    Allie P.

Came by on a Yelp Elite invite for a free class - the free classes are actually held even for non-elites I've noticed, daily usually in the afternoon. The free sessions are intros for prospective people who may be interested or curious about reformer pilates. I would recommend attending one of these, if interested - they are 30 minutes long. There was a 10% off deal if we were to sign up for the first three months. Being that I was in the market to sign up for a membership somewhere to get more physical exercise in my daily routine and how I had previously been curious about reformer pilates, it seemed like a good fit after enjoying the intro class. Previous experience I had to pilates was over 10-15 years ago, lol - I remember I had a floor pilates DVD and I did enjoy using it. Using the reformer, spring board, jump board, ring, balls, weights, discs, roller, bosu ball, TRX, and straps have been fun to use. Each class does have some repetitiveness which is nice when you're getting started. Depending on who your instructor is, your routine workouts could change and you have the choice to book ahead of time up to 15 sessions out for those who have unlimited memberships. I enjoy how the classes are small where it feels more personalized (plus, I don't really like overcrowded workout areas too much) and the instructors can really take the time to review and instruct us individually to see if we need to make any adjustments to the moves we are doing if someone has been injured in a certain area or if we are doing the moves wrong entirely, helping us to adjust to the correct form. Everyone starts level 1 beginner courses and they work their way up to level 2. I'm not sure if we needed instructor approval to take 1.5 level classes or not, but I began to sign up for my first two in the next coming weeks after taking level 1 flow and sculpt classes. I'm on my 2nd month and have completed 42 classes thus far! I do kind of wish the floors weren't so dusty / dirty when I go. I notice cause I stare to the floor for certain moves and we are on the floor for others. I had been waiting to write my review because I was starting to question whether or not they moped or dusted the floors. The other day, I did see a duster from afar and a floor roller thing, but I don't know if they do it underneath and in between reformers. You will be charged a late fee / no show fee if you are 10 minutes (this was the only time I experience rudeness by one of their front desk staff - she was young girl who didn't even raise her head or make eye contact with me nor did she show any empathy or customer service skills - haven't seen her in a while so not sure if she's still there or not - everyone else has been pretty nice!) or over arriving to your class for $15 - auto charged to your account. There is a tiny section of merch - apparel, grip socks (required), accessories, other workout gear, etc. I bought socks and straps - love lavender straps btw, they make me happy. Classes usually start right on time, but end 10 minutes before the end time. Having 5-10 minutes to check-in, set-up, and stretch is nice. At the end of class we all wipe down the equipment we've touched so its good to go for the next person. Free water! Bring your own bottle to fill up! Otherwise they have paper cups, but bringing your own bottle is so much better for the environment! There are a few different membership options to choose from. I believe 5, 8, unlimited, or passport. Passport is when you can go to ANY Club Pilates locations - these are franchised. I noticed they are all over the world!! This option could be worth it for someone who travels often. I was hesitant to commit, as I wasn't sure of my travel plans / career move but the woman who helped me told me that if they are notified ahead of time, they can freeze my month and have it pick back up when I come back - so that was good to know and thus, made me decide that it was ok to sign up! HAH. P.S. instructors also provide one on one private lessons - there is a room in the back for that. There is an app we use to sign up for classes and track how many you've attended and what goals you achieve. There's another app that you can pay for that includes at home workouts I believe - but I didn't want to start the free trial because I did not want to end up paying for it later. Parking meters outside on the street or there are various lots and garages that offer free parking for 2-3 hours. I think I am actually getting back on track to re-finding my balance and gaining strength where I may have not had it before. I used to be athletic when I was younger, but over time it decreased on top of sometimes having weak joints / ankles and falling up and down stairs or just my ankle giving out, this has been a nice leeway into getting back into some daily physical exercise.

I purchased sticky socks they are so cute! I Love Pilates!

I was also disappointed by the instructors. The first instructor got all righteous and told us how "sad" we made her feel after she asked people to move over to make space and we didn't automatically respond, in part because some were confused about which way we should move (it was a very large class of more than 50 people.) She treated us like an annoyed mother telling her children how disappointed she was with them. I did get a good workout, but was a bit perturbed by her ungenerous feeling toward us. Give people the benefit of doubt before reprimanding them! The teacher of the other class was also off putting as she started her class by asking students what yoga meant to them. I don't think it's appropriate to quiz students about why they're in class and then subject others to their answers. Others might disagree, but I just want to practice and then get on with my day, not be tested to see that my relationship with yoga is intact. Needless to say, this studio is not for me!

With that said, I really want to highlight how amazing and attentive Coach Alex was. She was incredibly supportive and helpful , even going as far as telling me that if she ever saw my name on the class roster again, she'd put together a workout that focused less on legs because of my disability. That level of awareness and care meant a lot. The front desk attendant was also incredibly sweet. Overall, it was such an amazing experience. The workout itself was fantastic, and I genuinely cannot wait to go back when I'm able to reactivate my membership. Highly recommend!

Ya'll this place will get you in shape in no time. I tried the Lagree class. The instructor was so nice and allowed me to switch over from the Climb x Boot Camp class when I showed up. I was also able to purchase a pair of grippy socks onsite for about $10. The music was good, the lingo will take sometime to learn, but I appreciated the instructor coaching me and helping to position me in the right position, and gave me words of encouragement. There was only 7-8 ppl in the class so I wonder what it's like when it's full. I appreciated the work out bc it challenged me to push myself just a bit more. I had a good sweat and worked my upper body to the point where my arms were going to give out on me, half way through but I kept pushing just a little more. I appreciated that there was no pushy sales person trying to get me to purchase a membership. Now I can give it sometime and a proper think. Everyone was pleasant and professional from the staff to the members in the room. Nicolette was subbing from Danville and she was a great instructor. Provided me with a quick history about how Lagree was established. I definitely hope to come back and try the climber/boot camp class.

I'd done reformer Pilates back in college and loved it, so I started exploring studios nearby. After trying a few in the area, I found X2O Pilates, and I was instantly hooked. They use an Xformer, which is a bit different from traditional reformers. It's like a blend between classic Pilates and Lagree-style training, and it delivers serious results. Since starting a little over a year ago, my body has completely transformed. I have visible abs for the first time since my early twenties, and I'm more toned and defined overall than I've been in years. Eventually, I convinced a few friends to come with me; though they were definitely intimidated at first. But after just one class, they were hooked too! Every instructor at X2O is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and kind. They each bring their own unique style to class, but you truly can't go wrong with any of them.
