I grew it out for a few months, but couldn't wait through the sides getting long. I saw Amanda for a consultation for hair extensions and balayage. When I came back for the appointment, everything went perfectly. Amanda is so pleasant and wears extensions, so she was very knowledgeable and wanted me to look fantastic. She colored my hair to perfectly match the extensions. I had brought a picture to the consultation and my hair looks exactly like the picture. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a salon. I am now a lifetime client. I'll continue to wear extensions even after my hair is long again, in order to add volume to my fine hair. I'm starting to get some gray hairs and she is now my colorist for life! I've had my extensions for three weeks now and they are wearing perfectly. I feel so pretty!

Camille has been doing my hair since I moved to North Carolina over six years ago. Whether I'm looking for a cut, color, ombre or highlights, she has always done amazing work. She has helped me countless times when deciding how to color my hair. She also offers products for sale and makes suggestions to help my color last and style my hair. Camille has done exquisite work with hair styles for special occasions. Recently, she taught me how to put my hair up in a quick updo for a formal event I'm attending. The salon is always neat and tidy and well decorated. The location is easy to get to with plenty of parking available. I have always recommended Camille to anyone looking for a hairstylist. read more

I absolutely LOVE Camille at Top Knot! She has been my hair stylist for the past several years and I have NEVER had a bad experience with her. I used to be nervous when getting my hair cut because I have had some bad experiences in the past but now I am just excited because I know she will do a good job. She recently started highlighting my hair, too, and it looks amazing! Everyone is always so surprised it isn't natural because it looks so good. Top Knot is a wonderful salon that makes you feel really relaxed and comfortable while you get your hair done. I would completely recommend this salon to anyone looking to get their hair done in the Raleigh area! read more

I disclosed up front that I'd used boxed dye in the past so the hair stylist knew this before…read morestarting. Aside from the conversations he had the whole 4 hour appointment, that were continually referring to his privates without saying the actual word, I was uncomfortable the whole time. But aside from his comments after putting all the foil on he put me under the heater and then walked away and took his 3rd or 4th phone call since I'd gotten there. I knew personal stuff was happening with his family so I wouldn't have cared except for the fact my head started burning to the point my body was shaking. I tried to wave him down but he didn't see me nor was he paying attention. I tried to get another stylists attention but sadly she was busy with another client and didn't see me (which I don't blame her for obviously I'm his client his responsibility). I scooted out of the heater trying to get the foil off my burning scalp when he finally noticed and came over. Only to touch the foil and jump back saying "it got me!". Mind you he didn't get it off my head still so my scalp is still being burned while he's airing off his hand. After admitting it was too hot he pulled off my foils and even admitted I should have been under the heater an additional 5 minutes. I asked him and another stylist if my head had been burned or hair fried because the pain was not going away even after my hair was washed. Both told me no no your head is fine, it's not even red then proceeded to continue yanking on my hair or scrubbing it intensely during my wash. This was the most painful salon experience I've ever had. Needless to say when I got home I had my husband check my head as it still was throbbing only to find my scalp had indeed been badly burned and I had oils leaking out for days trying to heal it with a massive scab that lasted well over a month. Proceed here with caution.
