Krishna did an excellent job blending my grey and brown hair with some highlights and a precision cut. It was a relaxing experience and everyone at this salon is super nice and helpful. Will be back! read more

My daughter went in and wanted to get some bangs cut . Sounds simple right ?? .....but unfortunately she walked out with her hair F*#&'d UP!!! (Excuse the language but there is no way else to say it . ) Mandi for some reason decided to cut a THICK part of the front of her hair and then went on to cut an additional piece on each side right below the ear . Why the heck she did that is beyond me . This is traumatizing !!!!! And no way my daughter was going back to let her try and fix it . It's probably going to take at least a year for it to grow back out to how it was , DO NOT LET MANDI TOUCH YOUR HAIR !! read more

Carrie is amazing!!! Thrilled with my highlights and cut and she was absolutely delightful. Can't wait to go back. Super friendly spot and so glad I found it!! Thank you Carrie and Studio One! read more

I have been coming here for nearly two years now, having my hair bleached by Sabrina. Outstanding job every time; she is also very helpful because I often go in with a minimal idea of what I want and she builds upon that vision. She is also a great conversationist, which I didn't realize I missed out on when visiting other salons. And I love that it is so close to the beach, who doesn't want to show off their new tresses with that background? read more

Studio One in Seal Beach is a sensational hair salon, with an exceptional owner and staff. The customer service, quality of work, friendly atmosphere AND pleasant environment are key aspects which have established and solidified our personal devotion and loyalty. Kelli (the owner and an incredible creative artist) genuinely cares about every client and her team, and this is clearly evident at the salon. Additionally, this is a business who values the bond and relationship with the community. Congratulations on creating a fabulous hair salon and thank you for continuously providing our family with the highest quality results and service. 5 stars all round. read more

Hayley, an employee, did an incredible job with my hair but is standoffish. She could develop better communication skills.

Booked a random appointment for color and cut with Hayley! The most sweetest person you can ever meet!!! What a wonderful soul! Her attention to my color cut and blow dry was amazing!!!! My hair has never looked so good! Walk out of the salon and the first person I saw stopped to tell me how amazing I looked!!! Thank you Hayley!!! You are truly a GOD send read more

Had a great experience! Friendly, talented owner/stylist who did a Keratin and cut for me. I really like the outcome!

I so much wanted to be impressed by my hair cut that I received today, but this was not the case. Although, the young lady was very nice she botched my hair cut and gave me something totally different than the photo I showed her. I had to tell her 3 times that my hair was uneven and continually ask if she was going to give me layers. To avoid embarrassing the young lady I smiled and walked out and had initially decided not say anything and just accept it, but I am out $60 plus tip and left a totally different hair cut than what I wanted. I will be calling the manager tomorrow to resolve this matter....This is the cut I wanted and this is what I got...Buyer beware read more

I'm a Michigander visiting my friends in Huntington Beach, CA. I'm 54 where my hair has really changed texture. I went in with my longish, straight, fine, thinning and frazzled hair. I came out with smooth, clean cut, beautifully highlighted hair. I am elated! I didn't know anyone here. I decided to just make an appointment and let fate take its' course. I did select this salon as the owner was part of the salon tragedy in Seal Beach a few years ago; I wanted to support his efforts. My stylist, Krishna, was amazing. She was kind, understanding and really went out of her way to give extra care and detail while highlighting my hair. I highly recommend this salon and will return the next time I am in town. read more

I have been a customer of Avalon's for over five years, and she is THE BEST. I have not only followed her to Studio One via three other salons, but I have flown cross-country from Boston to get my hair done! She has coloured my hair blonde, red and dark brown, cut it short and long, and they have ALL looked awesome!! She is one of those hair dressers who you can say, "Just do whatever you think is best" and trust it will be amazing. On top of that, she is just super cool and great to chat to, and it's actually possible to get a good appointment without scheduling months in advance. read more

After hitting menopause and my hairdresser if 25 plus years passing away unexpectedly two years ago, I have been increasingly unhappy with what's left of my super fine, processed blonde hair. My precious well-meaning boyfriend pounded the pavement on Main Street in our town and I found Kelli at Studio One. Thank God! This woman is not only not a "12 year old" stylist, but also has a grip on the challenge of styling hair for women over 50. Today was my third appointment with Kelli and I am happy to report that after (per Kelli's advice) hiding my evil flat iron and taking more care of my extremely angry and fragile tresses, my hair is on its way to being healthy once again. Kelli's specialty is very fine hair, which helped me relax when we discussed color and cut. What a blessing! Studio One has a very laid back vibe and everyone is kind and accommodating. SO grateful for this find!! read more

