This studio is stellar in every regard - leagues above other barre studios I've attended. I began…read moretaking classes here in 2012. At that time, I was either dancing and/ or running every day of the week. Once I began taking class, I noticed a difference in how my body held itself up; my core strengthened and my performance in my other activities improved. The Bar Method strengthens the entire body through small isometric movements, using your own body weight, as well as small handheld weights. After you work each body part, you stretch it; the practice leads to increased muscle strength, as well as greater flexibility. The practice focuses on alignment and posture, so while the hour long workout is rigorous, it is also low impact and exceedingly safe. In 2020, I moved back to Walnut Creek and had my daughter. Two years later, I returned to Bar Method and felt the classes helped me reconnect to my body. Making carrying around a squirrelly toddler much easier. Not only that, but the studio brought with it a sense of community, and the onsite childcare made my re-entry to Bar a possiblity. The co-owners, Chelsea and Audrey, are delightful human beings. They set the tone for the studio. The instructors are brilliant, many of whom have been teaching there for over ten years. It's an inclusive, welcoming environment. I could not recommend more whole heartedly.

Walnut Creek Club Pilates was where I started three years ago. The manager Colleen was very…read moreefficient and introduced to me to Tricia or my complementary assessment. I had just finished my PT after having my right knee replaced and looking for a place to continue strength strengthening my knee. At my first class with Tricia, I may have walked in with an aid of a cane, but I walked out with no cane needed. I was hooked and signed up immediately for the unlimited. Push forward I am now about to hit my 500th class and am in certification to be a yoga instructor with yoga USA. How crazy is that? and I owe it all to Club Pilates and they're amazing instructors. Each and every instructor gives you a different perspective on how your body works and what you need to do to have a strong core. So if one review can make a difference, I would tell you to try Club Pilates for a week, and listen to what they tell you to do and you will feel better and stronger. I hope this review helps folks that are undecided.

Did not take a class here and review is based purely on engagement with the front desk. I walked in…read moreand the woman at the front desk asked if I ever have taken Pilates. I said yes, I do it multiple times a week at my current studio. Her immediate response was "oh that's not real Pilates" and when I said yes it was she proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and what I've been doing is not correct and, essentially, saying my workouts were not real. The whole experience was bad and it left me with a gross feeling because I was basically just insulted. When they asked if I wanted to sign up for a free class I immediately said no and left. Maybe don't insult your patrons right off the bat.

I took my first class here with Alex sometime last week through ClassPass. The only reason I'm not…read moregoing back yet is because I was recently laid off and had to pause my membership. With that said, I really want to highlight how amazing and attentive Coach Alex was. She was incredibly supportive and helpful , even going as far as telling me that if she ever saw my name on the class roster again, she'd put together a workout that focused less on legs because of my disability. That level of awareness and care meant a lot. The front desk attendant was also incredibly sweet. Overall, it was such an amazing experience. The workout itself was fantastic, and I genuinely cannot wait to go back when I'm able to reactivate my membership. Highly recommend!

I signed up for an introductory class, super easy via there app, it was $20. I got there about…read more20min early and was able to find a spot in the lot. Ya'll this place will get you in shape in no time. I tried the Lagree class. The instructor was so nice and allowed me to switch over from the Climb x Boot Camp class when I showed up. I was also able to purchase a pair of grippy socks onsite for about $10. The music was good, the lingo will take sometime to learn, but I appreciated the instructor coaching me and helping to position me in the right position, and gave me words of encouragement. There was only 7-8 ppl in the class so I wonder what it's like when it's full. I appreciated the work out bc it challenged me to push myself just a bit more. I had a good sweat and worked my upper body to the point where my arms were going to give out on me, half way through but I kept pushing just a little more. I appreciated that there was no pushy sales person trying to get me to purchase a membership. Now I can give it sometime and a proper think. Everyone was pleasant and professional from the staff to the members in the room. Nicolette was subbing from Danville and she was a great instructor. Provided me with a quick history about how Lagree was established. I definitely hope to come back and try the climber/boot camp class.

COVID REVIEW Lynda's…read moreclasses, including her Zumba classes, are now on-line through Zoom. Attendance at her virtual classes has been great which makes it fun, notwithstanding the fact that you end up using speaker view on Zoom to watch Lynda and not anybody else. Virtual classes has been great because you don't have to spent time driving to your workout. It's also great if you'd rather not have anyone else in the class looking at you because everyone is watching Lynda. Lynda has one hour classes as well as half hour workouts throughout the week at various times, so it's easy to catch a workout. i'm beginning to wonder if when the pandemic is over, whether she will still have workouts on-line because virtual workouts seem to work so well. What makes Lynda's classes special is not just her wonderful personality and enthusiasm, but the fact that she is a professional dancer with a degree from UCSB in Dance, plus a lifetime of experience in dance and Latin music.
