Original : I know the stylists have their own way of booking or dealing with affairs apart of the salon but I think it's wild they have a rebooking fee of over $30 if client has to reschedule last minute their appointments BUT when I get my appointment canceled TWICE by the stylist ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT , due to "family emergencies" that apparently always happen. I think it's wild that a stylist can waste a clients time and day considering the first time it was canceled I had planned to get my hair cut before my birthday trip and today it got canceled I had just told my boss no to coming in for a shift because of my scheduled appointment ... what do we clients get in return besides wasted time and lost money ? At least she returned my $20 deposit that has been kept since August but damn , homegirl really needs to take care of home before taking appointments , we have a life out here too.

Heather was able to read me well. The hair washing experience is pretty new to me ( i haven't had a cut in 2ish years) and it was so soothing. As she cut my hair she was explaining the steps being taken. Everyone else there also seemed super nice. They were laughing with each other and with their clients. I genuinely felt comfortable. My hair came out exactly how I asked. She just read me like a book. I got so many compliments from the other stylists and from my friends at work. I felt super confident with my cut. While I would consider myself a new client at Effie & Co., I'd like to think I know a little something about hair (no, I'm not a stylist- but I've been getting my haircut for the past twenty-something years). I know what like, and I like what I get at Effie & Co. The shop itself should be considered a part of 2nd Street history (the shop opened back in the early 70s!). And while I'm sure the "Co." has changed throughout the years, her current team of stylists are top-notch (all Vidal Sassoon Precision Cut/Color/Style trained) and know how to really cut hair. I've gone to Michael for a few months now and always leave the shop feeling like a million (and a half) bucks. I'll admit that I suck at giving direction, yet Michael has always gotten it just right and has given me a great- no, a perfect haircut every time. Effie also has her own line of products... I love the shampoo and mint hair mask for the shower, and use the texture paste for my everyday hair. Everything is reasonably priced and total salon-quality. And it looks like Effie updated her website recently, too. The old site was a bit archaic, but it looks like the price list, products and stylist pages all reflect what's actually going on at the shop now, not 10 years ago. Good update. Also, since you're just going to delete: I called all of this years ago. Lynn, usage of a pic I took, and the absolute denial disregarding a stupid amount of irrefutable evidence and a certain hillbilly's loose lips, a friend you literally pay to keep. I tried out Effie and Company for the first time and was soo happy that I did!! The stylist who did my hair was named Hannah And she was fabulous! She was so nice and friendly and gave her honest opinion, which is hard to find sometimes. She did a cut and color and it turned out beautifully! My hai color has yet to look this good. Amanda Flores has been coloring and styling my hair since she was licensed. She has amazing talent and really makes the hair experience relaxing and pampering. Amanda is the only stylist I go to.
