I had an absolutely fantastic experience here. I came here a little less than a year ago to get 2 cartilage piercings, and Alicia was the one to do them (she did a very nice job and was super friendly during the entire procedure, making sure I was happy with the placement before piercing). Fast forward to now, I was looking for a local tattoo artist who did really good line work. I'm a bit of a space head because I didn't realize that, when I found Alicia's work on Instagram, I had already met her. I recognized her upon walking in, and again had an amazing experience. She was again very helpful and just nice during the entire process. I got a lotus tattoo on my sternum and she did a BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL job. She has done a few pieces that looked very similar, so I knew she would be the perfect artist to do mine. I have already received numerous compliments on the tattoo, even from the critical friends :p She actually had me come in a few days later to replace some of the "extra skin layer" that you leave on afterwards since a little had come off. I've had a few tattoos done by Steve over the past several years. I've had other tattoo artists in the past and I would not get another one done by anyone else. Yes, as others said, he has a very high attention to detail but what is more important and twice as impressive is his determination to get everything exactly the way you want it. I wish I could give 0 stars. This place's morals are in question. This is worth reading. To start, I am a disabled veteran and a recipient of the purple heart. I put 5 years of thought into the sleeve which I want as a reminder of my service and the sacrifices which my fellow service members have made. I specifically picked Gina at tormented souls because I thought she did really good birds, as there will be two in my sleeve. I called to check availability for Gina, she actually answered the phone and told me that she was currently free. I told her that I was on my way, I stopped by the bank to get cash and it was about a 30 min drive to the shop. When I arrived , she was just starting a tattoo with a walk in customer. I found this to be very rude, since I did speak with her and I told her I was on my way. So I understand that this is a business and I wasn't even mad that I drove all the way down there for no apparent reason. I then scheduled an appointment with her and left a $100 deposit ( as she requested ) The day of my appointment I had found out that my son was in the hospital because he was attacked by a dog, which the mother of my children had lied to me about. I went to the precinct and was going from hospital to hospital trying to find my son. She (Gina) had called me during my search for my son and I explained to her the situation and tried to reschedule . She then told me that I would lose my deposit if I didn't come in that night, which was obviously out of the question. I honestly don't know how you could run a business when you have employees with such morals. read more

Went here to get my nose pierced when pierced I was bleeding the piercer said it was normal but I went to body designs yesterday in deer park had to get it re-pierced no bleeding. tormented souls not only put in a small hoop they gave me a hoop that does not even close from the inside so the inside closed up they also charged me $50 when I paid so much less for 2 piercings at body designs with good instructions on how to care for it and better jewelry. read more

It was my first one and I was nervous that I'd have a train wreck on my leg for the rest of my life, but I couldn't be happier with it! What an excellent experience. I never got a tattoo because I was met by a condescending (red?) haired, tattooed old woman who was very bothered by my existence. She rushed me through a 2min. convo about what I wanted done. My boyfriend purchased me a gift card and booked an appointment with Steve for my birthday gift of a tattoo. I decided I wanted to cover up an old and ugly, bold, shamrock tattoo with writing that I had gotten about 13 years ago... my vision was to cover it with a Koi fish. Steve was extremely communicative prior to the appointment date when I would constantly bother him with questions and ideas. On the day of the appointment- I was greeted by other artists from the shop and immediately felt comfortable. Filled out the form, And then met Steve. Alicia did my industrial piercing and I have to say I'm very happy. Not going to lie it hurt like heck haha but comparing it to the piercing I received 6 years ago on the opposite ear I can see the difference. I went in to cover up a few old tats with one big new one and at first didnt know what I could do or if it was possible, but I found the owner Steve and the rest of the staff to be very helpful, creative, honest and professional through the whole process. Needed to update my dragon tattoo from 20 years ago, I've wanted to do it for years but just never got around to it! I wouldn't expect to find an authentic Chinese Dragon in East Northport, ya know what I mean? Usually people get Asian Dragons in Hong Kong or at least a Chinatown! I was expecting to see some Puff the magic dragons...you know like a purple one with wings? Boy was I surprised. I went in just to browse because it was in my neighborhood. I meet the artist who turns out to also own the place, very nice decor, cool sign outside, an electric chair and skeleton props with nice furniture! The guy is a bald dude with a spike through his ear lobe, the kind of guy you find in a prison movie, or a dude with an axe or chainsaw ready to kill you on Halloween! After speaking with him for a while, he showed me some asian dragons, as well as ancient sung wu kong monkey designs...I'm like, wow! HTF did you know about that stuff? Apparently all professionals should know everything about every culture if you want to perfect your trade!!, Steve does! And remember my first impression of him? Another example of "never judge a book by it's cover!"... Nicest guy ever!!, I saw his work, his entire portfolio was amazing, a true artist! This was the best tattoo experience I could have had. I worked with Steve on the beginning of what will eventually be a full sleeve. Steve sat and listened to my vision and we got to work on on designing it. He thoughtfully gave me some suggestions from an artistic stand point and from his years of experience and he was very exited about my ideas as well. I trusted him wholeheartedly throughout the entire process. He made me feel very comfortable (as tattoos can sometimes be uncomfortable) and the finial product is even more beautiful than I originally imagined. Cartilage piercings were pierced with butterfly backs which are not good for healing, cleaning or leaving room for swelling and should not be used on this type of piercing. Had to switch to flat backs I ordered myself after only 2 weeks. Piercings were done quickly and smoothly though. read more

