Visit Date: April 10, 2021 Ended up having back to back tattoos on two separate nights. I had a rescheduled appointment with Amanda to do a portrait of my cat that passed on many years ago. I loved Amanda's design that she created for the portrait I let her have free reign because I kind of give the tattoo artists leniency as long as they're basically doing what I ask for. I had a great time while she was tattooing me we vibed well together which is always a good thing when getting tattooed. We were able to talk and I was in a good position to watch the tattoo getting done because if I am able to I like to watch it getting done. I loved my tattoo she did a great job and I appreciated it so much. I don't know about the other artists here except my friend Nicole got one done by Amanda and Justin did a cover up for her and she was also happy with both tattoos. A great tattoo shop to come to if you're looking for work. read more

Eric Z is a genius. If you explain your idea, he will take it, make it more epic and the do an absolutely fantastic job. He has done both my sleeves and I get compliments all the time. The art is so fantastic. All freehand, all clean, all legit. He is an absolute master. Eric is methodical with his prep method and once he gets to work it's actually very interesting to watch him tattoo. He gets so locked in. Trust me, he is the dude. read more

Went in for a tattoo on a random Saturday a few weeks ago. Asked for lightning and two starbursts on my left hand. Lightning came out great, however the hand tattoo was not done correctly. As opposed to using a separate needle for shading, he used the same needle as the line work. During the healing process, the tattoo scabbed over and when the scab fell off the tattoo was completely faded and scared over. I've never had this experience in my life and my whole left arm is tattooed. Would never ever recommend this shop to anyone nor will I ever return. First and last time. Please be weary of this artist. I have pictures to verify scaring. read more

Got my helix piercing here by Alexandra, who was fantastic - put me at ease by thoroughly explaining the process and follow-up perfectly so I knew what to expect. It was my first piercing in 30 years or so, and my, how things have changed. I don't have any other piercings anymore (closed up after entering corporate decades ago), no tattoos, so I was a little nervous going in, but everyone made me feel very comfortable and I never felt rushed. The vibe is really cool, fun, and laid back. I'm so happy to have found this place and look forward to more piercings and maybe even a tattoo. We'll see! read more

Met with Greg for the first time as a walk in. I handed him an idea, and asked him to run with it. As soon as I saw his sketch I knew he was the one!! Greg absolutely nailed this piece, and even more so than I had in my head. I could not be happier. I have found my tattoo home & Artist from now on. Guy is an absolute legend in my book! Here's to many more pieces by him! read more

Came here for the very first time a year ago to get my nose and tongue pierced, I was nervous but exited. I met with Alexandra and she took my step by step with her never leaving me behind. She explained everything so throughly and made sure I absolutely loved the jewelry I picked. She took the time to have me try it all! So exited about my experience I came back two weeks later to get a double nostril on my other side. One year later I came to change my jewelry and she met me with the same kindness and grace. I recommend her to all my friends and family! I would simply never go anywhere else. read more

I've gotten all my tattoos done in this place by Amanda and she's the best, very humble person and whatever you wanna get done you show her and she will make it 10 times better. She did my first tattoo, and I've done the rest with her as well, and I will keep going back to her read more

I paid 220 dollars for a flat and 2 earlobe piercings which is STEEP. And my earlobes were slightly crooked. I got spiked earrings that sunk into my skin and it made the healing process hell. I was recommended to go here by a friend and I said oh my friend "Grace" recommended me to come here. Sami said "I love Grace" to my face but it turns out my friend had gone to the place before Sami even started working there :/. Do not recommend very expensive it's not worth it. read more

I've gotten several piercings done by this shop and I go to alexandra for each one. she's so sweet and gentle. the absolute best

Been coming here for about 3 years off and on for my piercings. They have the kindest staff and best quality jewelry. I got my philthrum pierced by Sammie and she was so kind/ thorough with the whole process. I will always recommend this shop to anyone wanting to get some nice jewelry or piercings :) read more

