I followed Dan to Liberty when he decided to open up his new shop and I have gotten 95% of my tattoos from Liberty artists since then. There's a lot to consider when you choose a tattoo shop and artist, you also have to look at both together. Liberty meets and surpasses the expectations on the total package when it comes to the tattoo experience. Liberty delivers a traditional and professional experience in an industry where tradition is hard to find. The artists have earned their seat at the table (metaphorically speaking) and the tattoos they make are the proof. I have personally witnessed multiple periods of time when Liberty was looking for new artists and the process was far from a first come first serve desperation search. From the first interaction going over designs and ideas, you notice the professionalism and pride in your artist. Once it's time to get in the chair, you witness firsthand the cleanliness your artist maintains from setup to breakdown. The artists at Liberty are extremely talented and the tattoos they create are of many different styles but one thing is constant, they do top notch work. After more than 16 years and over 50 hours in tattoo chairs at Liberty I still continue to recommend friends and family as well as go back myself, I even took my Mom to Liberty for her first tattoo. My Niece had her ears pierced by Val when she was a baby. As soon as we come back from vacation next week my wife and I are headed in for our next tattoos. I loved Amanda's design that she created for the portrait I let her have free reign because I kind of give the tattoo artists leniency as long as they're basically doing what I ask for. I had a great time while she was tattooing me we vibed well together which is always a good thing when getting tattooed. We were able to talk and I was in a good position to watch the tattoo getting done because if I am able to I like to watch it getting done. I loved my tattoo she did a great job and I appreciated it so much. I don't know about the other artists here except my friend Nicole got one done by Amanda and Justin did a cover up for her and she was also happy with both tattoos. I spoke to Jess about what I wanted, and explained an issue I was having with a current piercing. Jess listened to all of concerns and about what I wanted for my new piercing. She didn't rush me and actually listened and gave me feedback. Then, in the chair I was. Before I knew it Jess took care of one of my piercings and then I had the new piercing I wanted. Coincidentally on Biggie's death date I walked in for a booking after getting a haircut nearby. I met Austin, he's 22 but I was secretly calling him the 5 year old because I knew he was on the younger side. I'm 38. If he reads this review now he's going to know I called him the 5 year old. I showed him what I wanted and he booked me for the 22. On the day of the tattoo we only got the outline done but that is not Austin's fault, it's mine. I didn't know the tattoo was going to be so big and take so much time. I wanted to see the guy I'm seeing now (he was at my friend's house) and I had to run back to Baldwin to get my son from his father by 7:30. So Austin just completed the outline of the tattoo. I was going to schedule with him to come back for color but than I decided I'd like to have it colored in here and there by the two main artists I see regularly along with any other artists I encounter before it's all colored in for other work. So I probably won't be back to Notorious tattoo but my experience there was a good one and I can't complain about it. I also got a tank top on discount because I was getting tattooed that day and I appreciated the merch discount. I'll proudly wear the tank and maybe that will get one or two new clients their way.
