My daughter went in and wanted to get some bangs cut . Sounds simple right ?? .....but unfortunately she walked out with her hair F*#&'d UP!!! (Excuse the language but there is no way else to say it . ) Mandi for some reason decided to cut a THICK part of the front of her hair and then went on to cut an additional piece on each side right below the ear . Why the heck she did that is beyond me . This is traumatizing !!!!! And no way my daughter was going back to let her try and fix it . I so much wanted to be impressed by my hair cut that I received today, but this was not the case. Although, the young lady was very nice she botched my hair cut and gave me something totally different than the photo I showed her. I had to tell her 3 times that my hair was uneven and continually ask if she was going to give me layers. To avoid embarrassing the young lady I smiled and walked out and had initially decided not say anything and just accept it, but I am out $60 plus tip and left a totally different hair cut than what I wanted. I'm so happy I found Kelli at Studio One! The stylist I had for years moved an hour + drive away, so I needed to find someone new. After trying a few others, with mediocre to disastrous results, I finally found Kelli. She really knows what she's doing. I get a light brown base color to cover those pesky grays, plus blonde highlights, and it always looks natural, with nice depth. She gives me a layered bob that is super cute and modern. When I am in SB and am in need of a color, touch up, trim and or products I always go here. Claudie Shouse does a phenomial job. I look like a before and after when I leave. She is very sweet and particular about doing a professional finished look.Don't worry if you are visiting and do not go here on a regular basis, you will be treated like you do. The interior of the salon is very inviting and casual yet comfortable. It's not a loud noisy type of salon . Nobody is yelling at each other or telling jokes over the hum of a blow dryer. The front desk receptionist is very nice and prompt. If you need products , the selection is extensive. I also noticed some skin care items on the well stocked shelves. Relaxing with an Ocean breeze. My stylist Gladys just moved to this salon from Newport Beach, CA. She is one of the best stylists I have ever had (I am a former hairdresser who worked for Sassoon). She specializes in color, cutting and styling. I have recommended several friends who are very happy too! This is a well managed salon with highly talented stylists. I would recommend any stylist to do your hair. Of course my favorite is Gladys and I have been going to her for a couple of years since I moved to Newport Beach. Friday the 15th, absolutely one of the worst hair salon experiences I have had by a 15 year veteran in the business named Sabrina. I called the shop Tuesday after having texted Sabrina and not being satisfied with her response. Whoever answered the phone that day assured me the owner would be told and that I would be hearing from her with a solution. Friday the 22nd when I had yet to hear back from the owner, I called and now was told that she would not be back until Tuesday the 26th. How long does one have to wait for a response? I had explained in length how my hair was an anomaly and that I had a strong dislike for the balayage look. My words obviously fell on deaf ears. I got exactly the opposite. I look like the before picture. Five torturous hours later, heading to the register to pay, the ticket had already been written up. Sabrina said it was $265.00 and then made the comment "I would have charged you more." I was taken aback that she would even utter those words. Apparently she works on commission. It made me feel obligated and bad for her, that when I gave her $300.00 and she asked for change, I said keep it. UGH So today is Saturday, My hair feels dry, brittle with a look that I am very distressed over. Help me please. read more

I have been going to my hairstylist for many many years. When he moved to this salon I was wary of change but he's been there a while now and it's a great salon to visit. They're helpful with making appointments, always call with a reminder, and have reasonable prices for hair products. I've never had problems finding a parking spot on the side street and it's always a pleasure to walk in Seal Beach, it's never a very far walk. Since going there with Chris I've also had my hair done by Amber and she did a great job. And I asked some friends for a referral and found Claudie. She does classic and modern hair great. But honestly I was still not 100% confident trying what I wanted - usually I had long dark hair, this time I went for the short blond. So Claudie did magic to me! I love my hair so much! I'm very grateful I found Krishna and this hair salon. I have been coloring my hair for over 30 years and she is the best colorist I have ever found! And I have been to some very fancy, high-end, ridiculously expensive salons in my day. My hair comes out much better here with Krishna and for less than half the price! With my previous hair dresser, it was pretty much hit and miss. Sometimes it was great.... sometimes.... not so much. I have never had a bad experience with Krishna. I always leave here happy. I called and spoke to Joanie, asking for an experienced hair dresser for curly hair. I trusted her, since this was my first time there. I thought the salon would want knew customers. My hair was cut dry which was a give away, but I figured that once dried she would even it out when wet. Bottom line my hair is uneven and shorter, which means I have to wait. Oh and no product, moose or gel. Oh and she used a thin comb, which brings out frizz in curly hair! Next time someone asks for a certain type of experience...Be honest! I had made an appointment with another stylist but received a late night text that she would not be able to keep her appointment and she gave me the number of another salon(that seemed weird to me). Either way I came in the next day and the very nice lady at the front desk made an appointment for me with Claudi Shouse and wow I loved her. She was professional and found out what I wanted, what I do with my hair to keep it up and even gave me pointers to keep my hair smooth at home! My haircut and color were age appropriate(46yrs old) but modern too. My only complaint is that I don't live near by here and will have to wait for my next trip to see my MIL. Please go to Claudie!!!! I had the best haircut in years here, done by Amber. She also colored my hair, but I wanted it bright orange, and she didn't have the "crazy" color that I wanted. She colored it as bright red as she had, and said if I want it even brighter, to come back and she'd get the stronger dye for me and she'd dye it for free. Well, I came back in a week, and she did it, and it looks great! She used a razor to cut my hair and gave it very nice texture. Prices are reasonable - it cost me $90 for a haircut, color, and styling. It would have been slightly cheaper in Supercuts, but I was never as happy with the result before. I came to Studio One just for Alexi Cobb and her amazing eyebrow skills. Not only did Alexi clean up my haphazard eyebrows we decided to add in the eyebrow extensions as well. I have been back twice now and I can't tell you how much I love not having to pencil in my eyebrows every morning! They look so great and have helped me to just wake up and go with the kids in the morning instead of worrying about having a full face of makeup done.
