She made me feel so comfortable, was super friendly, and kept me updated on everything she was doing throughout the entire appointment. I think I honestly overpaid for what I asked for. Although my haircut is nice, it's not entirely what I asked for even after I showed a reference photo. She didn't style my hair at the end. I also just did not quite enjoy my experience here. Two people were blow drying my hair at the same time, which was rather overwhelming. On top of this, another stylist came over to talk to the stylist doing my hair, and they kept talking about my ethnicity. I told them I was Filipino, but they kept saying I looked like other races.... It didn't sit with me the right way. I understand maybe they were trying to compliment me, but it didn't come across that way. The other stylist meant to compliment my nose, but that also came across the wrong way because she said something along the lines of, "It's like you have silicone," or something along the lines of having plastic surgery. I paid $119, which is usually fine for me. The haircut is nice, but I believe I overpaid to receive this experience here. I'm not asking for a refund, or my money back or anything, but I don't think I'm coming back. But, the assistant hair stylist who washed my hair was very nice, and very gentle. Just looking for a stylist since moving to town. I wanted somebody that was good with Asian hair and I stumbled upon The Salon. I called to ask about their services and for the price and I was referred to Jaimee. I wanted a LOB which was her specialty. It was quick to make an appointment and I even had to change my appointment and they were able to accommodate me. The haircut was really good and Jaimee listened to what I needed and took inspiration from the photo I took. My cut included a shampoo, blowdry, hair straightening and a quick curl. Uyen was professional, friendly, and took the time to thoroughly go over what I was requesting. I would definitely recommend Uyen as a stylist. I came in today for a haircut and balayage. After discussing everything and reviewing the reference picture I provided, Uyen gave me a quote of approximately $500. I was honestly shocked by the price. I understand that salons have different pricing structures and that stylists may work on commission, but I feel customers should be made aware of the expected price range before booking the appointment, especially when a reference photo has already been provided. If I had known the balayage and haircut would cost around $500, I would not have made the appointment. That price simply isn't practical for my budget, and I can find comparable services elsewhere for about half the price. My advice to anyone considering this salon: make sure you get a detailed price quote over the phone before booking. Don't assume the price will be within a reasonable range based on the photos or services listed. Thank you, Uyen, for my haircut and for being professional throughout the appointment. However, I would not recommend this salon to my friends or family because of the pricing. Seeing that she's a Level 4 Stylist (the highest level at The Salon) gave me confidence that she could help me achieve exactly what I was looking for. After checking out her Instagram and seeing her beautiful work, I texted Jaimee to set up an appointment. She replied promptly, and we scheduled a consultation and haircut for the very next day -- I loved how easy she made the process. My hair had been very long and straight for quite a while (see "before" photo), and I was ready for a change -- something easier to maintain but still stylish. I told Jaimee I was thinking of a lob (long bob) with an A-line cut for a more modern look. She asked if I had any photos, and when I showed her my inspiration pictures, she immediately said she loved the style and that it would look great on me. During the consultation, Jaimee explained exactly what she planned to do and why, giving me options for two different lengths. I was a little nervous since I was cutting off about eight inches, but I felt completely comfortable in her hands -- and I'm so glad I trusted her! She was incredibly meticulous and precise, making sure my layers and angles worked perfectly whether I part my hair left, center, or right. I always book with Uyen, she's the best! She's attentive to your hair goals then she meets you in the middle to achieve a realistic outcome based on your current hair texture and color in the healthiest looking way possible! I had an appointment today with Violet. All I wanted was a cut and color. Before booking, I called and spoke with the appointment coordinator and specifically requested Violet because I liked her photos and reviews. I was told she was a tier-3 stylist and that my hair would not cost more than $200. When I arrived and met with Violet, she told me she could only do permanent color on my roots and semi-permanent color on the rest of my hair, stating there was absolutely no way to remove the remaining brown already in my hair. She explained that I would need to return every 8 weeks for additional semi-permanent color until the brown was gone -- which, given the length of my hair, would take years. This approach did not make sense to me. She then quoted me $300, which already exceeded what I had been told. When I mentioned the original estimate, she went on a long explanation justifying the pricing rather than addressing the discrepancy. The breakdown she gave me was: * $86 for a haircut * $125 for root color (even though my root growth was minimal) * $120 for semi-permanent color That totals $331 before tip, which was very different from the estimate I was given over the phone. Because of the confusion and pricing, I said I would prefer to only get a haircut, as I truly needed one. At that point, her demeanor completely changed. She repeatedly said she "didn't have time" and said she would "just do long layers." This made me uncomfortable, especially since my appointment was scheduled for 10:00 AM and only 30 minutes had passed, most of which had been spent discussing pricing. I decided to leave rather than risk receiving a rushed or poor-quality cut or being charged unexpectedly. I was very disappointed with the entire experience and will not be returning. She also mentioned that the person who gave me my original estimate was "located in China," which further added to my concerns about professionalism and scam. That was beeeefore I saw my hair. That's the first time I've been so angry that I didn't count my money out & accidentally left a 50% tip. So, that happened. Yuen's work, on a separate note, is worth it, as u can see from the photos of her portfolio on this business page & her instagram (suggestion to her: include 'before' shots/side-by-sides so potential customers can see what the beginning looked like). I booked a haircut with Jaimee earlier this week and was incredibly happy with her services. This was my first time at The Salon and I walked in to a very upbeat and clean space, where I was greeted kindly by the receptionist before being taken back to a chair. I had been going to a different salon in Cypress for several years and decided to find a new one after being disappointed with my last few appointments. My hair is pretty long and I love having a lot of layers to help with volume and movement, and my last salon just wasn't giving me what I wanted. Yelp didn't let me down -- I was able to book an appointment with Jaimee within a couple days and left the salon feeling beautiful and much lighter, as she took out a lot of extra weight from my hair. Jaimee even round brushed my hair at the end for the perfect blow out look, which I appreciated. My last salon would only straighten or use a curling wand -- never the blow out look I asked for.
