I have many tats but I have not gone for one in about 10 years. I was hesitant but after many months of thinking about it, I finally made an appt for a consultation. I have no words to describe how happy I am with the entire process. I didnt want to show up and then sit around waiting for hours. I was surprised when I arrived for my consultation 20 minutes early, Young was there waiting for me. She spent over an hour with me just on a consultation which she did NOT charge extra for. She simple ask that a person pay a deposit on the tattoo and that deposit is applied to the tat. Young followed up with me a few times to brainstorm ideas and to make sure that I would like her design. I arrived today for the appt and I was early and just like last time, she was there waiting for me. I was in the chair within minutes. Two things that most impressed me: 1. I knew she was an amazing artist, but she was VERY light handed. The pain level was SOOO much lower than in the past. I had my inner arm from the elbow to wrist done. Sure down by the wrist was more pain but I knew that couldnt be avoided. Before I arrived, I was worried I would tap out halfway through, but the pain level was so low, it was not even crossing my mind. I never realized that a good artist who is light handed makes the pain level so much less!!! 2. Young's personality was so welcoming. She talked to me almost the entire 4-5 hours. She was funny, warm and caring and made me her entire focus. She did not take any phone calls, emails or any breaks for herself. I never have been treated so good before. Overall I cannot say enough good things about my experience. The work is amazing, and now all I can think about is how many of my old tats Young can cover up in the future. It is so rare for business owners to treat their clients like kings and queens, but Young sure does. I am one happy customer and I will be going back.
Young does her client majority through appointment only and I got through her assistant via email. First, she missed the consultation because of a system error with her assistant's iPad, but she called me about 1.5 hours later apologizing about the issues and she made her way to her shop to do the consultation with me (I was still in the area). Young is super funny and nice and during my tattoo session, she worked fast and was super reassuring! I was in and out about I would say 2 hours or less? Her place is very clean and sterile! I didn't get any infection during my healing process and I was super happy with the end result. It's been about a little over a month and the ink of my tattoo look so fresh like I first got it. Thanks you Young for doing such an amazing work! I'll definitely be a returning customer if I am going to get another tattoo. Be warned: EAT BEFORE YOU GO (because I didn't, so she made me gobble down a can of soda and 2 fun sized candy so I wouldn't faint.)
One night after a couple of drinks I went and got a tattoo without doing my research thoroughly. The artist couldn't replicate the style of the lotus I wanted on my back. Worse of all, it was not centered. I instantly knew who to go to. I was positive that Young could come up with something to fix up this tattoo of mine without covering it up entirely. She was so patient in trying to find something that worked well with what I already had as well as something that I liked. She suggested a mandala and that sounded cool to me since I've seen her mandalas on previous clients and they all looked amazing. Took about an hour and a half and she turned my plain, crooked lotus into something mesmerizing. Thanks so much again young !!!
I've been wanting my rook pierced for some time now, and today I finally got the guts to actually do it. I'm terrified of needles, (watching videos don't help....don't do that if you're like me lol). I can handle tattoo pain but for some reason, piercings don't sit well with me. Anyway, I've been following Young for a while on instagram and I was loving her work. So I decided to go to her to get my piercing done and to see how her work is like in person. The place is clean, she's sanitary, and she works very efficiently. Once it was time for me to get my piercing done, she had me fill out a paper, show my ID, the usual stuff. Then she sat me in the chair, cleaned my ear, got everything ready, and the rest was history. I got my rook pierced, and no lie, that sh*t hurt like a motherf***er (but I was already expecting that...).However she did it very fast, joked around a bit. and before I knew it, I was out the door. I'd definitely be back for future tattoos, I'm getting one fixed up soon. I can't wait to see her work her magic. I would totally recommend her.

