I wanted to like this studio, but was left sorely disappointed. The studio is beautiful and spacious, although I found the huge store in the front a bit pretentious, with all the tarot card decks, crystals, etc. that was just too bougie for my taste. I was also disappointed by the instructors. The first instructor got all righteous and told us how "sad" we made her feel after she asked people to move over to make space and we didn't automatically respond, in part because some were confused about which way we should move (it was a very large class of more than 50 people.) She treated us like an annoyed mother telling her children how disappointed she was with them. I did get a good workout, but was a bit perturbed by her ungenerous feeling toward us. Give people the benefit of doubt before reprimanding them! The teacher of the other class was also off putting as she started her class by asking students what yoga meant to them. I don't think it's appropriate to quiz students about why they're in class and then subject others to their answers. Others might disagree, but I just want to practice and then get on with my day, not be tested to see that my relationship with yoga is intact. Needless to say, this studio is not for me! read more

I've been away from a steady yoga practice for about 5 years since my former studio closed after the pandemic. I've been aware of Indigo for a few years, never got myself there, until February of 2026. While I'm not incredibly spiritual, it's one of those things that made me wonder what finally got me through that door. The diversity of the teachers and offerings is amazing. They have 2 yoga studios and there are options every day. The fact that there are classes and events on Friday evenings, Sunday evenings when I find the desire to unwind and treat myself to some self care, icing on the cake. I'm so happy to have found a new community to practice and grow in. read more

Great yoga studio, and literally the cutest shop you've ever seen! They have so many classes and convenient times throughout the day. You can try the classes out for a week before committing to a membership. The only con I would say is one of the yoga rooms is very tiny and not as nice. There are only 2 rooms, and one room is beautiful with nice dim lighting, perfect for yoga. Kelly was my favorite instructor, she was very welcoming to newcomers and she has such a warm aura about her! If you're curious I would recommend paying them a visit and taking a try. read more

Prenatal yoga! I live right around the corner and had never come here. A doula recommended the prenatal classes when I shared my back and body had been sore. Listen, I'm not a group class kind of girl, but the community here is SO lovely and Roxanna made me feel right at home. A few weeks in I can report back that I'm feeling so much better in my body and also feeling much more connected with other moms in the same stage of life. Can't recommend enough. read more

I have one small complaint, and I'll get that out of the way first. The classes I've attended don't finish on time. While I appreciate the generosity of not rushing the class, I have to take time off from work to attend, and when the class goes over by 10-15 minutes consistently, it causes me to be late for meetings. That said, the good far outweighs this complaint, which is why I'm giving it 5 stars and continue to attend. When you walk into the studio, you're greeted by a wonderful, inviting smell. The front desk staff is ultra-friendly and always helpful. The teachers are absolutely top-notch--kind, supportive, and extremely knowledgeable. You can also browse the boutique and find really unique items. I really love this studio--it's a fantastic, traditional yoga studio, and I highly recommend it. However, I'd really appreciate it if classes could end on time or if class durations were extended to better reflect the actual ending time. It would also be great if more weekend classes could be offered. read more

Love this place! Great vibes and super clean and welcoming place. I go 3x a week- Soul Flow on Wednesdays and prenatal yoga on Saturdays and Mondays. Highly recommend for all levels. read more

Indigo is my new go to studio. I've been going for about 5 months, since I moved to the area. The front area is a sweet little shop with various trinkets, clothes and gear, all fairly priced and adds a ton to the vibe. The yoga studio is really something. Spacious with wood floors that are new, ton of natural light and a stage for (I believe) sound bath workshops. The Pilates studio is smaller but intimate and comfortable, the private space for Pilates looks stunning and I'm sure well worth the price (def out of my budget tho so I didn't try it yet) Nick's Ashtanga class on Tuesday and Thursday morning is invigorating, fun and challenging. Angie's Pilates class on Sundays was my go-to until my schedule changed but she's absolutely amazing and super fun. Kelly is extraordinary in getting you to work your whole body in Pilates and Destiny has a super amazing vinyasa flow on Fridays which I try to get to when I can. Other then the teachers, the students are so much fun, it's a mix of all ages which I adore and everyone are so nice. Try a class. You won't regret it. read more

