TLDR: Got a navel done here - pricy but 100% worth it to be done by a very skilled and experienced piercer. It's a permanent thing on your body so I would pay more ensure that it's done correctly anyway! The service here was amazing and everyone is incredibly knowledgeable and excited to work with you! I had the pleasure of working with George to do my piercing. Upon walking into my appointment I was greeted by another employee who checked my ID and walked me through the process while George was getting ready for me. He was so friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and welcoming! He warned ahead of time that navel is an anatomy- based piercing so there's a chance I won't be able to get it done after my consultation, in addition to aftercare and resources so that I'm well-armed with everything I need to know to take care of my new piercing. In the last I've had my navel done unprofessionally, and then again professionally about a few years ago so I was hesitant about the scarring. George did my consult and assured me that it was safe for me to get it done again. He walked me through the process and talked through exactly what he was doing for prepping and piercing so I didn't get anxiety in anticipation. My navel looks beautiful and it's healing so nicely!! Don't get piercings here. Aside from the fact that they have a minimal (yet overpriced) selection of earrings to choose from, they overcharge in multiple follow up procedures that they recommend, "but don't require," but still highly suggest you do, kind of pressuring customers into it. But that's not even it -- it's been 8 months since I got very basic ear piercings and I took off what they used and it has not been going well. They bleed once in a while, they haven't healed, etc. In general this place gets a no for several reasons, primarily due to poor piercing results and overcharging. read more

I did a walk in and they were super friendly and kind about it since no one was currently in the shop. I had a stud in since july 2023 and never had any issues, I got it pierced in a really nice place in the Netherlands for 50 euros. The guy who changed out my piercing kept trying to make a certain hoop fit and i was in so much pain. After a few minutes I finally spoke up and he agreed and said yeah I might need to get a different size. When he put in the bigger size it immediately fit. My nose was sooo irritated after that but I didn't think anything of it at the time. However, everyday since it's been fluctuating between mildly irritated to extremely irritated. Pricing is yikes. Changing out my piercing was $128. It's apparently 14k gold but after reading other reviews i'm weary it's fake esp bc my nose is not doing great and it was perfectly fine w my 14k gold stud from the netherlands.... I'm soooo sad because now I have this giant infection on my nose. I've been spraying with aftercare spray, not fighting with the piercing or picking at it at all but today I woke up and it's huge. read more

They got back to me on a timely manner and confirmed the size of the tattoo I wanted to get was ok - so I paid the deposit ( $150 + taxes) and made an appointment for yesterday at 6pm. During the day I receive a call to check if I could could come in earlier and I do my best to get out of work earlier to get there by 5.30pm. The tattoo studio is on the third floor of the building and once I enter the room, two ladies are at the desk staring at me like I didn't belong there. I provide my vaccination card, ID and then one of the 2 ladies (which ends up being my tattoo's artist) approaches me and show me 2 completely different designs from the one I sent. The whole situation was very unclear to me, and I asked why she made her own draft, when I clearly sent them by message the tattoo that I wanted. The replied I received, was that she couldn't copy another artist work and I've should have known better since it's "IMPLICIT". I don't have tattoos all over mu body, but I did quite few in the past and I HAVE NEVER HAD this kind of problem. I have no problem if by policy you decide NOT TO COPY other's people work, but that's YOUR POLICY and it's not "IMPLICIT" as she would mention multiples time to me - like I'm some kind of jerk. I tend to be a very positive and understanding person, but when I realize I'm being fooled and that the other party is not even considering to meet me halfway, than things can get nasty. They would deny giving me my deposit back as per signed contract " I should have cancelled the appointment 5 days ahead" - but please enlight me, how could I have cancelled the appointment if I was NOWHERE TO BE MENTIONED THAT I COULDN'T GET THE TATTOO I WANTED? Needless to say the conversation started "heating up" ( I'm saying heating up not because of any screaming or disrespect, just because the situation was VERY uncomfortable). They even tried to say that such thing was mentioned also on the deposit form I signed, which I checked myself and IT WAS NOT. Probably annoyed by the situation, a third guy who was doing a tattoo stood up and came to the desk area and grab/started reading the document I signed...like he was trying to find a way to fool me over (SOOOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I had 3 piercings done (helix and both second lobes) by Vicki. CLEANLINESS: 5/5 The studio takes its COVID precautions *very* seriously, and I'm all for it. The studio is appointment only (even to browse jewelry). Every client and staff must wear a mask at all times, and visitors have to call before entering the studio. The space is beyond clean. The staff engages in sanitation practices before and after every appointment. Ok, so I was there earlier this evening for a tragus piercing. The shop is well lit and very clean. They have a great selection of jewelry. Something for every tax bracket. Some Yelpers here have mentioned having their tragus pierced by Kirsten so I made my appointment with her. When I arrived, I had about 10 questions in my phone's notepad. She patiently answered them all. They let me take my time deciding on my starter piece. The whole staff was really *expletive* nice! Soooo, when it was time for me to get pierced, yes, I was nervous. In the past couple of months, I've watched just about every video about tragus piercing on YouTube. Some had me a lil nervous. Some piercees seemed to feel a pain. Some seemed to feel nothing. One gal said that when the needle pierces the cartilage, it sounds like the crunch of someone biting into a taco. I was sooo eager to hear that sound! But...I heard nothing. I felt nothing. For a sec, I thought maybe my ear is...dead? Has no nerves? I dunno. Maybe it's just that Kirsten is THAT good at what she does! Yeah, I think that's it. That gal's a pro! After doing my research on shops in NYC, I consistently saw Studio 28 and after exploring the artists and styles, I decided that Jenny had the best range and precision for the style I was looking for. It's been nearly a month, and everything has healed quite nicely, and I could not think of a better experience for my first tattoo. Jenny was diligent, showed me a few variations on my design (I wanted something