This seems like a mom and pop type of place when you walk inside. The place was dated, and the staff was busy cooking and serving. They have a good menu displayed with many food items to choose from. I ordered the whole chicken with rice and beans and plantains and salad for a family of four. The chicken was perfectly cooked, you could taste the wood fire it was cooked over and rice and beans went perfect with the chicken. I've passed this spot many times and always think I need to give it a try. I'm a sucker for good Peruvian chicken. Don't know what it is, but when it's done right and the sides are equally tasty it just makes for a great food experience. Su Pollo nailed this one. I ordered the quarter chicken white meat with a side of rice and beans. It comes with a side salad, which this was the only thing that was slightly underwhelming. I know not to expect much from the little side salad, so wasn't a big deal for me. After all, the star of the meal needs to be the chicken. In addition to the chicken, I ordered a small chicken soup. This meal did not disappoint at all. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with all the yummy Peruvian spices (whatever those might be). Lol. The white meat was nice and juicy, which white meat can be dry sometimes. I'm tempted to try the dark meat next time. I bet that's amazing too. The side of rice and beans (yellow rice/black beans) paired perfectly with the chicken. My one warning...the green sauce is SPICY!! I only eat the green sauce with my chicken, and have had a wide variety of green sauces. If the green sauce isn't good, it takes away from the experience. This green sauce was on point. Just had to use it sparingly. I recently got into the chicken soup. I've ordered it from other Peruvian restaurants and have some really good ones. Su Pollo nailed this one as well. If you haven't tried the chicken soup it is a must try. It's perfect on a cold day. The soup is filled with chunks of chicken in a savory broth. Squeeze a little lime and add some green sauce and you have yourself a delicious soup. My only gripe with Su Pollo is the location. It was a little tricky to get into their parking lot and the parking is limited. However this won't keep me from returning for more delicious food!! read more

Awesome new location and branding aesthetic / they've really grown up since they were at the old location but they still the same Amazing food. Very fair prices for the quality of food / very friendly and helpful staff as well. If you've ever been to the original Pollo La Brasa superstar in the DMV/Arlington (El Pollo Rico) which I ate religiously / multiple times a week / for many years (I lived next-door to the place) I think you'll find their chicken here (and sauces) to be almost identical which is AWESOME. I feel blessed that they are close to me because going to Arlington is too far for chicken these days . I'm a huge fan of their new location / it's a lot easier to get in and out of it from other side of route vs the old spot. The suggestion I would make is to see if they could get some different chocolate cake in there for dessert / stuff they have now is very expensive ($4.50 for a small slice) and not as sweet as I would like it. This might possibly be because the Hispanic population doesn't like a sweeter cake / and if that's the case, then I'm clearly in the wrong / I am for keeping it authentic / it just seems like the chocolate cake I got there in the past was better. I don't mind paying premium for high-quality desserts / it's just that the one I got yesterday didn't satisfy my sweet tooth unfortunately. read more

Me and two friends tried out Su Pollo for dinner. You order at the counter and pick up the food when they call your number. I had the combination meal which included 1/4 chicken, half pound of tri-tip, small salad, and yuca frita. The chicken and steak were fairly good with Peruvian spices but the yuca was a little dry and not the best. The dining area was really beat up with many of the booths broken and when we were there none of the tables were clean so I had to clean our table and area myself before we sat down. So not impressed with how clean the restaurant was and dining area was really in poor shape so almost gave the restaurant two stars but the food was good. read more

The food here is delicious, everything you want from a Latino restaurant, that home cooked meal feeling. The service process: You first order at the cashier and then you are given a number and you wait at your table, the ambiance is not great but they have a TV to watch games and nice Peruvian paintings. Let me tell you, that chicken tasted great and the texture was lovely- nice and soft Only downside, was that I had to ask for another plastic bag since the one they gave me was full of sauce. Belvoir, sits an unassuming white red and white shop. Doesn't look magical. The interior is nothing to write home about either. The MAGIC happens when you take your first bite of chicken!!! You will never want any other kind of chicken again!!! They have a wide selection of sides: yuca cooked to order, plantains, rice, beans, corn, etc. My go to order is the Family Meal. It comes with a whole chicken cut in quarters. There are four sides and four salads as well as a 2 liter bottle of soda. They even have Jarritos in 2 liter size! Don't forget about the Alfajores cookies which are tender and filled with caramel. They are worth the drive all by themselves! I've tried many different Peruvian chicken places in the DMV area, but this place is the best. Unfortunately the service can be slow and not the best - they have forgotten to include some stuff before from my order, so make sure to double check that you received everything before you head out the door. The food here is pretty good. My family and I had lunch here and boy were their portions generous. I got a chicken sandwich I think and it came out in a sub cut in half and some fries. It was so good, and I couldn't finish the other half. My parents got the salad and some beef dish. The salad was just freshly cut lettuce, tomatoes, and pieces of chicken scattered around. There was nothing special about it, but it did come in a huge dish. Their beef dish was also in a fairly large dish and was almost entirely made up of beef. The cookies they had at the register was bomb. My parents and I loved them. Can't remember what they're called, but I had them at Sardi's Pollo a la Brasa before and I was NOT impressed that time.
