The inspiration versus what I got. I asked Thao where are my highlights? And he replied an apology that he FORGOT to keep my base color dark. He passed me off to get my haircut to someone else. When she asked me how much I want cut off I did my fingers at the bottom of my hair about 2.5 to 3 in. She ended up cutting off SEVEN inches of my hair.
Carly did my hair here and I absolutely love it! She is awesome and always makes my hair so pretty and exactly the colors I want! Salon is cute, easy parking, I highly recommend
One star for the salon, if you want a owner that's going to yell at his employees in front of an entire shop. An embarrassing display of a salon owner and trash at his own job. Reporting him asap, no one should own a shop and have employees if they behave like Thao. He literally made my stomach turn with the way he talks to his employees. Following my hairstylist and never walking into his shop again. Complete trash as an owner, Goodluck to his future employees. He needed to be reported a LONG time ago. Update- To make matters worse, the owner Thao just called me and started cussing at me over my review. He also left me a voice message that I will be sure to blast on social media. Again, unprofessional is an understatement. Mind you this is after he has yelled at his employee, disgusting.
I schedule appointments for my daughter and myself to get haircuts. I already get my lashes done here by Julie, she's amazing and does the BEST job! This was my first time getting my haircut here, as well as my daughter. Thao cut my hair and Jennifer cut my daughters. My haircut is amazing and it feels soooo good! I love what Thao did. My daughter absolutely loves her hair. I will say, she did NOT get the haircut I asked for. Maybe Jennifer is a bit new?? Idk, she's an awesome girl though for sure and She gave a good cut and my daughter is happy, so that's all that matters! I'm SO happy to have found this place, since we are new to the state. I will definitely only be getting my hair done by Thao from here on out!! Thank you for such a great haircut and experience!!
Yelp failed me this time. The girl I used for over 17 years traded in her scissors to focus on her children growing up. So, I began my search to find someone closer in proximity to me that I could trust with my hair. I don't have special needs hair. I don't color it anymore however, it is extremely fine...like, brand new baby fine. So, for the past few years, I just let it grow until I could find someone else. I turned to Yelp and looked thru reviews. I took my chances on the great reviews & made my appointment. It's obvious that the 20+ year stylist had no clue about hair texture. There are some things you can do to thick hair but cannot do to fine hair. The picture of what I presented vs. what I got was nothing close. I fully understand that stylists are not magicians, but I had enough hair to come close to what I asked for which could have been easily achieved with a trim & frame around the face down, not by cutting almost 5 inches off and "tapering" my super fine hair that left a butchered mess, then trying to curl it...when my picture obviously showed NO curl and saying my hair doesn't hold curl. I won't get my hair back, but at least I know I won't go here again.
I've always been a blonde and recently I dyed my hair darker. I wanted to transition back to blonde, but wanted that icy platinum! I noticed Tammy is really good at that; so I scheduled an appointment with Tammy after literally stalking her hair IG: hairbytammmy for months. She asked me if I had any hair inspiration photos, gave me a quote, and locked my appointment in. When I first got there, she was very welcoming, she greeted me with open arms and a hug! She asked me again what I wanted to achieve, told me the process, and got started! I noticed she takes her time, she used Olaplex, and she also used the Olaplex mask to help restore my hair. She told me I will need two process since I've dyed my hair darker. She was very knowledgeable and professional. She educates you about your hair through the process and gives you advice on how to maintain your color. I had little to no breakage and my scalp did not burn. It's been about a week and my scalp is healthy as can be! I've had other salons literally burn my scalp to where it starts scabbing! I couldn't be happier with my end results, and I'm looking forward to my next appointment to get even lighter!
Got my hair cut by Thao and loved the experience! He washed my hair and added a complimentary deep conditioner treatment for 10 min. Then, he made sure to blow dry my hair completely before cutting it to ensure an accurate cut. Lastly, he curled and sprayed my hair so I could see what it looked like styled. Pricing is fair and comparable to what I usually pay when I go to the midtown/montrose Houston area. read more

Just look at the photos, and you will see for yourselves!!! Mary did my hair and I trusted her 100% the entire time. She truly wants whats best for your hair and she loves what she does. I had thick and brown virgin hair and bleached it to blonde in one session, although I came back the next morning to do coloring because I had already spent 8 hours there. She used b3 in my hair to decrease the damage. My hair was fairly healthy by the end of the bleaching but I know it depends on each individual person... no hair is the same. I wanted something lavender so Mary and I discussed what style to do and we ended up doing shadow roots that faded from lavender to silver. Purple/silver hair is high maintenance because you need to use purple shampoo every wash to maintain a nice silver. If you decide to go with silver, ask Mary for all the aftercare!! She recommended me items to buy. I came back again last week to recolor my hair because the shadow root had fully faded and wanted something new. We decided on pink, purple, and silver. It looked soooooo pretty I didn't even believe it was my hair. I will definitely continue to come to Mary for my hair because she does an AMAZING job. She's an amazing stylist :-) read more

I absolutely love my hair! I met up with Mary for a consult first and I told her she could basically do what she wants with my virgin hair, my only thing was that I wanted to be an ashy blonde and she did not disappoint! The whole crew is very friendly and the vibe is chill too. I was there from 10am-5:30pm but the wait was definitely worth it! For any Asian that has dreams of going blonde, this is definitely the place to be! read more

