DESIREE IS A TRUE ARTIST!…read more This was my first time at the salon and I have to say that I'm now a fan! I saw Desiree for a full set (gel x) and a pedi. She is gentle, detailed and a true artist! I was lucky enough to sit next to her other client who had a beach themed set of nails that was so creative and fun! Desiree made me feel comfortable and right at home with her kindness and hospitality. She even made me a special tea with orange peels and honey. Let me first say that I have my nail license so I have some authority on what a nail experience…read moreshould be. I initially left a positive review, but that was a year ago and even then, every time I came back, the service was worse and worse. My OG nail tech Ella left and each time I had my nails done by someone new it seemed as if they'd never done nails before. Come to think of it I didn't notice licenses displayed in the salon, but I could be misremembering. Regardless, my final visit was because a nail tech filed off my pedicure gel so aggressively that I was almost in tears. NAILS SHOULDN'T HURT. Well, I guess it's on me that I went back. My son wanted a mani pedi and it's nearby so we went. I assumed when I sat down that there were multiple techs working, but no...it was one woman. Our nails (two mani/pedis) took 2.5 hours. She was very sweet but also seemed new. She applied a fake nail to one of my fingers and ended up ripping the builder gel off my finger. She then applied a gel x which worked fine. During my pedicure I pointed out that I had a blister on the pad of my big toe so no callus treatment, but she wouldn't listen. She did the callus on my heel then started on the area with the blister and WOULD NOT STOP. I had to pull my foot away and say "ENOUGH! No more!" Again, this is all as my child is there and dying to get nails so I'm just trying to get through it. The cuticles on my toes are red and sore today. I'm really disappointed. While we were there a woman came in with her gel x nails broken that she got done on Saturday, two days before. Finally, the manager or owner --idk...male-- was vaping inside the salon. Insane. To add insult to (literal) injury...the whole thing cost me $200. Girl. And that was with discounts like not charging me for the nail she ripped off my finger I guess. Then when I went to add a tip -- always tip 20%! -- I told the guy behind the counter to give her $40. That's what 20% of $200 is and outside of my foot, she worked very hard and my son LOVED her. The manager dude looked at me and had the nerve to whisper "No! That's too much!" Like...if I knew my manager tried to talk someone out of tipping me after 2.5 hours of work are you EVEN kidding me. I'm sure she works on commissions so tips help to make up for a slow day. Like I said, I have my license and I've worked in salons and had my own business for a while. So, yeah...last time ever. 2 stars because my nails do look good but I shouldn't have been in pain and it shouldn't have taken 2.5 hours.

To avoid further tension, I picked a different color under pressure. I contacted them afterward, and the response was incredibly unprofessional. It's a shame that being polite and "smiling" while leaving is being used against me to deny that the service was tense. They offered a small discount for a redo ($15 instead of $25), but at this point, I'd rather go to a salon where the staff is actually friendly and I don't have to argue with management just to be heard. Edit: The owner ignored my private text regarding a technician speaking poorly about me, yet chose to respond publicly instead. This lack of professionalism is exactly why I requested a female technician. Furthermore, at no point was I offered a redo or even a basic apology for the hostile environment. Beware: if the staff is comfortable speaking negatively about clients in the salon, your experience won't be any different. Check the attitude before this business fails. RIP and good luck

I have been going here specially for Amy for almost 4 years now. Amy is by far the best tech this…read moreshitty salon has as she is efficient, fast & knows exactly what a customer wants. However the broad who owns this salon, is a piece of crap. Two different occasions I had the exact same thing happen to me. First time was on my BIRTHDAY, where I had an appointment set & the owner (who claims she's only the manager by the way) gave me that time & said Amy is available. I go in, Amy was doing another customers nails. I waited 40 minutes before my cup got full & I walked out of this salon. 2 mins later the owner calls me begging me to go back and then Amy called me saying she's so sorry that they double booked her appointments. The owner doesn't know jack shit about customer satisfaction, keeping customers happy or anything. All she cares about is money as she accepts anyone who walks in through those doors but yet doesn't give a rats ass about people who have actual appointments. Yet again, today I called for an appointment with Amy. Unfortunately again the owner answered. She gave me a time for 7:40. & she said Amy will be free. 7:10 came around, I called to see if Amy IS actually going to be available because I don't want to go & wait again for 40 minutes like the last time. But this time the owners sister answered the phone and she said wait let me confirm with Amy. She confirmed with Amy & she got back on the line with me saying 'no Amy can't take you at 7:40 because she's been busy all day today but you can come at 9pm'. I'm sorry, what? 9pm? Your boss sets up appointments for her employees at certain times yet last minute you want to change the time from 7:40 to 9pm? Never will I be stepping a foot in this salon again after the amount of disrespect I've received from the owner herself. I can go on & on about lot of other things I've encountered within the last 4yrs of being a customer here but I'd rather let the Better Business Bureau handle it moving forward. Amy, if you see this. One day when you decide to move to a better salon with better ownership & not someone who's gonna put so much pressure on you & constantly over book you just for her own profit, let me know. I'll come back to you. But other than that, I will never be stepping foot into this salon ever again.

