A lot of my friends recommended this salon, and I've been wanting to check it out for a while -- I'm so glad I finally did! It was time for me to dye my hair, and I showed Yuni and Izzy the color I wanted. They truly went above and beyond to make it happen! The salon itself is super clean and bright -- it honestly felt like I was in Korea. Yuni and Izzy were both so sweet and welcoming from the moment I walked in. From the consultation to the dyeing process, the relaxing hair massage, and all the way to the end, everything felt smooth and well-organized. They work quickly but still pay attention to detail, which I really appreciated. There's also plenty of parking, which makes it even more convenient. This has been my go-to salon since they opened! I knew of Yuni since she was at another salon and was so happy to hear she was opening her own salon. When I came over, I got a few cuts done by Jina as well and I'm very happy with all of her cuts as well. I didn't realize how good this salon had been taking care of my hair until I got a haircut in Korea (one of the JUNO locations, given by the SENIOR hair stylist) last May. The quality difference was very visible. I went and got my haircut today since my cut from Korea had finally grown out and Jina restored my layers to be less scraggly and stringy without sacrificing too much of the length. The best salon ever! I always come here when it's time to get a trim. Yuni and Jina are the sweetest, and no matter who cuts your hair, the amount of love in their practice is clear in the way they cut. Their background is in Korean-style techniques so you KNOW it's gonna be good. Got my hair done by Jina this time and it was perfect! She even took the time to curl the ends in and treat my bangs with gel so they'd stay in place. Extremely professional and knowledgeable, plus the location itself is very clean. If you're open to it, they can recommend styles that look good with your features but will ultimately respect whatever you decide on. It's hard to find a place that does short haircuts well, so this salon is such a hidden gem and I would recommend it with my whole heart! I booked a straight perm with Yuni and she did an incredible job! Both Yuni and Jina are so friendly, welcoming, and talented! I have gotten many straight perms before and I think this is my favorite salon now. Yuni really took her time to make sure it was perfect and took extra care on my long dry ends. I am absolutely in love with my new haircut by Jina! She did exactly what I asked for and even provided suggestions. She's super sweet and professional! She gave me styling tips when she styled my hair. I don't think anyone has ever done that when I've gotten haircuts in the past. The salon is cute and clean. Wash station chairs are comfortable and so are the robes they provide. Scheduling an appointment through their website was easy. They also have late appointments, which is convenient for us 9-5ers. 10/10 highly recommend! I'll be scheduling all future hair care needs with Jina. read more

As I am writing this review, I am beaming and still in awe of the service I have experienced from Salon El Tov with specifically Jina aka THE QUEEN and my new favorite hair stylist! Living near the Artesia area, I needed a last minute trim for upcoming events. My mom recommended I try this place after she drove by it a couple of times and saw the 5 star reviews written on Yelp. Looking back, boy am I so grateful to have taken the plunge to call this salon because I had the pleasure of being helped by Queen Jina! I called around 4:30pm not expecting a last minute opening since I noticed the salon closed at 6pm, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Jina was so kind to answer right away and allow me to come to the salon around 5:30pm. Upon entering the salon, it looked very new, open, and clean. I especially loved the bright mirrors! There were two other guys getting perms next to me from Jina and as soon as she had some time to come to me, Jina was so kind, friendly, warm, and receptive to what I wanted from my inspiration pics. She also gave me her inputs of how she wanted to do my hair, and I was all for it! Secondly, she informed me that as she needed to finish the perms of the two guys next to me, but while waiting, she would be giving me a complimentary hair treatment as I wait to make my hair smooth and silky, and I was in just purely in awe :,) I was thinking wow she did not have to do this, especially since I was able to come super last minute. With her being the last stylist to handle 3 people, she even went out of her way to make sure the 3 of us were ok/needed water/food and gave us some snacks and water even if I told her it was totally fine since I knew she was busy with the other 2 guys. As soon as she finished with them, it was a little past when the salon closed, but Jina still took her time to make sure my hair was beautiful and smooth like it is now! We even got to know each other a bit, and with someone who is naturally shy, Jina was so easy to talk to! Finally, as we got to the counter, she gave me complimentary travel size shampoo/conditioner for my hair since I had told her I had an upcoming event. With this being my first time as well, she even also gave me a $20 discount, which was truly, again, so amazing of her because she was just the epitome of amazing, especially with taking me so last minute! Overall, I am just so so grateful for her 5 star service. If could give her 10 stars, I would! @Jina, you are amazing in every way and more! Thank you for making me feel so welcomed and comfortable especially with this being my first time in a new salon where it can be a little intimidating and scary. I am so glad my mom encouraged me to try this place - I will now be telling all my friends and family about this place! Amazing 5 star service and just 5 star vibes overall. I cannot wait to come back and see her again for my hair needs! read more