First off, their covid protocol is great. They have a doorbell to ring when you get there and depending on the capacity they will have you wait inside or in your car and come get you when they're ready. I called to make sure they were doing nose piercings (they are) and I was able to make an appointment for later the same day (piercings are appointment only). Alex the piercer is absolutely amazing. She is so so friendly and wonderful. From the beginning she made me feel comfortable and answered any question I had and gave her recommendation on what jewelry would suit me best. She has you initial a package with a needle so that you know the needle they use is freshly sterilized. The piercing itself (septum) was relatively painless and very quick and easy. Alex went over all of the aftercare and also offers a service that you can come in when the piercing is healed to change out the jewelry. She definitely takes all the necessary time with every client to make sure they're happy Overall I highly recommend Alex for any of your piercing desires :) read more

Mikey tubs has been my tattoo artist forever I've never needed another artist. His lines are clean the shading is clean and he does exactly what i want and I'm happy every time. Don't let the full body tattoos scare you. he's a super nice guy! Don't judge a book. I've never had a one bad experience never left disappointed. I believe Mikey would fix it if i was until i was. He's that passionate and confident in his work. He's a perfectionist. Mikey is experienced well beyond anyone that's ever tattooed me. He's looked up to by other fellow artists. I just wanted to take a minute to update my review. Since my original visit (which was a trouble shooting appointment as a result of a piercing from a different shop) I have now been back twice, once for a new piercing and to downsize and curate my ears. Both Alex & Sammie are amazing at what they do and have a light/gentle touch. The shop is incredibly clean, and sterile and they offer some beautiful high end jewelry (bvla etc) as well as a good assortment of titanium pieces as well. I will definitely be using them in the future when I decide to get pierced again. read more

Can't recommend this place enough I've had a few tattoos done by a couple different artists and everything's been absolutely awesome. Mikey Tubs has done two single needle pieces that turned out absolutely incredible. Way better than I could have ever imagined and Rachel did a piece for me that will live in my heart forever. thank you thank you very much. read more

Took my daughter today to get her ears repierced. Went with a professional piercer since she had some scar tissue. I had to get a notarized form for her, but luckily there was a bank nearby. We came back with the form, picked out the jewelry, and I decided to get a little something for myself. Sammie was excellent. She answered questions, explained everything before and during, and was just a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend. read more

Authentic Arts Tattoo & Piercing - My trio of piercings. - Tattoo Near Me - Smithtown, New York

If you are looking for a comfortable, safe place to get amazing piercings come see Alex! I have come here for my latest additions, including Daith, Nose and vch! Every time Alex makes me feel comfortable and practices safe clean piercing techniques that make it comfortable to get anything done here. I have also met and worked with Amanda who has been nice and equally as qualified. This is NOT your typical in and out piercing shop, and it is pricier than other places, but it is all justified because they have great quality jewelry and skilled employees. Will be coming back for my future piercing needs, and hopefully more tattoos as well! Thank you for the great experience and keep up the amazing shop you have! read more

Absolutely LOVED my visit. Made an appointment with Alexandra for troubleshooting, to switch out a piercing I got done at a studio in the city. The space was in the back of the tattoo shop and evidently kept very clean - and the wallpaper was super cute! She was so polite in switching out my piercings and even sized it for me. At the end of the visit my friend and I were looking at the piercings and they were all evidently high quality and well displayed. She even took some out to help me map out placements for my next visit. Alex also remembered my friend who had been there before for a cleaning, and cleaned out her piercings as a courtesy since she had no appointment. She was so friendly and definitely knew her stuff. Will be back for my next piercings!! read more

I got a foward helix and helix piercing done a month ago. Alexandra was very attentive and spent a lot of time with me picking jewelry and explaining the whole process. She spent a good five minutes just looking at my ears to see where the piercings will look the best. The shop had amazing jewelry selection ranging from 14k gold and diamonds to cheaper titanium pieces. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there and is looking foward to going back for my downsizing and consultation for getting more piercings done. read more