Honestly, getting a tattoo from Young has been my best tattooing experience so far--I have a "tattoo list" that I've been working on, and even though I'm moving to Maryland, I would GLADLY make the trip for my next piece. Young is the most real and personable artists I've ever met. She doesn't mess around if you want a price (no "charging by the hour" stuff since she works so quickly) and she'll just tell you the cost right off the bat, and her work is worth it (you get what you pay for with tattoos). I'm the kind of person that wants to feel like I can trust the person who is tattooing me, and she is it--chats with you, really tries to know what design you want, but she also makes sure you know her opinions as an artist and what she knows looks/works well/ best within the sort of design and placement you want. She's confident and excited about her work, and it's always a good thing when an artist is really into the piece they're doing! And in the end, her work is beautiful--it really speaks for itself! It's worth calling or sending a message to meet her and get one hell of a tattoo--highly recommend!! (And the tattoo looks even better in person than in the picture!)
Young, once again, is awesome awesome awesome!!! My friend and I got tattoos. she got birds on her back and I got a larger piece on my thigh. Both were executed professionally and cleanly, and Young was so friendly and entertaining the whole time. A true artist!
Amazing!! I went here for a double auricle (ear) piercing and it was awesome. Some things that prompted my review: - Young was easy to get in touch with and set up an appointment with me for the same day - She was professional and had her own sense of spunky style (her studio deco is gorgeous) - My piercings were quick and clean, in and out 20 min (it has been about three to four weeks and they are healing nicely) I ended up bringing my sister here later, and she also got a piercing. Highly recommended! I know I will be back here for my next round soon.
If I could give more stars I would give a million stars!!!! Young is the best and I am so glad I went with her for my tattoo! This was my first tattoo. Upon doing my first consultation she advised me on what would look best on me in terms of design and placement. When I went in for the tattoo, I was very nervous but she made me feel very relaxed. She is very fun to talk to during the session. Her work is very detailed and I absolutely LOVE the end product. I have gotten so many compliments on my tattoo as well. It healed wonderfully (the picture is from a month after getting the tattoo). Yes she is a bit pricey but I prefer to pay for something amazing than to pay less for something of lesser quality. I absolutely LOVE Young and her work and will definitely be going back to her for my next tattoo!! Highly highly highly recommend her!

Went there today for a tattoo because I really wanted some new ink. Young did my tattoo on my arm, she drew it out for me within minutes and I gave her the freedom to do it however she wanted. I love the tatt I will definitely come back for more tatts and possibly some piercings!
Young is sooo personable. She's a straight shooter and gives you her honest opinion. Called her and she took me right away. Wrapped up a wedding band tattoo in 20 mins. Beautifully done. Loves listening to gospel music and laughing while working. Great gal.

I have a few tattoos and this experience was BY FAR the best! Young was so fast and nearly painless. She did an amazing job on my tattoo, I am so happy with it and plan to travel back to New York (from Alaska) just for another tattoo by her. Young Bae is amazing! Since having her baby, she hasn't been back at her shop until yesterday. I met Young at the Brooklyn Tattoo Expo on Saturday and because the font I liked didn't look exactly how I imagined it to be, Young told me to wait until Monday where we can meet at her shop where she had more font options. Upon arriving at the shop, my friend and I arrived 30 mins earlier and Young happened to be right behind us. We all entered the shop and keep in mind, it has been almost 3 months since anyone was there. Before tattooing me, she wiped and disinfected the whole tattoo area down. She's very hygienic. She covers the tattoo bed with a plastic cover and changes it for each client (I witnessed this at the Tattoo Expo as well). Young was very patient and offered me different suggestions on tattoo placement. I like my tattoos hidden but in very sexy, feminine locations. Young's work is very neat and she was so quick! Once she started my tattoo, it only took about 11 mins (yes, I timed it.) lol. Thanks again for your amazing work! I look forward to seeing you again! read more

My mom and I are tattoo lovers, and all of mine have been done by her! She's friendly, funny, gentle and CLEAN! She uses the highest quality needless and ink and covers all of the wiring in plastic, disinfects and opens the needles in front of you. I'm so happy and proud to have her work on me and I always have good experiences there. She's expensive but so worth it, hopefully I can go to her for another one soon! read more

Seriously, one of the better artists you will meet. Young is really talented and is very reasonably priced. You can see her artwork all around the store. My favorite thing about this place is her personality. She is the type to talk you through the process and make you laugh along the way. Have gotten almost all my tattoos from her except for my first one. read more

If anyone is in New York in the Times Square area and wants to get a tattoo, I highly recommend Young at Diamond Tattoo in Hells Kitchen. I was amazed she was able to do my tattoo in just a half an hour and with amazing detail! My tattoo has healed up so nicely and faster than any previous tattoos I have gotten elsewhere. Young is such a talented artist. I like all her pieces. The speed and precision are also very impressive. She provided professional opinion on design, size and the placement. I am so happy about the result. I got mine done in 30-40 min with minimum pain. I have started to think the next one! What a great experience. This was my first tattoo and Young and JK were amazing! Went for a no pressure consultation and they were honest and fair. Told me the pros and cons of my design.
