front and center is their cooler full of pies. We were there slightly before noon, and we're seated immediately. The menu has a nice selection without being overwhelming. I decided to try the pulled pork plate with Suzie Qs and Baked beans. The pulled pork was delicious and dipping it in their house bbq sauce made it even better. I wasn't a huge fan of the baked beans, but I can be pretty picky in that regard. The Suzie Qs were seasoned well and fried nicely, but man if that's a half order I'm scared to see a full order. It was already too much for me to finish. I did make sure to leave room for the pie though. They had quite a few varieties to choose from, but I'm a sucker for a key lime and knew I was getting that from the start. It was creamy and tart and I ate the whole thing. Since key lime pie traditionally come with a graham cracker crust, I did steal a bite of my colleagues pastry pie crust and it was SO good. Flaky and light, it melts in your mouth. I would come back for the pie alone, but it doesn't hurt that their BBQ is good too!

I've always been by this place, so today we tried the place out. Usually a good sign, when a place…read morehas to have supplemental parking across the street. But in this case, the place was an overall disappointment. - Best item of the night: the homemade rolls and apple butter. Rolls were absolutely great. - smoked meats: first off, it appears they use some sort of electric smoker. So, the char and flavoring isn't there. Then, everything I had, was well overcooked. Any kind of spice forming a good bark is really missing. - pit beans: these appear to be something like Bush's beans doctored up a tad. - potato salad: This side actually tasted pretty good. However, they have a fine cubed cut to the potatoes etc....so the texture of the potato salad, could throw some people off. White gravy: never seen gravy like this....that was super water-like thin. It didn't taste the worst by any means. But getting a chicken fried steak.....it would be odd....as the gravy lays in the bottom of the plate.....doesn't have that cling or scoop up the gravy, as you eat a bite of chicken fried steak. I wish I had better news to report on this place; but I don't.