I had Milena, and she was wonderful. She did such a thorough job, and my feet have honestly never looked better! She took her time and made sure everything looked perfect. The whole experience was relaxing and pleasant. I even enjoyed some coffee while getting my pedicure, which was such a nice touch. This will definitely be my new go-to salon for pedicures. Good experience, accommodating staff, and cute salon!…read more Overall, I had a good experience at Ultimate Nail Bar! I came in for a Gel-X set and a pedicure, and although I was pretty indecisive about what I wanted, the staff were patient, accommodating, and genuinely helpful throughout the process. I usually stick to my signature Bubble Bath shade and neutral colors, but I wanted to try something a little more fun for fall. Since I haven't worn color on my nails in a long time, I was all over the place trying to figure out what I wanted. We tried on a few shades, and when none of them felt right, they brought out multiple color books and design options for me to look through. I really appreciated that! They didn't make me feel rushed or like I was being difficult, and they offered their personal recommendations to help me decide. I ultimately went with a neutral shade and a little sparkle overlay. Looking back, I probably would have skipped the sparkle, but that's entirely on me because I was indecisive and should have trusted my instincts! The nail tech did a good job, and my nails still look nice. My only personal preference is that I like a slightly wider nail shape, as I felt mine were filed a little narrower than I usually wear. The service moved pretty quickly, so I didn't speak up about it in the moment, but that's something I'll communicate next time. I also appreciated the first-time customer promotion, which took $10 off each service. The pricing was reasonable compared with other salons in the area, although some add-ons can definitely increase the total. For my pedicure, I opted for regular polish instead of gel after discussing the additional cost of repairing a broken toenail. I was initially confused about why the repair would require gel polish, but the staff explained their reasoning, and they were understanding when I decided to keep things simple. I hadn't gotten regular polish on my toes in years, but sometimes you have to make the practical choice! The salon itself is clean, cute, and thoughtfully designed. I love the minimal aesthetic with just enough feminine touches to make it feel inviting. All in all, I think they do good work, the staff are accommodating, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Would I return? Absolutely. I'll just come in with a clearer idea of what I want and communicate my nail shape preferences upfront next time. Definitely worth considering if you're looking for a cute, clean nail salon in the area!

A little wait but FAST and GREAT nail work!I live in Downtown Los Angeles, and this place is in the valley, why would I make this drive? ill tell you why. I have been coming here for a few months now, I was recommended by my best friend. I always make an appointment and end up waiting a little while anyway but the reason why I always end up coming back is because although it may be busy, and I may wait a little bit, Hau is amazing. He is fast, and the work he does on these nails (acrylic or natural with gel) are long lasting. I have been to several places and never have my nails lasted a month without breaking off!! Of course my hands looking like a hot mess, but at least with my nails intact. I have yet to find my Pedicure person here but so far every pedicure has been great. I have an appointment tomorrow, that is why I decided to yelp and let people know this place is definitely worth it. :) read more

I went my my usual place, but The Lady didn't do a good job. I turned to Yelp and found Studio Nails. First time At Studio Nails. My nail tech was Nikki; she saw my nails and new exactly what to do. I like a pointy almond shape and it was her first time. So new ground for the both of us. She did a great job! Pointy, but not daggers.! Clean paint job and great execution. I didn't give 5 Stars for 2 reasons; 1. 10% fee on using CC. It's only $2, but it's the principle. 2. (the most important reason) No hand massage.! One of the main reasons I love mani/pedi's is for the massages. It didn't happen. meh! On a positive note... I plan on going back, w/ cash. Nikki, thank you! I recommend Nikki/ Studio Nails based on this visit. read more

The place has a clean feel and has nice staff. Their work on the nails is also good BUT depending on who you end up with to work on your nails.. Just one warning Never ever let the owner (who says hes the manager) work on your nails because you will be there ALL DAY! The guys is soooooooo busy with multitasking, taking calls, charging people that are finished, organizing the waiting clients, answering questions, he is constantly busy, ALL WHILE YOU ARE IN HIS CHAIR! I mean he works on your nails like 2 seconds, then " sorry, hold on" or " give me a second" etc. Other than the "manager" (wink) everyone else does a good job and give your nails attention and care. read more

I specifically asked them to use cuticle nippers because I didn't want an electric file used on my natural nails and was concerned about them becoming weak or damaged. Along the way I kept checking the shape and she adjusted as we went through the process. But to my surprise my nails ended up square, no matter how much I tried to tell her to fix the shape. They're uneven and not consistent between nails, some are a lot thicker than the others. And once polish was put on the coffin shape turned back into square. Also gel wasn't filed around the nails after curing. They're horrible and I knew she wasn't capable of fixing them. I asked for chrome and it completely changed the color of my nails and they tried explaining that's what it does, but I've gotten chrome lots of times and never had this happen. She was okay with me having 3 different non contrasting nails. She kept insisting on having me get a design with a sticker but I politely declined since I didn't like them. She eventually said she could draw a design which is what I wanted. Oh now let's go to my toes... the polish is all coming off and started to 2 hours after I left. I'm not sure exactly what happened but I think the lady put regular polish then someone else told her that's not gel and then she thought she could put gel on top of my non dried regular polish. It's the only thing that makes sense. So now I have ugly nails and partially unpolished toes. I'm sad that they look so horrible. Message was only thing I enjoyed.
