I had a great experience getting inked by Naty! It started with a concept and a couple of reference images, and she took it from there, creating this custom design for my partner and I. She shared her thinking with us as she showed us the design, and it was cool to see all of the other reference images she pulled to come up with the design. I get Henna (I use jagua) done mostly when I'm going on vacation. I say that to say because I'm often in and out of pools and the beach and also constantly washing my hands my henna (jagua) in *this* instance may not last as long as normal. On average Henna/ jagua can last 2-3 weeks with proper care. I've been to HennaByNaty before and the experience has always been a 10/10. I always enjoy the vibe and energy. I prefer to show examples of what I like and let the artist do their thing based on that. I usually get a design on both hands (including fingers) up to wrist and this time I decided that on vacation I didn't want to wear any necklaces and thus I would get a neck piece. I loved it and now if I don't plan to wear a necklace on vacation (I usually prefer on vacation just big earrings rings and brackets) the henna/jagua neckpiece will become a staple of my vacation ensemble. In March of 2020, my boyfriend became my fiancé when he proposed to me. After I came down from the unexpected surprise of our engagement I began envisioning my look for my wedding day in 2022. (We extended our engagement due to the pandemic.) Henna was always on top of the list. For formal events, I would rock a simple DIY henna design, but I really wanted to go all out. Now it was just a matter of figuring out who would help me... Hence the beginning of my search! I looked at artists around my area and soon discovered Naty's page! After checking out her website and Instagram page I was dead set on hiring her! One of the things I liked is that she offered a hengua option. A mixture of henna with jagua... something I didn't realize could be a thing! Via her Instagram page, she has a story highlight section called "STAINS!" There you can see the life span of the henna, hengua, and jagua designs based off of how well it's taken care of. This was a crucial reason why I wanted to hire her. Hoping she would be available a few days out from my wedding day she was already scheduled for another engagement. She offered to have someone else on her team do the design on that requested date, but I really wanted to work with her. After discussing this the closest date I could get was seven days before my wedding. When she came to my house to do my hengua it was like having an old friend over! Her energy was amazing and the process was just so cool to watch! She's so talented!!! From the three options, hengua seemed it would hold out best for me. I also did some further research for aftercare once the paste was removed from my hands. I purchased rubber gloves and that cast arm cover thing one uses while showering so the stain could last as long as possible. I was super diligent the first five days making sure I was very minimal with how much water I put on my hands. And after being super careful I'm happy to report my hengua design lasted up to my wedding day! There was slight fading on the tips of my index fingers, but that was because those were the fingers I relied on heavily when I had to type. I cannot tell you how many people in Middletown, CT was impressed with the design. Many thought I was wearing gloves and couldn't believe this was something that was done by hand because it just looked so perfect! Now Naty is an amazing human for this. I am the WORST with directions. I get lost in my hometown. So of course even when I thought I triple checked it... Wow, I am in shock. Made an appt with this woman for her services. Just got a very high temp and had to cancel all plans until I got to the doctor, do not want anyone else to get sick. Gave her a $30 deposit and didn't expect back. She sent me a LOOONNNGGGG explanation of why, basically, there is no way in @*&$ where you can get a deposit back. Ok. But in her "rules" she states that if you cancel less than 48 hours from the apt time, you will not only NOT get your deposit back, but you will be charged the remaining $60 for her "full hour service" on our credit card right then. And said to "be well." Bye. P.S. Beware of this "professional." She also charges $200 to travel from BK to Manhattan. I have never seen anything like this in my life.