I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and decided to try a Yoga Nidra class with Michele Gunnett. Im dropping one star specifically because of the store. Guys do not get ripped off. Products at Indigo are overpriced. Take a few minutes to check online or go directly to the retail store. You will find that the original price of the products are less. When a store is charging more that the actual retail price, it leaves a bad taste. That's taking advantage of customers. read more

Indigo is beautiful, welcoming, clean, friendly, challenging, and diverse - everything you want in a yoga studio! I've been meaning to get back into yoga for some time and this studio is inspiring me to do so! I'm so grateful I found this place. I have practiced Pilates on an off for over 20 years. This is a great studio! The equipment is top notch, the instructors are experienced and the students are all so friendly. Some studios like to pack as many students in , this place does not. Some studios come up with gimmicks to upsell you... not this place. This studio is the real deal. read more

After working in Sacramento for the better part of the day, I had to pick up Chun P. at Oakland airport around 7 p.m. and had some free time and decided to drive down early, stop midway and take a yoga break at Indigo in Walnut Creek. With an intro offer of 3 classes for $20 it seemed like a great opportunity! I arrived at Indigo a few minutes early for Caleb's 4:30 yin/yang class. The front entryway has the nicest boutique I've ever seen in a yoga studio - lovely crystals, attire, books, yoga mats and supplies merchandised beautifully all in a relaxed environment. You can even fix up yourself a cup of tea and have a cozy seat to relax before/after class! Caleb greeted me warmly and helped me get set up for class. Caleb has a wonderful meditative voice and a true gift for guiding a yin class. The sequence of the postures combined with Caleb's divine messaging and adjustments were truly healing. (Also, Indigo has the BEST supply of bolsters, blocks, blankets and even weighted bags that can be placed on the body for support in restorative poses.) This truly was the most soul-and-body opening restorative class I've ever taken in over 10 years of practicing yoga! After class, I spoke with Caleb a bit and mentioned I was from out of town here for the weekend and he invited me to join him and some friends for a full-moon hike the very next day! He wrote the details down on a post-it and I gladly put it in my bag. Caleb then introduced me to Jerry, who was teaching the next class. Since I still had some time, I decided to stay. From the first moment of pranayama (breathwork) to the last pose of class I felt divine joy. Jerry teaches a rock-solid, divinely inspired vinyasa. His energy, pace and sequencing was challenging - yet accessible. I haven't connected to source (Divine Ma) in a vinyasa class like that in a very long time. He really puts a lot of heart into his class and it shows! A few days later, I was able to come back and try Rod's hatha class. It was unlike any hatha class I'd ever experienced. I think we only did one standing pose and the rest was on the mat with props. That particular class, Rod broke down the proper mechanics of walking, guiding us through poses that are meant to help properly align the body all the way from the soles of the feet through the crown of the head. Rod has a wonderful touch for adjustments, and I really got to work on my internal hip flexor issue - which is a source of chronic back pain for me. The techniques Rod taught in class I've been practicing every day and have seen much progress in my spine health. Indigo's teachers, students and staff were all so welcoming, I wish I lived in Northern California close by! As it is, I come up to the Bay area 4 times a year or so - and I will be certain to take class at Indigo again. Unfortunately family obligations kept me from joining Caleb on that hike - but I'm looking forward to taking him up on it the next time I'm there. Thanks Indigo! Jai Ma! read more

This is a review of the private duets pilates and group cycling. My wife and I started taking private duets pilates classes with the owner Kelly about a year ago because our jobs have us sitting in front of computers all day. We chose Indigo because Kelly was able to work with our schedules and arrange for private classes on weekday evenings after work and/or early mornings on the weekends. Many of the other pilates places had very limited openings and no flexibility, so they didn't fit with our schedules. Kelly has always done an excellent job tailoring the private pilates courses to our specific needs, whether they are long term shoulder and knee issues or temporary tight muscles. As a result of our weekly classes, we have seen significant improvements and no longer have the bothersome pains we once did. This has greatly improved our quality of life and allowed us to do the things we love without any pain or complaints (e.g, hiking, kayaking, etc.). In addition to the effectiveness of the classes, Kelly is a warm, kind-hearted instructor who is easy to talk to and creates a comfortable and stress-free environment during, what can sometimes be, challenging pilates moves (but challenging in a good way!). We also recently started the group cycling classes to add an extra day of exercise. The classes are the perfect size, not too big and not too small. The instructors are great and always keep us engaged and motivated. I especially enjoy that the cycling classes are more traditional cycling and involve minimal, if any, variations on riding a bike. We weren't interested in hand weights or choreographed movements. This class keeps things simple, easy to follow along, and effective. My wife and I have been very pleased and see ourselves continuing with pilates and cycling at Indigo for the foreseeable future. read more

