He also offered me coffee and a little pineapple cake snack which really added a nice touch. My appointment was on the weekend, and it wasn't crowded at all. Everyone inside the salon was wearing masks, which made me feel really safe. The area is also really nice to walk around after to get some brunch or coffee! I received services from both Toby and David in one sitting. This is my first time dying my natural hair. I explained this to both Toby and David. Prior to my appointment, I sent photos from their own Yelp reviews of the hair color I wanted to achieve. I was aiming for an ash brown color which I was told could not be done in one sitting due to the fact that I had natural Asian hair that has never been dyed before. I was told by Toby and David that it would take multiple sessions. They showed me a photo of chocolate brown hair color which is the closest they could do for the first session. I was okay with the chocolate brown hair color. At the end of my session, I was completely shocked when my hair came out bleach blonde. I went from natural dark brown hair to a rubbery, fine, bleach blonde hair down to the roots. I could not believe I was blonde. It was so incredibly far off the photo I was presented with. I was polite and thanked them but it was not what I wanted at all. This cost me $500 cash. They do not accept card. After about a month of suffering and researching what I could possibly do, I even contacted them on ways to fix both the texture and color. They set me up to dye my hair back to a dark brown. The first thing I told them was that I do not want a red brown color, I want a more natural brown color. I came out with red brown hair. They charged me $100 for this session. Cash, as they do not accept card. After many more months of crying due to the texture, color, and emotional trauma from this experience and failure to realize the scam they put me through (after speaking to other people that have more experience getting their hair done and other stylists who do hair color), I decided to try and get my money back. After writing to them about my experience, I was told to call to discuss getting my refund. I responded letting them know that I would like my refund back. I did not receive any messages back. I tried sending another message and have noticed that I have been blocked. When I initially messaged them on the phone number listed on their yelp regarding my appointment, my messages were sending blue (iMessage to iMessage). Now, my messages are sent green. When I checked this on my husband's phone, the message sends blue. Its apparent that they have blocked me. Their responses on Yelp are only to appear as if they are dealing with the issue but they do not actually follow through. The more I think about my experience, the more upset I feel that people like this can get away with treating people this way. I wish I did not take services from a business that only accepts cash so that the consumer cannot dispute funds. I wish I stood up for myself and was more vocal about my hair at the end of my appointment rather than timid and reserved. I wish I did not go back to them or listen to their advice on fixing the color and texture of my hair. Ultimately, I wish I never met both Toby and David and never experienced the worst service in my life. I hope no one else has to experience what I went through. Please avoid this place by any means possible. They do not provide you the quality, results, or customer service that you pay for. read more

David has been cutting my hair for 4 years now and I am so happy each time I visit. I actually won't go to any other salon. He is incredibly talented and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome at the salon. My favorite cut is the angled, short-hair bob cut and he always does a phenomenal job with it. Practically every single time, I'll get a ton of compliments from family, friends, and even complete strangers. His salon used to be located on Brookhurst and Edinger in Westminster (Hair 2001), but he has since moved to a new location in Seal Beach. I really like his new salon - it is just relaxing inside and makes a simple hair cut feel like a day-spa experience. Note that it may be a little tricky to find his salon.
