Young Bae is amazing! Since having her baby, she hasn't been back at her shop until yesterday. I met Young at the Brooklyn Tattoo Expo on Saturday and because the font I liked didn't look exactly how I imagined it to be, Young told me to wait until Monday where we can meet at her shop where she had more font options. Upon arriving at the shop, my friend and I arrived 30 mins earlier and Young happened to be right behind us. We all entered the shop and keep in mind, it has been almost 3 months since anyone was there. Before tattooing me, she wiped and disinfected the whole tattoo area down. She's very hygienic. She covers the tattoo bed with a plastic cover and changes it for each client (I witnessed this at the Tattoo Expo as well). Young was very patient and offered me different suggestions on tattoo placement. I like my tattoos hidden but in very sexy, feminine locations. Young's work is very neat and she was so quick! I have many tats but I have not gone for one in about 10 years. I was hesitant but after many months of thinking about it, I finally made an appt for a consultation. I have no words to describe how happy I am with the entire process. I didnt want to show up and then sit around waiting for hours. I was surprised when I arrived for my consultation 20 minutes early, Young was there waiting for me. She spent over an hour with me just on a consultation which she did NOT charge extra for. She simple ask that a person pay a deposit on the tattoo and that deposit is applied to the tat. Young followed up with me a few times to brainstorm ideas and to make sure that I would like her design. I arrived today for the appt and I was early and just like last time, she was there waiting for me. I was in the chair within minutes. Two things that most impressed me: 1. I knew she was an amazing artist, but she was VERY light handed. The pain level was SOOO much lower than in the past. I had my inner arm from the elbow to wrist done. Sure down by the wrist was more pain but I knew that couldnt be avoided. Before I arrived, I was worried I would tap out halfway through, but the pain level was so low, it was not even crossing my mind. I never realized that a good artist who is light handed makes the pain level so much less!!! 2. Young's personality was so welcoming. She talked to me almost the entire 4-5 hours. She was funny, warm and caring and made me her entire focus. She did not take any phone calls, emails or any breaks for herself. I never have been treated so good before. Overall I cannot say enough good things about my experience. The work is amazing, and now all I can think about is how many of my old tats Young can cover up in the future. It is so rare for business owners to treat their clients like kings and queens, but Young sure does. I am one happy customer and I will be going back. read more

First, she missed the consultation because of a system error with her assistant's iPad, but she called me about 1.5 hours later apologizing about the issues and she made her way to her shop to do the consultation with me (I was still in the area). Young is super funny and nice and during my tattoo session, she worked fast and was super reassuring! I was in and out about I would say 2 hours or less? Her place is very clean and sterile! I didn't get any infection during my healing process and I was super happy with the end result. It's been about a little over a month and the ink of my tattoo look so fresh like I first got it. One night after a couple of drinks I went and got a tattoo without doing my research thoroughly. The artist couldn't replicate the style of the lotus I wanted on my back. Worse of all, it was not centered. I instantly knew who to go to. I was positive that Young could come up with something to fix up this tattoo of mine without covering it up entirely. She was so patient in trying to find something that worked well with what I already had as well as something that I liked. She suggested a mandala and that sounded cool to me since I've seen her mandalas on previous clients and they all looked amazing. I've been wanting my rook pierced for some time now, and today I finally got the guts to actually do it. I'm terrified of needles, (watching videos don't help....don't do that if you're like me lol). Honestly, getting a tattoo from Young has been my best tattooing experience so far--I have a "tattoo list" that I've been working on, and even though I'm moving to Maryland, I would GLADLY make the trip for my next piece. I'm very disappointed with my experience at Diamond Tattoos. I was really looking forward to getting a tattoo here because I think Young does amazing work, based on the pictures and reviews at least. I contacted her through email and sent her a picture of the tattoo I wanted, asking how much it would be. The tattoo and the picture that I sent her was a very small simple rose(black and white). This tattoo was so small and simple, I was expecting the most would be $200. I was so surprised when she answered back and said that I was looking at $700. Afterwards, I contacted other highly reviewed shops throughout Manhattan and Queens and they all offered me a price under $250. Young looks like she does really fine work. But her prices are way too expensive. I can get the same tattoo tattooed on me 3 times at another shop, for the same price Young charges for one. If you're not extremely rich and can't just drop $700 on one small tattoo, then you might want to consider another place. I can't even imagine the price she charges for bigger tattoos, probably thousands. I'm very disappointed with this tattoo place. read more