I've been to authentic arts for all of my tattoos. The staff is super cool and friendly. They're all very talented artists. The inside is super cool! I would say the vibe is upscale vintage. I also got my piercings done here. Alex recently changed my stud to a gold hoop and it looks amazing! She was super gentle and explained everything very well. Such a sweetheart! Their jewelry is also gorgeous. I would even come here just to hangout! I'm not going to lie, i also look forward to booking because the shop guy at the front with the eyebrow piercing is super cute and nice. Can't wait to go back! read more

I came in to get help putting in a nose ring that I already had. It was a cheap, corkscrew ring and I was shown what jewelry would be best for avoiding them falling out which is a persistent problem of mine. I ended up splurging a bit on a beautiful new piece that will last a long time. They went above and beyond to help me find something perfect, put it in for me, and explained the backing that they put in which is why they do not fall out easily at all. I am so happy with my new ring and how personable they were. Definitely will be going back!!! read more

I had Emmi downsize my tragus for me and she made it soooo tight it felt like it was stapled to my head. I mentioned it to her that night Then the next day went back to upsize and it was still too tight. Definitely poor sizing and judgment on her part. It hurt so bad like i had just gotten it pierced even though its been healed for years. This shop Seems inexperienced. I will not return. I had another piercer look at it who has a lot more experience and he noticed a cut in my tragus from whatever the heck she did (she was very rough) Totally unprofessional how she didn't know after she downsized it that it was wayyyyy too small. This shop will not get any more of my money. read more

I've been to this shop 3x for my piercings need. I've been happy each & every time. Emily is so sweet, professional & great at what she does. Yesterday, I went to get earrings put back in after having surgery. She did a great job & nothing hurt after having my piercings out for over a month. Looking forward to my next time at this shop whether it be for a new piercing or a tattoo read more

Gotten 2 tattoos done here so far, both by rachel. She does a great job and the tattoo studio in itself is awesome.

Extraordinarily friendly. I had just come from another shop after the owner cancelled my appointment 2 hours prior for no reason and wouldn't tell me why (he tattooed the rest of the day). Anyway...Authentic Arts: I met the owner Tommy who saw I was visibly upset by my recent experience and he was really nice and told me that we'll find an artist that would match the style of tattooing the other pieces were. I met Justin and honestly the level of expertise, attention to detail, and overall hospitality was astounding. I wasn't used to this level of professionalism and chillness. I'm heavily tattooed and this was an entirely different experience for me. 12/10 recommend!! I'm definitely coming back to finish my leg sleeves and start my arm sleeve here. It's clean, comfortable, and you feel like family. read more

I went to Authentic Arts for a nostril piercing. I was impressed upon entry with their cleanliness, efficiency, and friendliness. I was pierced by Alex, who was thorough, listened to what I asked, and offered her professional opinion as well in the most kind manner. The piercing itself was nearly painless and quick. I love it and I will definitely be going back! read more

Mikey Tubs was a rad artist, would go again and again!! Professional easy to work with! Listened to my ideas and created a piece just for me. read more

Had the best experience at this place! Alexandra, you're amazing! I came in looking to get 2 piercings done, but I still had some doubts about the location and also had no clue as to what kind of pieces I wanted to put in the new piercings. Alexandra spent at least half an hour with me solely helping me pick jewelry, holding it up to my ear, putting it away and then bringing it back again because of my "can I see that one again". She did not only make me feel very comfortable and did not rush me until I had "I love it moment!", but she also was very helpful and invested in picking the pieces that went well together, fit my desired design and my budget. The pieces I selected were sterilized before we started. Alexandra took her time to explain all of the post care instructions and I felt well informed. I got two piercings done, one in the earlobe was super easy, I almost did not feel anything. The second one was in the cartilage at the top of my ear(can't remember the proper term), it was a little more painful, but I felt the pain for maybe 30 seconds. The procedure was quick and the piercing room was clean and neat. It's been two days since and I do not fee l any pain or discomfort and absolutely love my new piercings! Thank you Alexandra for your care! read more

I got 3 dermal piercings on my collar bone and the lady who did it for me was amazing! I think her name was Alex and she was the sweetest.
