I had been using another tree service over the…read morepast 10 years or so, and although they were always top-notch as far as their service, they were much more expensive - ridiculously so, I've since discovered. I won't name them because they are also very good at what they do. But I wouldn't recommend them unless price is of no importance to you. Edgar gave me an incredibly fair price to take down two large Silver Maples (approx. 40' and 50' tall) and haul away all of the debris. They were careful to not disturb our yard (which just had new sod put down this past Spring), and carefully replaced everything that they needed to move. Due to certain logistics regarding where the trees had been located, I couldn't have the stumps ground. But Edgar was able to saw the stumps down practically to ground level. I really can't say enough good things about Edgar and his crew or recommend them highly enough. They were on-time, considerate and thoughtful, attentive to detail, and highly efficient. I will be using King Tree Services from now on for all my future tree care.

The trees had become a major problem--overhanging my house and gutters, and one had even grown into the foundation. Landsdown provided a great quote that beat two other tree removal companies. Their crew arrived at sunrise and completed the entire job the same day. One of the trees was extremely close to my house, and removing it without causing any damage was my biggest concern. Their team handled the work with exceptional skill and professionalism, removing the tree safely without touching the house. After removing both stumps, they did a fantastic job cleaning up the property. When they finished, the yard looked great and was ready for a fresh start. The other guy who came with him worked hard, but the owner was just talking. I should have canceled it the moment I saw his attitude change when he arrived for work. As a result, the job was not done properly, and I will need to hire someone else to get the job done properly. If you want the job to done by someone who agreed to it . the moment that person started complaining , it is better to cancel because he is not happy and won't do a good job.

With RTEC, however, the whole process was simple start to finish. I contacted them by email, they got back in touch with me quickly to schedule am arborist to come look at the the job. We met, talked, and I showed him what we needed to have done and asked his opinion. He didn't try to upsell me on anything. The next day he sent a simple and clear (as well as reasonably priced) proposal back to me. As soon as I signed it, we determined a date for the work to be done. The 2-man team that came to perform the work was on time, efficient, polite, and did a great job. They took good safety precautions (both for our yard and for themselves.) They also left the yard looking cleaner than when they found it! They were great and our trimmed tree is happy and healthy -- and better off for the work they performed. My only note is that if you live in a rowhouse like ours or a downtown neighborhood with crummy parking, when you are making the appointment, ask the person to write down that a smaller truck is needed. Bill was gracious, charming and very understanding of my predicament. He set up a time to come and look at my very old and very, very dead Oak. My wonderful neighbor allowed Capitol Care Tree to drive a Bucket Truck and Shredder into his yard so the the crew could access the tree, as it was too dangerous for anyone to climb. The crew was so quiet, no music and no loud voices, Each man had a job to do and he made sure that he did it. When they were all finished, they cleaned up my neighbors yard. If there were not a big hole in the sky were my tree used to be, you would never know that anything had happened. I have worked with three different tree companies in the past. While the team was on site, Milton asked me if there was any other trees that needed to be addressed. I pointed out two already dead White Oak trees, both over 60 feet tall, a Bradford Pear tree in a field of bamboo, an Eastern Red Cedar that had been damaged by the blizzard of '22 and noted a couple of low-hanging branches on a Scotch Pine tree that was too close to the ground for the vehicles that parked under it. All of it was taken care of and when I asked for the chipped wood to be left on my property, they asked where I wanted it and left it as I asked. Some of the wood chips are still smoking to this day from the heat of the chipper itself.