Just wanted to update my review of this incredible studio, to address the current social distance covid19 situation. Indigo has created outdoor class spaces that make me so comfortable about practicing in a class setting right now. They have erected tents next to Studio 1, and blocked space off with potted trees so that you are sheltered by the sun, but get wonderful fresh air. Large enough space to social distance with ease on the mat. I'm so grateful to this studio for giving me this opp to GTFO of my home and keep my mind and body fit. I'm trying one of their many Zoom classes next, for those days when work gives me a tighter schedule. Namaste, Indigo! Xoxo read more

I've been a member at Indigo Yoga for 4 years now, this review is in regard to their addition of indoor cycling classes which I have been attending regularly for about 6 months. Initially, as an avid outdoor cyclist, it did not occur to me to take an indoor cycling class. I had never done it, and why would I, when I am on my bike so often? And in fact, when one of the owners of the studio encouraged me to try it out, I was skeptical. But repeated encouragement (Thanks, Kelly!) saw me taking a class, and to my surprise, I have been attending about 3 times a week ever since. Not only is it a great cardio workout, it has really improved my outdoor cycling in terms of stamina and agility, which I did not see coming. In addition, the classes are 45 minutes long, and that's perfect. Commitment to exercise, as we all know, is a total mind game in terms of fitting it into your day with regularity. And there are so many opportunities for your day to get hijacked by something else, or you talk yourself out of it. A challenging 45 minutes is perfect, it's over quickly and you almost forget you've done it. All of the instructors are great, attentive, and have a sense of humor. Can I particularly recommend the Wednesday 6 am class?? People don't like to get up early but at that hour the workout gives you a huge lift and fierce energy for the rest of the day. And then you've done it and don't have to spend the rest of the day planning your workout. read more

Still loving and raving about the Indigo classes, teachers and community. They completed a beautiful remodel in early 2020 that makes it an even more welcoming and positive experience. I recently discovered a Mat Pilates class with Amy Taylor that I have added to my schedule. She is a great teacher with clear communication and guidance. I love the opportunity to strengthen and stretch using small, controlled nuances in movement that really make a difference! The hour goes by quickly and is never the same- I always come away feeling like my whole body benefited. Mixing this into some more rigorous classes is a good balance for me! When COVID-19 required us to start sheltering in place, Indigo was able to ramp up to online LIVE classes pretty quickly. I look forward to my weekly classes and "seeing" the faces of others I've practiced with over the years who have become friends. We are all in this together, and the Indigo community, led by Kelly and Eric, has been a wonderful support and respite. LOTS of variety of classes and styles for anyone at any level. I can't recommend highly enough. read more

This place goes way above and beyond what (in my humble opinion) a yoga studio should be. Why? I don't have the kind of time to really do this place justice, but I'll try. For starters, the owners are simply awesome. They are two people who have a reverence for the practice, and it translates in every facet of their business. They will welcome you like family, and treat you like it. This is a place where you can feel comfortable, welcome and appreciated as a client. For me, that is vital. Community. This is the most loving group of folks! Everyone comes here happy and that really makes a difference in the level of benefit you get from a class here. Variety. This place has so many cool things to do here! It's not just yoga. There are Pilates classes, different yoga classes, amazing workshops that cover a wide range of topics and Kirtan. If you love music, and want to be bathed in healing vibration and music for a few hours, come to Kirtan here. It will change your life. I promise. It changed mine, and now I can't get enough. Talent. The teachers here are knowledgeable and really care about your well-being. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of ego here, which I think adds to the magic of this place. And the talent of these folks surpasses just the classes they teach. Eric and Kelly are both amazing musicians, and they bring that magic to their classes and to the Kirtan. (Seriously, come to Kirtan. Then you'll understand what I'm talking about). There is also a member who sells incredible custom-made jewelry, including beautiful malas. They sell other really neat handmade stuff there as well. Healing. They have Reiki shares here, led by an amazing lady named Debbie. If you need healing, or a safe place to be for an evening, come to a Reiki share. This, too, will be a profound experience. I say that from personal experience. Not to mention, they have an AMAZING Naturopathic Doctor. Dr. Achuff is amazing....and I think she has a super power of being able to hone in and help you get the healing you need, provided you follow her advice. She is an absolute joy to deal with, and I've felt better in the two months we've been working together than I have in 5 years. In summary, this place is just phenomenal. Please check it out and see for yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed, and you will be surrounded by an outstanding group of people. :) read more

