I'm really surprised at all of these negative reviews. I have always had a good experience. This is my and my friend's go to spot in Long Island to grab bagels. They get orders out quickly and the food is delicious. My usual is their egg everything bagel toasted with 2 eggs and cheese. You could also choose how you would like your egg cooked. I am really not one to post something but I had to post this. I ordered some bagels with cream cheese and noticed there was an extra .15 charge for one of the bagels. Out of curiosity I had to ask why the extra charge. I was told because I asked for one of the bagels TOASTED !! Seriously you charge extra to toast a bagel !!!! I generally used to enjoy coming here the staff is so friendly and the breakfast sandwich's are rather consistent depending on who's making it. But man they go extremely hard for the credit card/debit card minimum literally to the penny as it is they're rather expensive for a BEC or a bagel compared to most bagel stores in the area but supporting a neighborhood place is the "right thing to do" As a person who is local to Stuff A Bagel and has been coming and going here since HS it's rather disappointing they would rather turn you away from ordering food if you're $1 or .50cents short of the $10 min it's quiet disgraceful and bad for business just so they don't have to cover the fees I understand it they have to make a buck but really that's where you draw the line lol l, it's a business but it's a give/take. Frustrating cause they make a good bagel - but they don't make a good sandwich or have nice customer service. There is no consistency with how much cream cheese, meat, salad, whatever filling they put on a sandwich. I called to let manager know this morning cause it happens A LOT and got a whole dialogue about her needing to check tickets that I didn't need to be involved in. I kept repeating I was only calling to let them know there was no cream cheese on bagel and she kept repeating she needed to find ticket to see who it was and what was written on ticket. I am so totally surprised at the reviews for this place. I work nearby and I always come here for their coffee but I also come for the bagels of course and I honestly think their sandwiches and wraps are really delicious! I have absolutely no complaints about this place! It's clean, it's a nice environment, and the people who work there are really sweet and are very accommodating. The only reason this place gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because they never had a line, even on weekends when other bagel stores have lines around the block. The list of things wrong with this place could overload the Yelp server, so I'll cut it down to three. 1) The bagels are not good, which is the main thing I Lou for when choosing a bagel store. 2) They charge you to slice your bagel in half. This is ridiculous. That's like a bank charging you to put your money bankface or an ice cream store charging you for napkins. They charge you for a knife cut. Crazy. 3) The side dishes all look good but have zero flavor except disappointment. Buffalo chicken salad? Looks great, tastes like air. Macaroni and cheese salad? I was in my way to meet up with family when I saw "Stuff-A Bagel" out of the corner of my eye. I haven't had a bagel in awhile. But after seeing one of my Yelp friends (Marianne W.) always getting them, I figured it was time for me to grab one. Inside was the deli was nice. That modern look with black counter tops. The food looked fresh and smelled incredible. I found myself wondering if they baked the bagel there. The staff was friendly and completely approachable. The guy that served me had a excellent sense of humor. I ordered a bagel not toasted because I didn't want the cream cheese to melt. When I got it I sat down and began to eat it. The bagel tasted fresh and warm even though it wasn't toasted. It almost had a crunch to the outside and soft inside. The cream cheese was as good as cream cheese can be. I was satisfied with the bagel and I would definitely go back. Ironically it wasn't till I got into my car that I realized I never asked if they made the bagel or not. Live in Bethpage stopped in for a quik bagel, first time there. Unfortunately whom ever makes the bagels does not know what a real bagel is or taste like and i'm sure if he had a real bagel, they would agree that stuff a bagel has rubber in there's because a bagel is supposed tobe crunchy on the out side and soft on the inside (not rubbery). So thumbs down on THE BAGEL MAKER at stuff a bagel. TIP: real bagels are boiled then baked in case he doesnot know that. read more

The essential bagel place in Bethpage. I would say (and I know many disagree) that Stuff-A-Bagel is better than Bagel Boss in Plainview. Their bagels are great, and they make all kinds of sandwiches and have no problem with customizations. Try the California Turkey on a toasted plain bagel. They are also one of the few places in the area that actually sell Zico Chocolate coconut water. The price is a little on the high side, but the quality is well worth it. read more

