I have mixed feeling to be honest. The person who did my hair was very sweet which made this review hard to write. My hair came out pretty, but it wasn't what I asked for. - Cut: The layers weren't done well so it sort of resembles a long mullet at times...kind of a mushroom shape effect. Feels like I have only 2 layers I'm descent with hair so can mask it a bit with curls. - The highlights are fine but they are old school/ going to root all over and not the ballyage effect I asked for. That said, they were blended nicely. - The color is red/orange which bothers me more than the cut. I said multiple times I didnt want red or warm... my whole head, not just the highlights, got toned a fairly strong red hugh. I invested in blue and purple shampoos trying to tone it down. It helped a bit. I did give her feedback but I don't want to go back to get it fixed because I've been back once already and I'm not confident in her ability to fix it at this point. She did offer to try again. I think i gotta wait this one out a few months and then get a trim and/or tone from someone else. Facility was cute and clean, free parking out back. Waited a month to give the review as I wanted to give it time to settle in. read more

Very HAPPY I made an appointment here!!! This morning I woke up and knew I had to get my hair professionally cut. The night before I took scissors to my hair and cut 80% of it lol. I been wanting to go short for a while and needed the inspiration lol. So I called them up after eating breakfast and they can get me in. I didn't have time for makeup or dressing cute, otherwise I was never gonna make it on time. I do like getting cute for the salon so the hairdresser can tell my style. Got there, parked on the side street and walked to the salon. The vibe was chic and relax, super cute decorated for the holiday. Monick was my hairdresser. She looks so much like my sister in law!!! Her hair is gorgeous and her makeup was very beautiful. She let me know that she needed to clean her station since she just finished her previous appointment. No worries with me, I was a bit early. She came to get me, I showed her the pics of the pixie cut I wanted. She did an AWESOME job!!!! I didn't think I would like it as much as I did since I usually wear my hair past my waist lol. I got my hair blown out and straightened on a Friday morning. My hair stylist was 30 minutes late that made me late to two appointments since my appointment was set for 9am but I was still in her chair at 11:10. I have curly hair and communicated with the stylist that i wanted it straight and treated enough to withstand a quick walk on ocean ave. She made a product recc for me to bring but the stylist didn't use the right products to make my hair hold the style: I left looking poofy and frizzy. I paid $80 for something i had to wash out same day. And the apt literally messed up my day. 10/10 don't recommend this place. read more

Highly recommend this place to anyone. The hair dresser is so gentle. My hair was very dry after the last high light. She added gloss for my hair and removed the brassiness in my very bleached and white blond hair. Also, she did a light brown root and not a full black root. I've been going to this hair salon for a couple years now and I love it here. I've had both Alecia and Mia do my hair and both stylists are great! It's pretty easy to book an appointment with them too. Alecia was very good with her balayage stuff and I've always been happy with the results. And with Mia, I wanted to try her out because I loved her portfolio of all her clients hair on her IG. I would definitely recommend either ladies! The staff is very hospitable as well. They'll offer some refreshments to you since we know a trip to the hair salon could be an all day thing lol. I also love that they give head massages while they wash your hair! Mixed review here. I looove the way my highlights come out every time I book w Nicole. She's very polite, professional, prompt and knows her stuff. Problem is, we're in the height of a COVID wave, (my appt was 12/3/2020) and the other stylist in the salon (not mine) didn't wear a mask, nor did she have their clients wear them. Nicole has been cutting my hair for about 10 years now and I wouldn't have it any other way! She is great with men's haircuts and I would suggest anyone who prefers a shorter style to book with her. Plus she usually colors my hair slightly to help blend in the grays with my naturally dark hair and it turns out great! "When your hair gets touched by an angel, you've experienced a miracle" this is what I felt after Ariel was done with my hair. I had booked a cut and balayage appt with Ariel after seeing her works on Instagram. I knew The Haven Salon had many talented stylist and Ariel had an opening. Our appt was at 8am and she greeted me with a smile and was very welcoming. I showed her some pictures but I told her to "Do her thing". I had that much trust in her abilities and boy it payed off! I wanted an ashy brown-blonde balayage, but she was honest that "she could take it there" but at the expense of my hair. I like how honest she is, most stylist would say yes and then let the client live with the damage. Ariel isnt one of them, which is a breath of fresh "hair" this is phase 1 and I cant wait for Phase 2 with ariel! I knew my hair was healthy because it still felt soft and had dimensions. She specializes in color, haircuts, hair extensions, and eyelash extensions as well. I always ask for purple ombré and she delivers. I wanted eyelash extensions and I was satisfied.