Got to check this yoga studio thru class pass and we enjoyed it! The staff and friendly and the instructors are amazing! The atmosphere and vibe from this studio is very distinct and I always feel at peace and ease. Carly is gifted, Every time I meet her on my mat, she manages to get my body to do something that is amazingly healing and feels so right, relaxed, connected with the breath and creates so much space I did not know was there. friend (his first time to do yoga!) enjoyed Destiny's restorative yoga class, I highly recommend it. She offered this wooden chip that's placed on top of your mat and depending if you want instructors to correct you or not you have the option to say yes or no before the class starts. Overall I Love how zen this studio. I Would definitely come back and recommend it to everyone. read more

To qualify what I have to say about Indigo a little background of myself. I am a 63 year old disabled construction superintendent. Over the years I have broken or injured more of my body than can be summed up here, but to illustrate I had both knees replaced 1.5 years ago. Flexibility was not a term I thought would ever be used to describe me again. I used to be a water skier of some renown a snow skier, roller bladder, skate boarded till I was 35, I used to hang glide " I won the East Bay Hang gliding Tournament some twenty five years ago." I became a Century bicycle rider, Triathlete and open water swimmer. I was simply the most agile person I knew. Well with all the injuries I had become the stiffest most unsteady on his feet person I know. To top it off I accepted my lot and resigned myself to being an old unstable toddler. Then I met Linda Burkard and she invited me to her Yoga in Recovery Program, she was beginning at Indigo. I attended her intro evening and sensed that this might just be right place for me. I signed up for three months unlimited and began attending Yoga classes. I was the most unlikely beer belly, crass, construction worker kinda guy, to even consider yoga. When I tell my buddies their eyes just kinda glaze over and they shake their heads. I gotta tell you it was very humbling to be in a room full of women and to be the only one seriously groaning. The first thing I found out was that the instructors had real serious knowledge of anatomy, "better applied than my therapist at the hospital". They also had empathy for an old dude trying to do his best. I have since begun on a path of revitalization and a glimmer of hope that I can bring myself back from the brink. I am taking beginning Yoga with Kristen Dessange, Hatha Yoga with Linda Burkard, Flow into meditation with Orlena Lackenbauer, Kundalini Yoga in a few forms with Sosie Kirin, and Restorative Yoga with Morning Star Borzoni. I intend on hitting all of the classes offered even Prenatal if they will let me in, just to see what it's about. Yesterday I took my bike out for the first time in fifteen years and I really went spinning, I was breathing easy and only stung my legs twice. This was accomplished by the toning and breath that I have regained from the practice of Yoga. My timing and balance are on the road to recovery! I have only been attending for a month and a half, this is the best thing I have done for myself in years, I feel real value for money spent and time invested. I don't know anything about other studios or their Space but this place is nice, comfortable and most importantly I have met some new friends that genuinely care about my practice of Yoga, I really connect with my wonderful instructors and look forward to what comes next. These people have done for me what no one else has, given me a sense of hope. read more

I'm choosing three stars for this place because I didn't like it enough to make an effort to keep going. I was going specifically for prenatal yoga, and their class schedule was initially difficult for my schedule (all were either too early or too late in the day) and then they drastically cut their schedule on an already over-booked style of yoga. I think they're changing things, so classes are going to pick up again I think...but I haven't checked in the last couple weeks. One of the teachers always starts the class by asking what's the weirdest thing someone has said to you this week, as a pregnant woman, and I just didn't really want to start my yoga class by perseverating on annoying/weird things that people have said. Plus I never really felt like I had anything to contribute. I wanted it to be a more positive, relaxing space as opposed to a place where we begin by focusing on the negative. It's also annoying that they have three different locations all within the same shopping center, but the Mindbody app, through which they do their class booking, doesn't specify which location your class is in, so the first time I went I ended up speeding around to all three locations before I found my class, which was stressful and almost made me late. So anyway. I'll go back at some point because I bought a package and I still have two classes to use, but I'm in no rush. read more