Just moved to the neighborhood and just so happened to live down the block Bagels are wonderful and my favorite is the egg everything , I love the in house made ice tea and my sisters alwaysssss order the iced coffee !! Their huge fans !! Never tried the paninis yet but the ham and Swiss cheese melt with garlic butter is AMAZING I could live on those if they didn't kill me first Only thing I wish was different was that their were fresh pastries in the window instead of 2-3 day old baked Danishes and turnover goods. I brought a friend from out of town here last week and he ordered a breakfast sandwich with avocado. I heard him mention the avocado twice because the man behind the corner who took his order didn't hear him the first time. He told us we could sit down and someone would bring our food to the table. The sandwich came out without avocado and my friend kindly said something to them. They didn't believe him and needed to check receipts, but on the receipt the avocado wasn't listed. Instead of taking the responsibility for the mistake and putting the avocado on his sandwich that he definitely asked for, another lady who was working approached our table and requested an additional $1.50 after we had already paid, sat down, and waited for our food. Was this really necessary? We didn't make a stink, but we thought it was so rude to be coming to our table for him to go back into his wallet once again, for such a small amount of money, instead of apologizing for the inconvenience and fixing it. In my opinion, Stuff A Bagel actually loses money by doing this and we'll definitely get sandwiches somewhere else next time. Was it really worth the $1.50?? read more

If you are looking for a nice peaceful place for breakfast and you like super loud chopping noises in front of the table you are eating at; loud refrigerators and people sitting at the tables talking loudly on their phones (one guy even put his phone onto speakerphone mode and put it on the table and started talking even more loudly!), then come on by. Also, I asked for a toasted bagel, for here, and it wasn't toasted and given to me in a bag. I suggest for them the following: The lady chopping should do it more quietly, and or not during breakfast time and or in the back. They should place signs on the door and or on the tables "Thank you for taking your phones calls outside". They should upgrade their refrigerators to something from the past 5-10 yrs that are not like a turbo-jet sound. On the positive side; the service was nice and the selection of bagels was good. I order/take out from here all the time and I think its great. The reason I deducted a star is because it can be VERY expensive in comparison to other local delis. An egg sandwich can run you upwards of 8 dollars and a salad around 12. The shop itself is very clean and has ample room for seating. When you walk in you see the large salad bar selection and if you are getting a salad there is a checklist you can use to pick your items/dressing/toppings. Be careful! This can definitely add up especially if your like me and like a lot in your salad. You can get it chopped or they can just leave everything whole for you. They also have the option to get pre-made salads which all look extremely fresh and handmade. They have some good ones like taco or apple walnut. Of course all of their bagels look delicious (Ive only tried the low carb one which was meh- but of course how good could a low carb bagel be lol). They make great omletes as well and they have turkey bacon which is a plus. I always want to order mine on a low carb wrap but for some reason for the past few weeks they have been out of the wraps. The pastries and desserts look awesome as well. Everything looks so fresh and like it was just baked that day. When we order from here at work they usually include some type of cake with the order. Bagels are good. People aren't super friendly and prices are on the higher side $8 for a gourmet omelette is your omelette, home fries, meat, and a bagel/toast option. Not too bad but still a bit on the high side Bagel with lox is like $7 but comes with a side salad. Everything in this place just seems to be overpriced. This place is the closest bagel store to me, so I order breakfast sandwiches from here often and they always screw the order up somehow. I've given them the benefit of the doubt many times because I know mistakes happen. However, when mistakes happen as frequently as they do here it becomes infuriating. I can't tell you how many times they've ruined my breakfast forcing me to go back and ask for a new one. I honestly feel like a sucker for giving this place my business so many times, when I might as well have paid a blindfolded six year old to make me breakfast, and probably get the same result. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have good reviews. First of all it's always packed! Second the bagels are always fresh and soft. I go there almost once a week and the staff is always friendly. One night my daughter wanted a bagel and they were closed, one of the guys opened up and gave us a bagel with cream cheese on the house. Been going here for years. Under the old ownership, this place was definitely a 4 star establishment. He was always interacting with his customers, and made you feel welcome. The new owners have been there for about a year and a half now, and it's just a run of the mill bagel place that has some deserts and chopped salads. Not amazing, not terrible.... Just average. For a quick lunch stop off, it's ok. I will say however that their buffalo chicken salad is great! read more
