I used to live in Pasadena & had a very great hair stylist but since I've been loving in LB for five years I decided to find a place close by. Based on the reviews I made an appointment for color & hair cut with Sean in May. My first visit was nice, the color was much darker than I wanted but it still looked ok. He did a great job with the haircut, didn't cut too short or too little. I made my second appointment for six weeks later, again pleasant experience even though he didn't cut my hair as short as I asked. He also told me about Keratin treatment he does for curly hair. He said it costs $250 but the products he uses is great & lasts for up to six months. So I made an appointment to go in. When I got there he said he ran out of products, so we rescheduled for the Thursday. He did the Keratin on July 21st and told me to use Sulfate free shampoo & not wash my hair for two days. So I went to Sally Supplies and bought two Sulfate free Shampoos & one sulfate free conditioner. I washed my hair after 5 days & my hair was as curly as before. Though not as frizzy. I texted Sean but he was out of the country. He text me back when he arrived & said He'll look at it when I go in for my haircut in 6 weeks! When I went in he looked at my hair & said "wow this is really curly, ok I have to redo it". He gave me an appointment for a three weeks layer but unfortunately I got very sick & cancelled twice. Then Sean got sick & cancelled on me. Then I was leaving town because I accepted a job so All these let to an appointment for Nov.21, which I went to but he forgot & did not show up. Still I was calm, it happens.
The part that changed my experience started here where on Monday we tried to reschedule another day but I informed him that I am leaving town & Mondays don't work for. I asked for a date that I could go in or refund. After going back and forth for three days through text he kept saying I can do it on Mondays & I cannot give you a refund. I explained that I would go on a Monday but how can I when I'm not here? Anyway what upset me & pushed me over the edge was that I received a text from Sean blaming me for the product not working! Saying: "The job was done 6 months ago and you told me two months after the job I never had any problem with my keratin treatment and as a matter of fact I am redoing this as a curtesy otherwise this is not a service that takes or no takes. It's always the same result. What most likely happened was you washed your hair with regular shampoo despite of me insisting you need a sulfate free shampoo and it striped off the keratin and of course I knew that but I still agreed to do it again."
When I saw this text I got very upset & went over to the Salon with my shampoo bottles & conditioner. Not only is he making up dates, he is assuming that I used the wrong shampoo & then he says he knew that but said he would redo it! Excuse me? I reminded him that I did text him right after but he was out of the country & he told me to wait until I go in for my haircut appointment. Second I used a sulfate free shampoo & conditioner. So this is what happened next, he said no you didn't, you told me months after & you cancelled on me so many times & it's been 8 months since your treatment! I never cancelled on you. So first he says its been 6 months, now it's 8' I showed him the text messages but he still denied them! Then took my shampoo bottles shaking them saying these are half full, you didn't use this shampoo!!! I wash my hair once a week & my products last a while!
He Said he could do my hair now! By now I just wanted to get out of there but not without a refund! He said I can't give you your money back the treatment always works. "Take your products and leave, I'm not giving you a refund, what are you gonna do sue me?"! I was standing there upset & shaking! Amazed that this guy is blaming me for this when I didn't point fingers ever! So here I am getting blamed & accused of using the wrong shampoo & telling him 6 months later &...... He ended up just redoing it then. What he did different is that instead of leaving the product in for 20minutes like first time he left it in for 40! 20 is minimum & 1 hour is max! So hey maybe he didn't leave the product in long enough the first time! I am so upset at how I was talked to & blamed for a $250 service that did not take on my hair. I was very polite & did not deserve to be blamed & disrespected. Never going back. The other people at the Salon seem very nice, Tony is the owner & he was also there. He listened & was very polite & tried to calm the situation not help solve it, which I understand. So here you have it.
Oh & lets be clear if I did my hair on July 17 & I texted him, which he received 15 days later because he was out of the country that's not 2 months! & from August to November does not equal 8 months or 6 months!!! Who does that? Blame the customer & make up dates specially when I have proof of all the messages, with dates, & time! read more
