After moving here and looking for the right fit at a few different aveda salons this one is it! They were prompt at check in, offering you something to drink after you change and put their smock on( different than the norm black neck choking thing). They get to work quickly! To me it is on the pricier side as far as salons go, I only get my hair cut about twice a year so I don't mind the splurge. The employees are always nice and professional. The place place smells wonderful and is clean. There is always a seasonal beverage to sip while you wait. I've only ever had my eyebrows and eyelashes done in the spa, but it is so relaxing I almost fall asleep every time! This place has my loyalty as long as I live in the area! read more

What a joke! I walked into this place to purchase some Aveda products and stormed out without making a purchase because the service was HORRIBLE. My experience: I walk into the salon and instead of being greeted by the receptionist with "Hello, how are you today? or "How can I help you?", I was given a dirty look and then ignored. After getting a snotty attitude from this woman, I pipe up, "Hi, I would like to purchase some Aveda products, can you assist me please?" The snotty receptionist replies, "just a minute", in a snarky tone. She wasn't helping anyone else, in fact she was staring out the window with a blank look on her face when I walked into the salon. After waiting for her to finish staring out the window, she finally walked over to assist me. I pick out some products that I wanted and walked over to the counter to purchase them. As I pulled out my cash ready to purchase $100 worth of products, the snotty receptionist asks, "can I get your name, your address and phone number?" "No", I reply. "I don't want to give out my personal information for you to put in your database just to purchase some product." "Well then", she says, I can't sell these products to you unless you give me your information for our database. "Are you serious?" I ask. She said "oh, it's the computer software". Huh? You can't make a sale unless someone gives you all their personal information? Now, when I go to a clothing store, the grocery store, or any other retailer, I am not required to give up my personal information to make a purchase. So, apparently, in this economy, this business would rather have some moron working the front desk who pisses off customers and loses sales because the customer doesn't want to have there personal information stored in a database when all the customer wants to do is pay CASH for their Aveda products and be on their way. STUPID! So, I drove over to the Alderwood Mall to the Aveda store, purchased my products from some extremely nice sales people who know that the customer is KING and if you want repeat business, you don't piss off customers and refuse a sale because the customer chooses to keep their personal information private. Several salons in my area have gone out of business recently due to this economy. I wouldn't be surprised if this place goes under as well. If the receptionist who I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with worked at my salon she would be FIRED in a heart beat for her crappy customer service skills and making my business lose money. read more

I have been going to this salon for about 5 years and have put up with their pretentious behavior for their product and services but I just can't do it anymore. I got a both a bad haircut and foil (not the color I was asked them for!) and stopped going for about 6 months. I received a 'coupon' via email inviting me back and thought I would give it another shot. Not only was I treated rudely by the gal at the front desk but when she had to call the owner over to give me the discount she made me feel like I was scamming them and told me that I had better come back sooner next time. I won't be back. This salon is expensive but I would be willing to pay even a bit more to get better and friendlier service read more

I have fine straight hair. When I scheduled my first appointment six months ago I asked specifically for a stylist that was experienced and good my my type of hair. I stuck with the stylist they gave me for six months thinking maybe she would get better but I'm done now. I have had about six months of bad hair days. I called the salong to explain the situation and was told that they had put me with a new stylist because apparently all the more experienced ones were already booked. I wasn't in a hurry at the time I scheduled the appointment, in fact, I had scheduled it five weeks in advance. The prices are average for a high-end salon but the salon is shabby. Whenever I have been to the salon there is only one or two stylists working. read more

Went in because they are a certified Aveda store. Began talking with receptionist. Another employee walked up and started talking to the person I was working with. Both of them ignored me. I turned to the other employee and asked if this place was certified and would I get my points and benefits. She stated yes to both. Then she says but I do not work up here so I cannot help you. I turn to wait for the other lady who by now is alone. She holds up her index finger without any eye contact and says hold on I need to finish this. I have 2 things to purchase plus a free item. She states oh that is only if you purchase on line. I show her the email and then she says that is only good in stores and we are a salon. I say never mind I am out of here and leave. My $50 purchase must not be needed and I will not be back. 3 people in my house use Aveda products but the store in Lynnwood will continue to get my business. The free item was approximately $5.00. Sorry they must be financially strapped, but then again they turn business away and are rude to customers so maybe they do not need any more business. I recommend you go to Salon Envy on 10th. I am always treated like family at that salon. read more

I had an appointment at Studio Donna this week as a first time customer, and loved it. Just went in for a cut, but the salon was bright, clean, and the staff were wonderful. While I was waiting for my stylist (I arrived a bit early), I was checked on by 3 different people to make sure I didn't need anything while I waited. Randa cut my hair, and she did a a great job. She listened to what I had to say, but also wasn't afraid to step up and suggest some things. All in all, a great cut, a great experience, and I'll likely make Randa my new regular stylist. read more

I got a manicure and their eye package that includes brow wax/tint and eyelash tint. My manicure was just not fun. She's bored with her job I think and she used old nail polish that I took off when I got home. It just looked like a five year old had done my nails. My eyebrows are very dark and unnatural looking. My eyelashes are still invisible but it looks like I have eyeliner on. Everyone was nice and they did what they're supposed to do but I look a little bit weird now and that's not the result one wants after being at a salon. Fortunately brow tint doesn't last that long and I'll look more normal in a couple of weeks. I'll be going somewhere else next time. Probably to Seattle. read more

I wanted to treat myself to a beauty day, so i chose Studio Donna because of the location. I was greeted by the nice girls at the desk, i started with Highlights and a Haircut, which i booked with the 20% off e-mail. My stylist was i think Desirae she was soooo Freak'n Funny. I Finished my beauty day with a Spa Pedicure with Kayleigh that was on special, It was so relaxing i loved it! I think its cool that they take into consideration with the economy low that any discount can help. read more

I had highlights done at Studio Donna and that was the last time I set foot in the place. The highlights were badly done and it looked like stripes. Their response, "So you haven't had highlights before"? My response was, "I haven't had bad highlights before". Before the highlights I was a regular customer. Their whole attitude was that it was my fault and I didn't know what I was talking about. Its bad when you clip your hair back as soon as you get in the car so you don't see these horrible blonde stripes down your hair. Now I pay a little more and go to a better salon. Its worth it because my new salon seems to be more customer friendly. read more