I recently went to Studio One in a state of desperation about my unruly, unmanageable and damaged hair. My stylist, Jess carefully listened to my past experiences with different keratin treatments and to the vision that I had for my hair. I am very happy to say that I walked out with exactly what I envisioned and what my hair needed. Jess was very patient and lovely to converse with. Thank you Jess for giving me confidence in Keratin treatments again. You're a hair rockstar! read more

I'm so happy I found Kelli at Studio One! The stylist I had for years moved an hour + drive away, so I needed to find someone new. After trying a few others, with mediocre to disastrous results, I finally found Kelli. She really knows what she's doing. I get a light brown base color to cover those pesky grays, plus blonde highlights, and it always looks natural, with nice depth. She gives me a layered bob that is super cute and modern. She always has good suggestions, and her rates are very affordable. Customer for life! read more

I had a co worker refer me to Avalon at Studio One. I have a lot of gray hair and one of my daughters is getting married next week and It was suggested to me that I should get a new Do for the wedding. I am so glad I went to Avalon and this studio. First of all the studio is the cutest shop I've ever been in, everyone is amazingly nice. Avalon is seriously the coolest person. I told her what I was thinking but I also gave her free reign to do what she thought would look best. I am so happy with the outcome. I feel like I look years younger. I will continue to come back to Avalon to keep my blonde up. Maybe Blonde's do have more fun read more

When I am in SB and am in need of a color, touch up, trim and or products I always go here. Claudie Shouse does a phenomial job. I look like a before and after when I leave. She is very sweet and particular about doing a professional finished look.Don't worry if you are visiting and do not go here on a regular basis, you will be treated like you do. The interior of the salon is very inviting and casual yet comfortable. It's not a loud noisy type of salon . Nobody is yelling at each other or telling jokes over the hum of a blow dryer. The front desk receptionist is very nice and prompt. If you need products , the selection is extensive. I also noticed some skin care items on the well stocked shelves. Relaxing with an Ocean breeze. Gotta love that too. read more

My stylist Gladys just moved to this salon from Newport Beach, CA. She is one of the best stylists I have ever had (I am a former hairdresser who worked for Sassoon). She specializes in color, cutting and styling. I have recommended several friends who are very happy too! This is a well managed salon with highly talented stylists. I would recommend any stylist to do your hair. Of course my favorite is Gladys and I have been going to her for a couple of years since I moved to Newport Beach. Yep, it's worth the drive for me to go to Seal Beach for this salon. All staff are warm and friendly. You will feel pampered and well taken care of. read more

I have been going to my hairstylist for many many years. When he moved to this salon I was wary of change but he's been there a while now and it's a great salon to visit. They're helpful with making appointments, always call with a reminder, and have reasonable prices for hair products. I've never had problems finding a parking spot on the side street and it's always a pleasure to walk in Seal Beach, it's never a very far walk. Since going there with Chris I've also had my hair done by Amber and she did a great job. If you're looking for someone to cut curly hair and not make it too short I can't say enough good about Chris. read more

Friday the 15th, absolutely one of the worst hair salon experiences I have had by a 15 year veteran in the business named Sabrina. I called the shop Tuesday after having texted Sabrina and not being satisfied with her response. Whoever answered the phone that day assured me the owner would be told and that I would be hearing from her with a solution. Friday the 22nd when I had yet to hear back from the owner, I called and now was told that she would not be back until Tuesday the 26th. How long does one have to wait for a response? I had explained in length how my hair was an anomaly and that I had a strong dislike for the balayage look. My words obviously fell on deaf ears. I got exactly the opposite. I look like the before picture. Five torturous hours later, heading to the register to pay, the ticket had already been written up. Sabrina said it was $265.00 and then made the comment "I would have charged you more." I was taken aback that she would even utter those words. Apparently she works on commission. It made me feel obligated and bad for her, that when I gave her $300.00 and she asked for change, I said keep it. UGH So today is Saturday, My hair feels dry, brittle with a look that I am very distressed over. Help me please. read more

I love this place and I love Claudie a lot! ) She does the magic. I wanted an unusual modern asymmetric haircut and did not really know who can do it. And I asked some friends for a referral and found Claudie. She does classic and modern hair great. But honestly I was still not 100% confident trying what I wanted - usually I had long dark hair, this time I went for the short blond. So Claudie did magic to me! I love my hair so much! They look great. It's going to be the 3rd time I'm going to her tomorrow and I'm so excited ). The salon is great too. I love the interior style. It's so modern and rustic with the exposed brick walls. And the personnel! Everyone is so nice, they seem like a big family ). read more