I can only comment on the location and the Vinyasa/Pilates Fusion Class. Location is very convenient, easy parking, clean and new. Peaceful. Nice little gift shop area. The class is amazing! I am not a die hard yoga or pilates person but I was looking for a class that would be great for increasing flexibility and strength and this class does both in addition to being one hell of a workout! The hour long class literally flies by. Kelly not only instructs but also educates and gives great info and background as to why we are doing the poses and moves. Kelly also walks around correcting positioning when needed and gives great alternate poses and exercises for those that need it. Love it! read more

Indigo is a welcoming place for all. The teachers are excellent: well-trained, experienced and compassionate. The studio is spotless and has recently undergone a beautiful renovation which enlarged it. On a few occasions, the music has been louder than my preference. I paid for three months at this studio and attended an average of four classes a week. I enjoyed the space and the teachers and would have continued going after three months were it not for my moving from Walnut Creek to Oakland. Three months after the last class I took there, I received a call from Indigo notifying me that my credit card was declined (I had lost it a couple weeks prior to this and had to get a new one). I asked why they needed to run my credit card and that is when I discovered that after the three months I initially paid for, my membership switched to month-to-month; it did not end as I had thought and I had been paying for the last three months despite not attending a single class. I explained the misunderstanding and conceded that I was responsible for the oversight- but I also asked them to refund the three months of charges in consideration of the fact that I had not stepped foot in the studio once during that time. They refused. Now, I understand that it was my mistake and also that had I been more diligent I might have noticed the charges on my bank statement and resolved the issue sooner. So I am in no way insinuating lawlessness on their part, however, I felt it would have been decent of them to at least offer a credit if not a refund. I also did not appreciate the fact that after three months of paying for a membership and attending ZERO classes, the call I receive from them was not to check in or notify me that I was still paying despite not attending, but to notify me that my credit card was no longer working. It seemed rather disingenuous of them. I moved back near the studio and would absolutely be taking classes there again were it not for the way they handled this. Bad business decision on their part. Make of this what you will. read more

I have been a volunteer at Indigo Yoga and Pilates Studio for 2 years. It has become my home away from home. To me, Indigo is my safe place, on my mat, where I can be myself exactly as I am. About 6 months ago I started coming to classes more often, on average 3/4 times a week. Since then, I have lost weight, decreased my anxiety, increased my courage and made significant positive changes in my life. I have also found community and connected to my spirituality. I owe so much of that to Indigo. I am eternally grateful to the owners Kelly and Eric, Kathy, and my fellow volunteers and yogis. Indigo has classes around the clock including every evening which is perfect for someone like me working 9-5. I've only been to their yoga studio in Walnut Creek. First off, the store front is instantly calming. Neatly arranged crystals, Yoga mats, books on reiki. Yep, I instantly felt my chakras realigning when I walked in. The classes are wonderful. I only went for the trial week because while I love this place, I can't afford it. I did the gentle yoga class...can't remember the exact name now but you hold each pose for a few minutes. The other class I tried was the 8am Sunday class where you do a lot of self myofascial release. The instructor, whose name I've forgotten, was so wonderful and there were only two of us in the class since it was quite early for a Sunday morning. The last class I went to was a Kundalini yoga class and while that was the most popular, it was one I like least because it was quite crowded. Really like the space and the instructors. Also, there is plenty of parking.I hope they continue to thrive at this location. read more

Indigo's classes are the best ones I have found. Try the kundalini. Its like a hallucinogenic form of yoga.

I've finally found my "home away from home" at Indigo! I previously tried one of the large yoga chains, but it felt sterile to me. At indigo, beginning on my very first visit, I felt warmly welcomed and a sense of genuine connection. Also, the atmosphere is aesthetically beautiful and calming. I've tried a variety of classes and the teachers all seem to be very well trained and take the extra time to get to know their students. I LOVE the challenge I get from the Vinyassa classes! I've attended a few of their monthly "Sacred Cinema" movie nights and have enjoyed their selection of "spiritually-centered" movies. I walked away each time feeling part of a like-minded community. read more