rather simple), and took the time to answer my questions. Even prior to the appointment, my correspondence with TJ who had been addressing all of my questions (especially as a first timer), was excellent. I had a very DISTRESSING experience at Studio 28 and left the place incensed. The sales personel would not enable me to truley see if earings I was considering would genuinely fit. You have to buy an earing based on the salesman's estimation of its fit, if it's not comfortable or right guess what, it is the customer's loss. I was made to give a $44 deposit. I had no idea going into this that if you don't buy it's tough luck customer, you've lost your money. I did not buy because I found the sales tactics to disreputable but now I am also out my $44. They also take your personal identification before you even work with them. When I became unhappy with how things were going and felt flim flammed with disreputable pricing policies I said I wanted my personal information wiped from their system and the woman there claimed she removed my info but sarcastically refused to show me it was taken care of. Before walking out I told them how I really felt about my experience: everything is done to protect and benefit the store and nothing is done to make the customer happy -- its all one way -- theirs. I will be working with my credit card company to try to get my $44 back, they don't deserve it. They don't understand negotiating to get a fair deal done. Both Kirsten and Vicki Rose are absolute top-tier, impeccable, precise, communicative piercers who understand the intricacies of not just piercing but cleanliness, placement, and healing. I've also done downsizes and switch-outs here many times. I can only rate the experience 3/5 stars and here's why. While my experience was initially positive - friendly staff, informative on after care, and clean/sterile; my after care has been somewhat complicated by redness and some minor swelling at my piercing site. At my appointment I was told to check in/discuss how the piercing is healing approximately 1 month later. I reached out with my concerns approximately 1 month later, and have waited days for a reply after an initial request for photos. For a shop that charges the rates they do, I expected better follow up. I would have probably liked to know this prior to picking where to get my piercing and hence why I'm leaving this review. Studio 28 is the best of the best. I made an appointment here for nipple piercings with Vicki about a week ago. Overall, my experience was nothing short of stellar. We love a salon that takes COVID guidelines very seriously! Every guest must call before walking in and everyone within the salon wears a mask. The salon is clean and staff engages in sanitation practices before and after every appointment. The only guests inside were my partner and me at the time, so it wasn't crowded at all either. As soon as I walked in, the front desk made sure that I was right at home. Although the barbell ends I initially wanted were out of stock, they were able to help me select some other pretty ones I was happy with. Right after signing the paperwork, I received lengthy aftercare instructions for my piercings. The staff is experienced, knowledgeable, and forthcoming with answers to any questions and/or concerns. Vicki in particular was kind, gentle, and thoughtful through every step of the piercing process -- not only did they provide further information about the piercings and aftercare, but their perfect bedside manner also helped alleviate any pain I felt. The only con I can think of is that it's pricey, but is that really an issue when it's an acclaimed, high-end salon that uses only premium jewelry and materials? You're not just paying for a piercing, you're paying for the level of professionalism that this salon provides. It was a no-brainer for me: I visited this salon not only for the wide range of jewelry options (which are ALL gorgeous and varied!) compared to other salons but also because I had wanted to make 100% sure that I was in good hands for such a vulnerable place being pierced. I can now say with certainty I made the right choice - now that the initial swelling has subsided, my piercing placement is still on-point and looks great! Bo is such a talented artist. He absolutely killed my tattoo - it's perfect, and I'm obsessed. Initially, I communicated with TJ online to send over what I wanted, schedule, etc., and that comm was great. I chose Bo to do my tattoo and came in with an intricate design based on an album cover. Kristen's got magic fingers. I was a bit nervous to get my conch piered today but Kristen did an amazing job. I would say the piercing pain was between a 1or 2 from a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst) I would diffently recommend to anyone. I will also come again to get my rook done w her. I had a fantastic experience with them!! I got both my second lobes pierced by Kirsten and she was always extremely friendly and attentive. She was very willing to answer questions I had about getting more piercings in the future and even marked out areas on my ears that she felt would suit my particular ear structure. She also encouraged me to connect with her over Instagram where she continued to answer any and all piercing related questions I had asked (including giving me advice about what places to go to if I wanted to get pierced in Seattle, the city I'm staying in this summer). I'm sure she's very busy handling other clients but her responses have always been well thought-out and helpful. Please note, it is quite expensive here (I payed almost $250 to be pierced and given two very small sphere shaped earrings) but I think the price is warranted given both everyone's professionalism/experience and the fact that all the jewelry used are made of solid gold. I was referred to this studio to fix a problem with a piercing I was having. I booked an appointment online with Vicki in a day (it had urgency) The place was really clean, and they enforced social distancing/mask mandates really well. Vicki is an amazing piercer; she was able to assess nhe situation and resolve my problem while talking to me about what she is doing every step of the way and confirming with me if I'm comfortable. She took measurements and double checked to make sure of everything; along with following through on sanitation guidelines dealing with everythitg. She was very quick with the procedure; (thankfully, cause she was fixing my apadravya which is regarded as a very painful piercing) and really did not hurt much at all. She answered all my questions and gave me aftercare advice. I also recommend getting the aftercare spray there should you need it; as the mist spray is infinitely better than the saline sprays available in pharmacies for piercings. One thing that I really liked was while waiting for my taper to come out the autoclave; I overheard another customer getting aftercare advice for a nipple piercing which was incredibly detailed and explained the reasoning behind each practice. It shows that they are really good with informing you of how to heal. Really great place; would definitely recommend.
