Swiss on a roll... Where's my lettuce
Cyndi D.

Are you kidding me, over $15.00 for 2 slices of Swiss, on a roll. I asked for lettuce. I did not get it. And a water. This is absolutely Ludacris this place's prices for what they give you! You should be ashamed of yourself!

Specials

Just happened to be in the neighborhood during some waiting time. The place is bright, open spaced and the specials are posted at the front. Decided to head inside for a quick bite and was greeted by the man behind the counter. I decided to get the Monte Cristo and a small coffee. It was great, the addition of the coleslaw was a game changer. A bit pricey but overall a good spot.

Front of restaurant

Absolutely amazing food, I've been coming for the last month at least once a week, and there's still so much I have to try. Salads are fresh, all the employees are helpful and friendly, and it's a nice calm place to enjoy and eat good food. Shoutout Brian for the excellent service!

"Magic Bag" from Too Good To Go app. 17 bagels.
Michael S.

[this review is mostly about the "Magic Bag" from the Too Good To Go app] Unlike virtually all other bagel places on the app that list their bags as "bread and pastries," this one was labeled as a "meal." Since I don't need 17 bagels at home, I thought I'd see what this meal was. The bag collection process was smooth and on time. The vibe inside was...weird. The place felt dingy and dark and thrown together. Not a reason on its own to avoid the place, but the manager (I think) who gave me the bag made it sound like they set aside food specifically for this program, which defeats the save-food-waste purpose of it. The bigger issue was that there was no "meal," just 17 bagels of several varieties. They taste fine, but like I said, I don't need 17 bagels.

Americana sandwich

Such delicious sandwiches, great salads and super friendly employees. Everything I have tried is wonderful. Check them out if you're in the area.

Bagels are bad, not fresh, and overpriced. People who work here seem angry to be there.

Fresh, well blended and delicious. I always order online and find my items nicely packaged with tamper-proof seals. They also offer local delivery. It pays to order the large size since incremental pricing applies. I usually drink half of my beverage immediately and save the rest for a nice boost later on in the day. Smoothies can be customized with cashew milk, coconut milk or almond milk along with a wide array of flavors and add-ons. Pick your (non)-poison and enjoy! Tips: Purple Flamingo offers two-for-one smoothies in certain flavors (recently the "Berry Burst"), and general discounts during lunch hours, so look out for those. I haven't tried their bowls yet but they look great, and unlike most chain stores their bowl price includes unlimited fruit types. Friendly small business with fresh healthy offerings? Yes please! I only wish they offered a wider variety of vegan meal items, but their smoothies and bowls are fantastic. Thanks Purple Flamingo for helping me to attain my health goals.

After spending a hot afternoon at Jones beach this afternoon and soaking up a bit too much sun, the gf and I immediately knew we had to cool off with some acai bowls. I wanted to switch it up this time around so I ordered the stupid cupid, which consisted of a blended strawberry and banana base, as well as coconut milk, blueberry flax granola, strawberries, coconut flakes, cacao, nutella and finally, white chocolate. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu throughout the rest of the summer!

Since we always get their Pitaya or Green bowls, this was our first time trying their açaí based bowl. I decided to try their Nutella açaí bowl, which comes with strawberry, banana, and Nutella spread. Since I love blueberries, they let me swap the strawberry for blueberry which was nice. I could also choose a second base, so I picked their banana base, which I don't usually see at other places. My family got their Tropical bowl, which comes with pineapple, banana, and honey. The server was nice, and they made our açaí bowls quickly, neat and nice! What I love about Playa Bowl is that their base tastes amazing and is creamy, and the portion of fruit is great! They're usually around $16, which is a little expensive compared to other places, but it's definitely worth it. They have so many varieties of bowls with different kinds of base, the acai, Pitaya, green and banana. They also sometimes have seasonal bowl, which right now is the strawberry based bowl :) so you can try different ones each time you visit and find your favorite! My favorite so far is the Electric Mermaid, which comes with pineapple, mango, and kiwi on a Pitaya base. This location was great, nice and quiet, not crowded. If you haven't had a chance to try it yet, you should definitely try!!
