As always, I found this deli by chance. What a wonderful chance it was. "Sopranos Deli" has all the makings of an epic find. I only noticed street parking, but it was fine. I was hungry and nothing was stopping me from going in. The outside of the building was interesting to say the least. Let's just say it stood out. Inside was a bit small. I was surprised, but there were people getting food so I know I was at the right place. Once it was my turn I looked over the options. The staff were friendly and the guy joked with me a lot. He mentioned the lasagna was still fresh. He forced my hand so I went with that. I am glad he did. The lasagna was perfect! Second to none! They used ricotta, meat and the right amount of cheese. I definitely would rate this high. My only wish is that it was closer to my home, I would go more often. But maybe it being far is a good thing. I mean, I would be there every day. read more

Now the review. 1. A simple order that they couldn't get right. Plain bagel, scooped, toasted with cream cheese, plain bagel with butter and a large iced coffee. Delis are a dime a dozen here on the Island I would say for what I ordered Soprano's stood out Their sign says deli and bagel what I came for was a bagel friendly gal helped me a pumpernickel bagel with lox spread bagel was great not the best I ever had but pretty darn good what did stand out was the lox cream cheese big hunks of lox in cream cheese not just a schmear but a big fat helping and it was sooo good I had deli iced tea it was sweet but it was fine for a bagel and a schmear this place rocks read more

The service at this deli has gone down the tubes. I had been buying egg sandwiches from this place for years. This morning I ordered two egg, bacon and cheese on everything bagels, and I got one egg, bacon and cheese on a round roll and one egg and cheese on a roll. When I call the deli, they try to tell me is a dollar more for the sandwich that I ordered and they will, give me the sandwich if I drive back there. I am done with this place. And also the coffee lids do not fit properly on the coffee cups and they leak. Very disappointing. read more

Gave them a try for my usual breakfast order I usually get elsewhere, bacon egg and cheese sandwich was good, slightly above average. I tried a hash brown which I thought would be chopped potatoes but it was one of the hash browns like the style you'd get at McDonald's, except it tasted like it was fried in dirty grease, threw it out. Mask aren't warn over the nose, but on their chin. They do not change their gloves, and use the same ones to make your food. They have a slim Gal who works there and she had an attitude because I asked her to change her gloves after she was opening up boxes under a cabinet by the garbage and went back to making my bagel. She remade my bagel after she changed her gloves and then slammed my bagel on the counter. This same gal is always texting on her phone as well. You can even see them picking and eating over the food as they make it in the back to. The nice ladies are Janet, and was reina. But Reina opened her own deli in Merrick on Jerusalem avenue. I live in the area and have been trying out the local delis for breakfast sandwiches, by far, Sopranos, has been the best. Sandwiches are always tasty and packed with meat. Every time I've been there, I've had different foods and have been so impressed with the flavors every time. All the food is so delicious and the chef Aida gives off such a positive and welcoming vibe. This neighborhood place is just that . . . a neighborhood stop for the basics. A deli sandwich, bagels, a quick breakfast sandwich, coffee and the like. The bagels are decent, although distantly far apart from my favorite bagel, but they do hold up well for an egg sandwich. The coffee is nice and bold too and provides good flavor. Although don't bother with the has brown potatoes . . . they have way too much paprika, which seems to be the only flavor you get out of these. Extremely disappointed! Ordered a Tuscan sandwich through DoorDash, which is supposed to be grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, and roasted peppers on a hero. They must have ran out of grilled chicken because I got a small little piece of grilled chicken on half the sandwich and then they put Turkey cold cuts in instead. Great deli hands out. What makes it great is the personal service and friendliness that makes it a joy coming here. I recommend their Iced Coffee and their quesadillas. If you call ahead and ask for the quesadilla and get a fresh one, you will highly enjoy it. It is probably the best quesadilla in the area. Egg sandwiches and what not are great as well. Bored with the typical hero and wraps, we ordered 30 paninis for my daughters graduation party. I was back on LI and needed an egg sandwich fix. I'm now living in Boca and there are no delis in Florida and there's no such thing as an egg sandwich either. So I'm driving by Sapranos and see the town trucks parked outside. Always a good sign of good food inside.I walk in, they had the case with the usual salads, they carry Boars head cold cuts. I went straight to the counter and ordered my Long Island egg sandwich. I only had to say, Bacon, egg,cheese, S+P. They knew what to do. The egg sandwich was outstanding. Bacon cooked to perfection. Gross! Walked in here with my family and was so repulsed by the condition of the place that I didn't even order any food. The floor looked like it hadn't been swept in months, and the inside of the refrigerator looked pretty funky too. The menu was ridden with type-os-- seemingly insignificant, but the way I see it, an establishment that doesn't put effort into spelling their menu items right probably doesn't care very much about maintaining their cleanliness either. After a recent PT appointment in East Meadow, I stopped by Soprano's Deli for breakfast for the first time. What a nice surprise! The food was great and the people were so friendly there, from the customers helping me and joking at the coffee station to the staff, who seemed to really care about my being satisfied with the food and showed it by their very attentive service. When I commented about this to Aida, the owner with her husband Mike, she said "we like to treat people like family." Certainly true! The way she assembled a really fresh salad for me from their salad bar made me feel the closest to having a mother than I've had in years! I also noticed that the local priest seemed like a regular as well as several police officers who came in while I was there. I went back for their home cooked lunch the next week and enjoyed that too.... Chicken, potatoes and a great spinach sautéed with onions. The only disappointment was to learn that their young helper, their daughters best friend, was leaving to move to Hawaii, and I wished her well.