I'm very grateful I found Krishna and this hair salon. I have been coloring my hair for over 30 years and she is the best colorist I have ever found! And I have been to some very fancy, high-end, ridiculously expensive salons in my day. My hair comes out much better here with Krishna and for less than half the price! With my previous hair dresser, it was pretty much hit and miss. Sometimes it was great.... sometimes.... not so much. I have never had a bad experience with Krishna. I always leave here happy. Krishna is a very highly skilled, artistic professional. A perfectionist to be exact. She listens to everything I say, asks questions and goes above and beyond to get the results I want. I really could not be happier. Make an appointment with Krishna, you will be glad you did! read more

I called and spoke to Joanie, asking for an experienced hair dresser for curly hair. I trusted her, since this was my first time there. I thought the salon would want knew customers. My hair was cut dry which was a give away, but I figured that once dried she would even it out when wet. Bottom line my hair is uneven and shorter, which means I have to wait. Oh and no product, moose or gel. Oh and she used a thin comb, which brings out frizz in curly hair! Next time someone asks for a certain type of experience...Be honest! The one star is out of kindness. She was pleasant. I am not happy and clearly won't recommend your salon! read more

I let this chic Avalon cut my hair. She's pretty cool and did a great job. So yeah, Avalon rocks.

Gladys Arguelles, was amazing and very professional! She asked me the right questions and put me at ease right away . I have been to other hairstylists and they lacked the knowledge and charisma to feel like you are in capable hands. I came to Gladys to do my hair colour and cut. She did an amazing job and I would highly recommend. Will definitely come back again. read more

I needed to find a new stylist and quick because I was over due for color and cut when I found out the gal I had been going to had stopped doing hair..... with no notice. So what did I do, I yelped "best hair salons in Seal Beach". Studio One came up and I read a few of the reviews that were written about Krishna. I called and got an appointment for that same week and I have been incredibly happy ever since with the results that Krishna gives me. I never have trouble styling my hair because Krishna is such a perfectionist when it comes to cutting hair as she is also with her color. She spends whatever time she needs to be sure you get exactly what you ask for. I am so happy I found Studio One and Krishna. Seriously, give them a try, you won't be sorry! read more

I made an appointment with Gladys for a color correction. I was a little unsure how it would turn out since I had so much dark, and red in my hair. Let me just say that she is amazing! She not only got the dark colors removed, she did it without damaging my hair! She highlighted my hair and gave me a cute layered cut. I absolutely love my hair and have gotten so many compliments. I will definitely be back! If you're looking for a great stylist and colorist, Gladys is your girl! read more

I was visiting my mother-in-law in Seal Beach and decided to get my haircut and colored. I had made an appointment with another stylist but received a late night text that she would not be able to keep her appointment and she gave me the number of another salon(that seemed weird to me). Either way I came in the next day and the very nice lady at the front desk made an appointment for me with Claudi Shouse and wow I loved her. She was professional and found out what I wanted, what I do with my hair to keep it up and even gave me pointers to keep my hair smooth at home! My haircut and color were age appropriate(46yrs old) but modern too. My only complaint is that I don't live near by here and will have to wait for my next trip to see my MIL. Please go to Claudie!!!! Oh and my daughter went in the next day to get her hair done, she is 7! read more

I wanted someone with experience so they book my appointment with GLADYS. She was really nice and professional. The lovely Avalon cuts my hair, as well as my hubby's... he's the one who introduced me to Studio One after having known Kelli and being a client for more than 20 years. Avalon is spunky and talented. She isn't afraid to experiment with different looks if you are feeling adventurous, and she's very warm and intuitive. If you're in the mood for chatting, she's a great conversationalist; however, if you just want to chill while she does your hair, she takes note. Avalon is an absolute gem and she has honed her craft! She always makes me look and feel like a million bucks. Highly recommend! read more

Krishna's the best! She really knows what she's doing with color and long hair.. I highly recommend her.

I had the best haircut in years here, done by Amber. She also colored my hair, but I wanted it bright orange, and she didn't have the "crazy" color that I wanted. She colored it as bright red as she had, and said if I want it even brighter, to come back and she'd get the stronger dye for me and she'd dye it for free. Well, I came back in a week, and she did it, and it looks great! She used a razor to cut my hair and gave it very nice texture. Prices are reasonable - it cost me $90 for a haircut, color, and styling. It would have been slightly cheaper in Supercuts, but I was never as happy with the result before. Great place, great stylist. read more

I came to Studio One just for Alexi Cobb and her amazing eyebrow skills. Not only did Alexi clean up my haphazard eyebrows we decided to add in the eyebrow extensions as well. I have been back twice now and I can't tell you how much I love not having to pencil in my eyebrows every morning! They look so great and have helped me to just wake up and go with the kids in the morning instead of worrying about having a full face of makeup done. Just to add: not only did Alexi do an amazing job she is also just too adorable for words. Love her! Marci read more
