Had a horrible experience here for my wedding makeup trial. I felt that Denise was very rude and…read morecondescending to me throughout the trial. For example, she put fake eyelashes on me and then said "wow, these lashes do NOTHING for you." Ummm, who wants to hear that from the person who is doing their makeup? Then she kept making little comments to me like "well, that was more blush than you needed". Ok, if something doesn't look right, I am trusting you as the makeup artist to fix it. You are supposed to be the expert. I brought pictures of exactly how I wanted my makeup done and at the end of the trial, she said "wow, this looks nothing like the pictures". Whattt?!? Again, who says that to a potential client?! She told me that I didn't have the "bone structure" of the women in the pictures so that is why my makeup looks nothing like theirs. I was just shocked speechless. After all this, she STILL demanded that I pay the $75 for the trial. I just felt sick to my stomach after that experience. Needless to say I did NOT book her for my wedding.

Almost fell asleep on several occasions. She is very educated in her field and can hep with any issue. The ambiance in her spa is tranquil and immediately relaxing. You will definitely feel pampered and well attended to! I was having trouble finding cleansers that didn't dry out my skin and keeping my skin hydrated without over doing it. I use Denise's Gentle Cleansing Gel in combination with her Azulen Day Cream. It's the perfect combination! I had moved away from NC to CA and tried other products with no success. So, I order them online. Denise did my make-up for me before a couple of special events I was attending. I always received glowing compliments (lots from younger men too!). I had great fun doing a boudoir photo shoot with Denise (Mike McGlynn was the photographer - also amazing). Denise did my hair and make-up and provided several wardrobe options (I brought my own as well). The end result was a professionally done portfolio of pictures including head shots, and playful and seductive poses. Don't wait. Book now!

The Makeup Addict Studios is JUST that fantastic. It's certainly a noteworthy, professional make up studio worth mentioning. The Makeup Addict Studio, owned and operated by Ambria Cotten, is a cutting edge makeup studio in a class of its own. I have had the privilege of visiting the studio numerous times and will continue to visit. When you walk in, you are greeted with a warm smile and excellent hospitality. This is not just a makeup studio - this is an experience. As one in the music industry, it is of the utmost importance that my makeup is professional and looks good. Ambria is very diverse in her approach, being able to cater to my desire for a dramatic look right down to a natural appearance. I can count on her to give me the look that caters well to my needs. She uses quality products and is sure to ask the right questions about my skin type to ensure the best fit for the look we're going for. When you've got a good thing going, you want to stick with it. For this cause, I will continue to frequent and refer my friends and family to this studio. The level of professionalism provided is comparable to none. Any questions that I may have, she is quick to respond. I've also had the opportunity to see students trained under her tutelage and the level of care that she instructs shows forth her passion for makeup artistry and to see her students progress. This company has an office in both Raleigh and Charlotte. It grieved my heart to see some of the less than tasteful reviews of the Charlotte office. What a shock! My heart goes out to the very few who experienced challenges there. All of my experiences in the Raleigh office has been nothing short of stellar, professional, and unique. I am very careful about the integrity of my associations (especially those working on my face or hair). Because I had frequented the studio numerous times, I felt it necessary to inquire. After all, client statistical trends of repeat business holds true; if there's an issue, people will not return to patronize that business. If I knew something was off, I would no longer want to visit. Integrity is everything! I reached out to the owner to inquire. It was brought to my attention that the moment the challenges in the Charlotte office became known, immediate actions were taken to rectify the situation. This included the swift removal of the previous office manager mentioned in one of the previous posts. It's certainly no desire of mine for anyone to be removed, however, business is business. From my experience, this studio does everything that it can possibly do to cater to the needs of its clients. I am very proud of the work this studio produces and the way it makes me feel. Just to share how amazing this studio is, I was doing a Periscope video about a month ago. I made a trip to Atlanta a few weekends ago, and someone mentioned to me how much they loved my makeup and wanted to have MY NORTH CAROLINIAN makeup artist do their makeup. She's in Atlanta... The last time I checked, Atlanta does NOT have a shortage in makeup artists. The quality provided by the MakeUp Addict Studio touched someone states away who would want to work with my makeup artist. That speaks volumes!!! It is my desire that this posting is as clear and helpful as it could possibly be. I will continue visiting this studio. I leave feeling pretty and every woman deserves this.I don't put my name or endorsement behind everyone and everything, but I would HIGHLY recommend this studio.

I had a consultation with Sonya and we worked out a strategy to achieve what I wanted for my brows. I got them done twice in VA, both several years ago and they had started to fade a bluish/greenish brown from the dark brown they had been. This is actually the second local salon I visited for this service, the first told me I'd need to have them lasered off before starting over. Sonya evaluated and said she could fix them no problem. The first session we worked on the color correction and kept the shape mostly the same. The second session (a month later) we finalized the color and went a little bigger on the shape. The final session (a month later) we finished the shape and I ended up with exactly what I wanted. The process was easy, I felt informed every step of the way and Sonya is clearly an expect in her craft. As mentioned above, I have also been going to this salon for my eyelashes for a few months with Maria. She is also an expert at her craft and I always love my lashes. I have been very happy with my experience at Epo Beauty and I'm looking forward to seeing the new space.
