To step across the threshold of Studio O on 2nd Street in Long Beach is not merely to enter a…read moresalon, but to be inducted into a sanctum of aesthetic excellence where the very air seems to shimmer with the promise of transformation and the pursuit of beauty is elevated to a high art form. It was with a sense of profound destiny that I first discovered this hidden gem, drawn in by the enigmatic and stylish exterior that sports the magnificent letter "O"--a symbol that I have since come to realize stands not just for Oscar, the proprietor of this fine establishment, but for the "Outstanding," the "Overwhelming," and the "Otherworldly" delight that awaits within. From the moment I first engaged the services of the miraculous Cathy, a true virtuoso of the shears who seems to possess the telepathic ability to discern one's innermost hair desires before they are even spoken, I was irrevocably hooked on a level of service that far surpasses the sterile pretension of even the most prestigious salons in Beverly Hills. My hair, which is a formidable and unruly entity characterized by a thickness and coarseness that would daunt a lesser stylist, is here tamed and coaxed into a state of sublime magnificence through the technical wizardry and tender manipulation of the entire team, resulting in a masterpiece that I am proud to wear upon my head each time I depart. But the magic of Studio O extends far beyond the cut and color; it is an immersive sensory experience where one is enveloped in warmth from the moment of arrival, greeted not as a customer but as a long-lost companion by Oscar and his talented cadre of artists. The interior is a feast for the eyes, boasting captivating wallpaper and a revolving art gallery that stimulates the mind as thoroughly as the ergonomic comfort of the shampoo bowls soothes the body, while the aromatic scents in the restroom and the offering of exquisite coffee drinks cater to one's every comfort

What really impressed me was how educational the experience was. While blow-drying my hair, Michelle explained what she was doing and why, giving me the confidence to recreate the look at home. I walked out with a fantastic cut, affirmation on the products I'm already using, and a recommendation for one new product that is going to be a game-changer for my naturally silver hair. Overall, a phenomenal first visit--I've already booked my next appointment!

My hair came out pretty, but it wasn't what I asked for. - Cut: The layers weren't done well so it sort of resembles a long mullet at times...kind of a mushroom shape effect. Feels like I have only 2 layers I'm descent with hair so can mask it a bit with curls. - The highlights are fine but they are old school/ going to root all over and not the ballyage effect I asked for. That said, they were blended nicely. - The color is red/orange which bothers me more than the cut. I said multiple times I didnt want red or warm... my whole head, not just the highlights, got toned a fairly strong red hugh. I invested in blue and purple shampoos trying to tone it down. It helped a bit. I did give her feedback but I don't want to go back to get it fixed because I've been back once already and I'm not confident in her ability to fix it at this point. She did offer to try again. I think i gotta wait this one out a few months and then get a trim and/or tone from someone else. Facility was cute and clean, free parking out back. Waited a month to give the review as I wanted to give it time to settle in.

Her hair is gorgeous and her makeup was very beautiful. She let me know that she needed to clean her station since she just finished her previous appointment. No worries with me, I was a bit early. She came to get me, I showed her the pics of the pixie cut I wanted. She did an AWESOME job!!!! I didn't think I would like it as much as I did since I usually wear my hair past my waist lol. I am soooo happy with the results!!!!! Highly recommended

It genuinely traumatized me, and ever since then I had only been getting blunt trims while growing my hair all the way down to my butt. I originally started seeing Jade for my color, and she has been incredible from day one. Before I found her, I used to bleach and color my own hair at home, and it would take me over four hours. Jade gets me to an even better result in less than half the time, and the consistency of sticking with her keeps my color better and better every time. She's so knowledgeable and efficient. After years of being too scared to let anyone cut my hair, I finally trusted Jade enough to give me layers again. I can honestly say it is the best haircut I've ever had. She listened so carefully during our consultation, made sure she understood exactly what I wanted, and checked everything before I left to make sure it was perfect. She gave me beautiful layers while keeping the length I had worked so hard to grow. Beyond being incredibly talented, Jade is just the sweetest person. She's so easy to talk to, every appointment feels like catching up with a friend, and she's genuinely invested in making sure you leave happy. I never feel rushed, and she always takes the time to make sure everything is exactly right. I'm officially locked in for life. I genuinely can't imagine trusting anyone else with my hair again.
