We've been eating here for years, but just now getting around to a review. I LOVE their philly cheese steak. It is not like a typical cheese steak, so please don't think it is. It's a really good beef, cheese & pepper sandwich with marinara sauce. More like an Italian beef sandwich. That said, the meat is tender & tasty, marinara is delish. I add mayo (seems weird but the extra creamy on the bread is really good), tomatoes and Italian dressing. Had one today after a long while and forgot how yummy it is. Delish! Their salads are really good too. All the ingredients are fresh and their dressings are good. They will toss your salad for you which so few places will do--and that makes it so much easier to eat. My son loves their tossed Caesar and I really like their tuna salad when I'm trying to eat low carb. They put a couple of scoops of tuna, whatever toppings you prefer, shaved Parmesan, on chopped romaine. I have them toss with ranch--very tasty low carb meal read more

Been coming here for several years and never been disappointed. Staff are always friendly, subs are bomb! They have daily deals on subs too which is cool and saves a couple bucks. I recently phone ordered two 4 foot party subs and they were great in ensuring everything was on point. Put all the toppings on the side and gave plenty of them. I'd eat here over Subway any day of the week. It's a go to spot for subs! Poor customer service.. not only from the young kids but also from one of the older ladies.. They don't wear gloves when handling the food in the back or grab dirty wet rags.. no one that works there looks like they're enjoying working in that atmosphere.. the food is good but maybe the team members could smile and be a little more courteous, it's a pricey place to have a salad or a sub at and not get good customer service. read more

So I ordered a pastrami sandwich from sub Machine via Postmates, shame on me! It was a 12" pastrami with pickles only, there was more pickles on the sandwich! There was enough pastrami for a 6" sandwich not a 12" I believe this is how these places RIP you off,through these delivery apps. You don't know what you're getting until you actually get it! Best sandwiches in the Av. Do yourself a favor and get the St.Val. heaven in a bun. Meatball,Italian sausage and pastrami. It's so good with tomato onion bell pepper and olives. We won't be back. Starting with phone-in order issues which management is casting on their provider (recently changed, get rid of these clowns) to incomplete orders and a clavier attitude. Many cast this place as a great shop, they've been coming for years, best in the AV. Last time we tried to place an order over the phone, she was placed on hold and never returned, when I asked at the shop upon my arrival, I was told it gets busy and we don't have time to take phone orders, there was no line when I arrived and the shop only had several in the dinning area. another phone-in issue was hang-up after answering which was cast on as a provider problem. On this visit, unable to call-in our order, my wife reported when she called it went directly to voice mail which hasn't been setup yet, I was able to call the shop while at the shop and witnessed several calls while in the shop. Well not so much, just tolerant customers, I used to think it was the best in the AV but how many issues do I have to put up with before I'm done. My wife's sandwich, a 3-meat KC, is missing the roast beef, my sandwich, an extra meat salami & cheese, had less meat than a regular sandwich because #1 I got a new sandwich maker and yes everybody gets to make a mistake when your new, not planned it's part of learning and they will say their sorry, but to her defense #2, she was told to take the meat from another area, maybe salad preparations, which is cut in half complicating her job because #3 management hasn't done their job in cutting meat for the sandwich side of the operation, anyway you look at it, I was the unlucky recipient of all of this again. The pastrami is excellent...always a long wait. I gave it 4 stars because the line is situated in between diners in the restaurant and it's really cramped as you wait to order. Also, though you may order ahead of someone that doesn't necessarily mean that you will get your food before them, even though it's made to order. So just be prepared to watch someone who ordered after you receive their food first. read more

If you love Pastrami that melts in your mouth, then you HAVE to try SubMachine!! This is the only place in the valley that I have gotten a decent Pastrami sandwich, it is perfection. Don't go here if you are a first time visitor with dark skin. :( I walked in with my family and was treated like dirt it seemed. The first thing I told the women behind the counter was that " This was our first time here." Instead of educating us about what each sandwich had on top of it they treated us like we were the stupid ones cause we didn't know. I ordered two sandwiches and a children's sandwich. She was so rude when I said my son wanted a chocolate chip cookie with his meal. It was like she felt I should have known the meal included an oatmeal raisin cookie. UM I said I never had been there before! The two women were looking at us like we were nuts. I'm a smart women but I can't read minds and the menu doesn't say at all! I noticed that every one else in the restaurant was white and highly respected it seemed. But we weren't at all. :( The food was just okay -- it wasn't amazing nor horrible. The prices were slightly high because we normally only go to Subway. The only plus I can think of is that they carry raspberry tea ( our favorite ) and have very large cups. I doubt we will EVER go back to a place where we were so unrespected again. I think we will stick with our normal Subway where they aren't mean to people with dark skin and treat US like we are the dumb ones. read more

My favorite sandwich shop in town. Seriously this place is amazing. First off they PACK your sandwich (unlike other places) and the ingredients are always super fresh. They offer daily specials on sandwiches which is awesome! It's a little pricier than subway but it's totally worth it, the dinning area is cute and rustic and even houses some old fashioned looking P.O. boxes you can rent out. Just stopped by for Tuna, I was appalled when i went to open front door, the handle had a quarter inch of filth and grime from peoples hands, looked like it was never, ever cleaned. Disgusting was an under statement. I brought to lady managers attention, she seemed uninterested to say the least. Proper sanitation and cleaning is a MUST!! The worst sandwich I have ever had. It had no meat in it. Lots of vegetables but no meat. I ordered the ham, turkey, cheese, and avocado. and got 1 thin slice of ham, 1 thin slice of turkey, 1 slice of cheese, and avocado, with a couple of scoops of pickles, olives, and onions. They never offered tomatoes, peppers or other toppings. It was slathered in dressing and was pretty inedible. The staff in Lancaster could be a little more friendly at times but it's always a good sign when you go into the place and there is always a line. Overall the food is great. Love this place! The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. They offer not only a weekly special (or sometimes two) but a daily special. Definitely the closest I have come in the AV to an East Coast sub. The salads are AWESOME and enough for two or three people. The subs are great and the bread is excellent and always fresh. If I had a complaint, it would be that they use cheaper meat and depending on who makes the sandwich, they can be pretty stingy with the meat. The seating is pretty limited, but I have never had to sit outside. They also have a customer loyalty card that is pretty great. Overall, my FAVORITE sandwich shop in the AV. read more

Not the best, but they try...a little more effort and they could increase their sales. Suggestion...don't dice the tomatoes...they fall all over the place and I don't get any in my mouth!!! (Dumb sucky idea! - - 86 that one!) Suggestion- Move that pickle jar! Its right in the middle in everyones way! Suggestion - Move the condiments and napkins off to a table to the side...hard to maneuver around people when you are picking up your order. Chairs are too light and topple easily...Need heftier chairs. (Stay with the armless though...too many hefty people, like me in this valley) Put a bit more meat in the sandwiches...it will increase sales...or keep a light load and heavy load menu...people who are hungry will not mind paying more for a big fat hefty sub full of a ton of meat. Suggestion - The bread you have has ALWAYS been the best....never change it. Suggestion - The store next to you is vacant. You need more room...do you think you could expand??? Pretty good sub shop. The bread is really good, and they put a good amount of freshly sliced meat on each sandwich. They have specials that they hang a banner in the window and then that type of foot long is $5, not sure if they switch it weekly or every couple days. Service is fast, but not too friendly, sometimes it seems like they are working over each other, but they do get you in and out quickly. Their pickles are really good, but they are on the counter in a jar for everyone to get their own which I do not like. Overall good place to try if you are looking for a new, quick bite for lunch. read more
