I called for a walk in appointment and Maritza gladly accepted. I have not cut my hair in almost 2 years and Maritza was amazing!! She did exactly what I wanted.. she gave me a hydration treatment which made my hair super soft (I swear it was the best)

Highly recommend MVM Salon. I have been loyal to Maritza, my hair stylist since 2021. I don't trust anyone else with my hair. She always does an exceptional job when it comes to transitioning me to different hair colors; highlights, blonde, copper and today I went in to darken my copper hair to brown copper. Like always she does an amazing job!

MVM is new to Artesia and is a great addition! Had an appt with Karen today and she performed a miracle coloring, cutting and styling my hair. Take my word, my hair wasn't looking too good before appt. The salon is welcoming and the added touches like the shampoo area seating makes you feel that staff put lots of thought into clients comfort. To top it off warm towels were used that made you feel like they just came out if the dryer. Prices are definitely reasonable for services and appointments are easily accessible. Go and enjoy a moment of relaxation while taking care of your hair.

Highly recommend this place. Very professional and clean interior. Most have long-term clients here for a reason. The clients' pictures you see, speak for themselves. You can tell that the owner/management really cares. For Men as well - a new barber just moved here, Linda - I got the best cut/fade I've had in 10 years. I made an appt with Linda through Booksy (google search). Very difficult finding a barber who has years of experience and actually helps you get what you're looking for. I've heard the most compliments about my cut, in a long time. Fades, line-ups, comb-overs, even kids' cuts - she can do them all. And also very kind and most fun to talk with. This is my 3'rd time coming to have my hair color that Maritza did but i have a worst experience this time. The water is hot or too cold, the blower is too hot into my scalp. My hair color is did not like it because it's not what i want and it's all white and breakable. It's seems she is rushing this time not much more time. I pay what she wanted for me to pay. We have long straight hair and essentially wanted a trim and bangs shortened to frame the face since they're as long as regular hair length. Place is clean and spacious and doesn't smell strongly of hair chemicals (though it was pretty empty at 10am). We had our hair washed and we both like our cuts. $60 adults and $40 child as of Jan 2025 so it's a little pricey for the child but it's convenient when I'm getting it done at the same time.

The only other person who's ever made my hair look this perfect was a stylist I went to in Japan. Violet is amazing at both cutting and coloring. Especially now, as we have all been impacted by an oligarchy improperly placed in the land of the free and home of the brave...how dare it raise its ugly head in this local beauty shop store. A good friend of mine, after utilizing her Inspector Gadget research skills to locate the perfect new texture, color, and style of hair to re-do her braids, found this specific supply store in her neighborhood. Loving the location and the fact they had the hair she needed was a delight and excitement as she was preparing for a lovely Valentine's/Presidents Day weekend! She just knew everything was falling into alignment. She entered the store, easily found everything she she needed, and due to her research, knew exactly how much her items would cost; taxes and everything included. The clerk rang her up and as my dear friend was just about to go on about her lovely Friday evening, she stopped and look at her receipt in hopes to celebrate how spot on her math would be. But unfortunately, she was stopped in her tracks as she noticed an exuberant additional amount charged over her own calculations. $60 worth of odd charges. She had a "things that make you go hmmm..." moment. My dear friend inquired about the additional charges and was met with what seemed to be "I'mma make some bs up so this lady will get out of my face" energy. My dear friend did not like this and asked for the manager and the clerk responded the manager was busy. Friend asked for the manager's name and the clerk gave it and it was the name of the clerk. Friend asked "Is that you??" The clerk responded "Yes." Friends' mind was blown and her annoyance grew. Friend asked for an explanation of the charges and like most businesses that attempt to take advantage of customers, when it got down to the core of it, the manager couldn't explain the charges and offered a refund to her debit card which would take 7-10 business days. My friend wasn't buying it, demanded an immediate cash refund of the over charges and wasn't leaving until she received it. I don't blame her at all. If you knew my dear friend, you would agree she is a lovely person and definitely not the person to play, scam, lie, cheat, or steal from. It would not be wise. Eventually the "clerk/manager/I accidentally over charged you $60 for some hair" came to her senses and refunded Friend in cash and all was calm. In a time when everyones money has an assignment and very few of us can enjoy luxury let alone have spare time and change to beautify ourselves, the last thing we need in a place as sacred as the beauty supply store, is the mindset and ill-political strategies of "wanna-be" oligarchs. This really ain't the time to be messing with anyone, especially women when it's time to get our hair done. This business needs to do better and realize many of us ain't too busy or distracted to read our receipts. This is a warning to them to stop pressing your luck. We're entering a time when buyers are not afraid to report you for fraud. Thank you for coming to my TEDTALK.

The salon is incredibly esthetic and immaculately clean, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. One thing I love about MVM Salon is their flexibility with appointments; they always manage to fit me into my busy schedule. I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new hair salon. After browsing Yelp, I decided to give this place a try. It had been a while since my last haircut, and I was a bit nervous about trying somewhere new, especially given some bad experiences with salons in the past. My appointment with Maritza was amazing! She truly listened to what I wanted and delivered exactly that. She's an amazing stylist but also friendly, easy to talk to, and made the experience fun.