I did some research prior to finding Tammy. Her work is flawless!!! She transformed my brassy red/orange hair into something I could've never achieved with anyone else. She even gave me helpful insight on how my hair would be achieved like the picture I showed her. Tammy is really detailed when it comes to hair and that's really unique because you can't find that anywhere since all these stylist are in a rush to finish your hair and go on to the next client. Tammy only works on one client the entire process and that's truly important. This salon is a little out my way, but be in mind that you'll only go to the salon 6 months after the initial appointment for touch ups, so the drive is well worth it. I couldn't be more happy of how my hair was transformed into this goddess blonde with so many dimensions! I'm a new woman!!! Book your hair appointment with Tammy! read more

I give props to the hair stylist for taking such a long time on my hair. My hair wasn't in the best condition and she was able to get it close to the picture. Although, in the end, my hair has brown spots and lines all in my bleached hair. I can only curl it to cover them up. For the outrageous ( More than my car payment on my new Volkswagen ) price that wasn't even close to the prices online, my hair should be near perfect. The stylist was great and patient. But for the price, i don't think it is worth it. read more

Omg this salon is amazing, everyone was super nice to me!!! My stylist was Mary and she did such an amazing job on my hair, it looks beautiful and it's very soft, the softest my hair has ever been. She was very sweet and made me feel very comfortable, I've never been in a hair salon before so I was really nervous but when I met Mary she made me feel comfortable surprisingly fast , I had a good laugh with her as well. I will definitely be coming back ! read more

I take all of the previous post back. After going back in after a few weeks to add the shadow root that we discussed, he totally ruined my hair. I'm so angry that my once healthy hair, that I patiently waited months to get the right shade of blonde, is gone!! Another stylist had to try to fix it, color remove, and tone with too much ash. In the end, all of it damaged my hair. Caution: foils will slip and leave you with bleed marks! I now have striped highlights where he attempted to repair the 4" shadow root. He refunded my money which I should've let him do in the first place rather than let him keep trying to correct his mistake. This was a terrible choice. Don't let him put a shadow root on your hair or put striped circa 2002, Kelly Clarkson, highlights in. He left me with hot roots all throughout my hair which he allows you to walk out with!!! I asked him to please cover them up, and he said he couldn't. He does not pay attention to you when you're speaking, and he does not do well with fine/thin hair. He actually hired better talent to work for him than what he can do. read more

Literally always a damsel in distress! Every single time I try to venture out and try new salons because of word-of-mouth the outcome is ALWAYS miserable. Thao is always my savior and helping me fix my hair!!! He has fixed and cut my hair numerous times now and I am so bless to have Thao as my hair dresser. I never met a hair stylist that cares about hair and is so knowledgeable like Thao. I promise myself that I won't ever go anywhere else!!! #1 hair stylist in Pearland. read more

Love love love it here. Book with Tammy and you won't regret it! I was fed up with my hair because it was fading into an odd color so I wanted something a bit different. I decided to go for gray. I was nervous coming in because not only do I have a lot of hair but it's also a bit much to work with. I had different colors in my hair, it was brassy and just an overall mess. I hear it's really difficult to get to gray from how my hair was before but Tammy worked miracles. I absolutely love how my hair came out. Tammy was so patient and you can tell she really cares for her clients. I have never been this happy with my hair. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back. :) read more

If you're willing to invest in your hair, I definitely recommend Studio 8 and Tammy specifically! I've recently dyed my hair two months ago and was disappointed with the results as time went on. After stumbling upon Tammy's instagram, I knew she was the hairdresser for me. I naturally have thick asian dark brown hair and going ash blonde is difficult. My previous stylist left my hair brassy within a month. However with Tammy's skills and care, she has managed to transform my hair! She spent six hours on my hair but by taking her time she gave me a whole new look. To be honest, my previous stylist didn't even give me ash blonde hair. However, Tammy has managed to achieve my hair goals through just one session! Tammy is truly a queen of blondes! read more

The experience at Studio 8 cannot be described as amazing, as it was WAY MORE than that! Thao is profession with his job! I showed him a picture of the hair I wanted, and he turned my hair into the exact and even better than the picture!!!! My black Asian hair now is ashy blond, which is very hard achieve, yet my hair looks great and healthy! I cannot be happier! And the price was fair for the gorgeous hair I got!!!! More importantly, I need to, again, thank Thao, coz he sacrificed his Father's Day to make me happy. Also, the girl, Tracy, is just as sweet throughout my experience! I cannot recommend Studio 8 more!!!! read more

Tammy is the best hair stylist ever! I came in with red, brittle hair and I asked her for an ashy blonde and she did it all in one session (it would take most stylist 2-3 sessions bc red is very hard to get out). It came out waaay better than my expectation. She made sure my hair is still very soft and healthy even though I've processed it a lot. Her prices are very reasonable for the amount of effort and work she put in. She is a perfectionist and cares about every little detail! She also explained to me every step of the process to ensure me it would come out the way I want it. The salon is very nice and clean. It was the best experience I've had and I'm beyond satisfied with my hair! read more

Came to Studio 8 to get a new dimension on my looks. My stylist here was Vantha. I haven't been at a hair salon for about 4-5 years except for a basic hair cut. But when I consulted Vantha she gave me a great quote and took good care of my needs. I got layers and loved the hair color I got. Although it wasn't anything crazy for moat people I kinda turned heads at work. I went from a basic to a wow. Loved it and so did my husband. read more

How much is it to get your hair dyed when you have box dye in your hair, for girls?
That would be considered a corrective color. In order to give you an accurate quote it's best to schedule a color consultation so we can see your hair in person :)
Do you do consultations? If so, is there a charge for them?
No charge for consultation!!
How much highlight cost at Studio 8? They told me it starts at $250. Is it true?
Full Highlight start 170 depen on length and thickness
Hello, what's a rough estimate of how much it costs for a ombré on long hair? Mid-back.
