I was craving some halal deli meat and discovered this place online. I picked it out due to location and menu, and I'm glad I decided to try it! First off, their turkey wrap was so delicious and just the kind of thing I had been craving. I forgot to ask for it with no mayo, but it was still good. I'm really happy we have a halal breakfast spot nearby. The menu isn't long but has a good blend of eastern and western options. The food is made fresh and not sloppy like some breakfast places can be. The only complaint I have is that their bagels dont seem to be the freshest, compared to all the bagels available on Long Island. Theirs are more dense and chewy for some reason. Other than that, they have good coffee options, and grab and go things including halal beef jerky. Their french toast is one of the best I've had anywhere. I had never had a halal bagel before. The bagel was OK, not good, not bad. The omelette was BIG but terrible tasting. The iced coffee tasted fine. Although the 2 girls working were nice everything moved SLOW AF. It took them way too long to even make coffee. Unless halal is a requirement for you, I would avoid. The omelet kept coming back up for the next 4hours. Visit Bagelafe today on a Sunday. It was busy with many families with young children there. The woman behind the counter repeated my to go order 2 or 3 times. So it should be surprising if not right! Right? The bagel ( see pix) was not toasted well done nor did it have scallion cream cheese- 1 of the 3 cream cheeses they noted for sale, it was more like whipped cream cheese and it wasn't even cut even with one side very thin and the other thick. ( difficult to put in my toaster at home) Like- how hard is it to get this order right? The meat omelette on everything bagel ( as they had no salt ones) didn't appear to have the added slice of turkey that I ordered, either. I'm told it was very peppery in taste. I'd ordered it on an egg everything bagel not just an egg bagel. So once home what's one to do? Go back, call, complain??? I didn't even see a receipt this time and don't know exactly what I was charged for. They have a help sign for a front kitchen person. Seems to me they need better help to get the orders right. Once again , I'd not checked before I'd Left. If I do happen to go back to this store again for convenience, I clearly would have to check each thing that I order. Maybe a new hire could do better.