Jina is the sweetest stylist I've ever met. My husband and I made an appointment online on a Saturday afternoon, same day, with Jina. Upon entering the salon we were warmly welcomed and offered refreshments and snacks while we waited. My husband got a black coffee, and I got the Korean tea that Jina reccomended. The interior is cozy, with warm lighting, great music, and a cute waiting area. Everyone here is very professional, prompt, and super kind! Jenny shampooed, washed, and dried our hair. My husband mentioned he received a nice scalp massage after his cut too. Jenny also gave me helpful tips on how to keep moisture in my hair with hair masks. Jina was our hairstylist, and she is so friendly and sweet! My husband and I are very happy with the cut and style she gave us. She even taught me how to style my curtain bangs and recommended products to use, which I really appreciated! If I could give zero stars I would. Lin A Lee did my hair and completely destroyed my hair. She first bleached my roots out entirely when I asked for a highlight and even showed her a picture then she put a toner on my hair that turned it a gray purple color and when I told her that wasn't right and what was happening? she proceeded to take the toner out of my hair with a chemical color remover and then tone my hair two more times which turned it. Orange bright orange. They were not able to fix it. My scalp is burned from the over processing. I have a blister on the top of my head and now I have to go spend more time and money getting this fixed. I would definitely be aware of going to the salon stay far far away not to mention I left my sweater at the salon and now I can't get it back. There is no way this place is licensed and regulated. I'll be calling the board, better business bureau and posting on every outlet I possibly can. She destroyed, ruined and obliterated my hair, my job possibly because there are very strict rules about hair color and my life for the foreseen future. I now have to spend $600 or more on a correction. read more

I asked for some layers (showed example pictures) and longer face framing in the front. She (Lin) gave me no layers at all and no face framing layers in the front like I asked and showed in the pictures. Kept saying I should part my hair on the other side to get more volume, then proceeded to cut hair with the way she wanted even after asking her numerous times to show me what it would look like when I do it with my normal part. She kept saying I will show you later and after repeatedly asking for the same thing and finally just doing it myself (parting my hair as I normally do) to see the cut, she had already cut my "face framing" too short and no way to fix it at this point. I thought it would be a simple cut as I wasn't asking for anything extra ordinary, asked for simple layers and face framing which I thought every hair-styler knows by now since this is so popular nowadays, I didn't even ask for lots of layers like most people. Then after it was already done I asked again for some layers in the back, she said I have fine hair and layers won't look good (even though I have been doing lots of layers for years). It's ok to have that opinion however she should have mentioned that before she started cutting my hair, and if she wasn't skilled to do what I asked as a client that would have also been great to know beforehand and I would have gone to another salon. $70 for haircut + $20 tip - I would have happily paid a lot more if the haircut was good, although $70 is normal nowadays hairstylist should know how to do at least the basic haircuts. Also take 2-3 mins before starting, to talk to the client to understand what they are asking for and provide recommendations, be honest if what the client is asking for is not going to look good, BEFORE starting to cut and allow the client to make the choice to stay or leave. Dont say yes you understand and you can do it and completely ignore the client's request and do whatever you want. Worst experience I have ever had! read more

Had a wonderful experience with Jina! I am no stranger to getting my hair dyed, and after many years & $$$ I really wanted to go natural for a while. I had overgrown partially bleached hair (like small patch) and I was pretty tempted to try to tone it darker myself as a lot of stylists charge a pretty penny even if it's a small section. However after some research I didn't want to risk coming out with uneven blotched hair color, plus I really needed a cut and found Salon el Tov! They were luckily able to take me for a same day appointment and i let them know I had some time constraints and they were very accommodating (and finished early). She fixed up the bleached section to a dark brown & helped me lighten & match my natural grown out hair to make everything consistent (which no way I could do at home). I have pretty fine & thin hair so I'm really hesitant on haircuts especially if getting layers, and Jina was able to give me some light layers and did a great job! I'm really happy with the outcome & her customer service. There's free snacks and drinks offered too :) and in general the salon is very bright & comfortable to spend time in. Price can be found online when you book the appointment - and I found it very reasonable price especially for the quality of service. I got my hair done by Jina (followed her here from my old salon) and everything was so great! She was so kind, fun to talk to, and quick! I wasn't sure what color I wanted to do because I had bleached hair and wanted to do bright colors but was torn because I was graduating soon. So she was able to help me decide and we ended up doing a dark toner that would fade lighter. It came out so nice! The bleached picture is before and brown is after. The stylist who was supposed to do my pixie cut was still with another client, blow-drying her sopping wet bob-length hair, and didn't acknowledge me for quite a while. When he finally did, he said he would be finished in 15 minutes. I told him if it would take longer, I would rather not wait, especially since I had driven 35 minutes from Orange County (one way). I left briefly and came back at 3:15 pm, but he was still with the same client. A professional would have communicated a delay and respected the client's time. By 3:21 pm, when I decided to leave, he was still styling her hair with no end in sight. Meanwhile, another employee attempted to divert me by offering a shampoo. She handed me a robe that was far too small and insisted I wear it, even though I explained I didn't mind hair falling on my clothes since I was going to the gym afterward. I also mentioned my long drive, and she responded with an insincere comment about how "beautiful" the 91 freeway is--something that felt dismissive and patronizing. As she led me to the shampoo area, she rolled her eyes and made faces to a coworker. At that point, I stood up, told her not to make faces, and informed the stylist I was canceling my appointment. The entire atmosphere felt unprofessional and immature--more like a schoolyard than a salon. There was no customer service, no apology, and no manager present to address the situation. I genuinely feel bad for the salon owner, who may not even be aware of how poorly NEW clients are being treated.