I came in today with a friend and we both were getting ear piercings by Sal. From the start we both noticed he seemed to be in a rush despite us two being the only people in the shop waiting for piercings. When I was called back he was very cold and unfriendly and I sensed because he was in a rush that he was going to mess up therefore I stated 3 times what type of piercing I wanted (mid cartilage) when he finished I got up to look in the mirror and he completely pierced the wrong part of my ear. I let him know and he pierced it again in the right spot however he wasn't apologetic at all for my now swollen bloody ear. Although his second try he got it right and it looks great this definitely wasn't worth the extra pain and frustration of being being pierced in the wrong spot as well as being cold towards customers. He did give me $10 off though which was appreciated. read more

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. My sister wanted to get a piercing and has severe anxiety so she needs someone she knows to be there with her. When i called to make the appointment for her (because she can't call because of her anxiety) i told them she needed me back there with her and they said no. They were not understanding of her mental health issues whatsoever. I understand them wanting things to be sanitary but they should understand someone's mental health. I'm disgusted by their lack of compassion for my sister. Don't ever support a place that doesn't understand mental health!!!! read more

Regina is by far the most unprofessional tattoo artists i have ever met. I did a walk in with no appointment and the piece of garbage tattoo she put on my body is a constant reminder to never ever do that again. I paid $300 for a 4in by 3in tattoo and only went back for one touchup because regina is so unprofessional that she never even showed up to the second touch up appointment. I went to this shopbecause i have never heard a bad thing about it but the truth is the shop is allllll about Steve everyone else is just fillers (the other artists in the shop were EXTREMELY rude to me). Spur of the moment piercing with no place in mind...google led me here. And boy, do I owe google. Alicia and Danny were so welcoming, it felt like walking into a shop I've been in a thousand times. Everything was immaculately clean. The awesome decor matched the lovely girls attitudes. They took care of everything for my sister and I. I came here about 3 years ago to get a double cartilage piercing. I know the expected heal time for this kind of piercing is about 1 year maybe a little more so I was waiting as long as possible to write this review...both my piercings got infected almost immediately and the swelling and discoloration on my top piercing still hasn't gone away after 3 years! Every 2 months or so I have to get the piercing drained because the swellings becomes so painful and dark purple. NEVER get a piercing from here. It was a waste of money and still causes me too much pain. read more

First off I want to start by saying I'm a 52 year old guy who has been getting tattoed since I was 18. In that time I've been tattoed by different artists from NY to Fla. Some good and some who had no business tattooing anything more than an orange. That being said I made some bad choices in artists early on, one in particular was so bad I was embarrassed to wear a short sleeve shirt. As I got older I found a good artist to cover that nightmare which renewed my hope to complete my original plan of both sleeves and a chest piece. My theme is black and grey wildlife scenes. Well I thought I found my guy until I seen someone who was tattooed by Steve Gagliano. I asked of it was the work of a other artist across the country who specialized in Black and grey realism only to find out it was Steve's work and he was only 45 mins from my house. Well the timing was perfect as I had just asked my current artist to do a cover on my last remaining messes from the past only to be told it wasn't possible. I would need it laser removed before he could tattoo what I wanted in its place. Well I went and spoke with Steve about it and he said it would be no problem.. Two sessions later I had my best tattoo to date! And IT WAS A COVER-UP!!!!.. That was it I found my guy!! Steve just completed an incredible chest piece which rounded out my tattoo project. Now, nine days after my second and final session on that piece I'm wanting "one more" from him.. Although I never wanted a tat anywhere other than where I have now. I can't resist the urge to have him tattoo another one of these incredible realistic "photos" on me. I'm sorry for the long winded story here but after getting so screwed in the past I felt it was important to say my piece and hopefully save someone the embarrasment and disappointment of a bad tattoo.. Bad tattoo artist and worst business man!! Steve did on tattoo for me that was an good copy on my leg but got swollen for weeks. I gave him another chance a year later I asked him to do the tikki god of the sea for a coverup on my shoulder, he changed the face of the god and tried to freehand the tattoo, I was not happy and showed a couple other tattoo artists and they all said the lines were terrible and maybe he was on drugs when he did it because no tattoo should ever look like this, both artists stressed to not go back to him. I told Steve my concerns and he said "you signed a contract and I can draw whatever I want" so I told him I was not happy and will not go back based on his reaction and other professional opinions. I asked for a refund to put toward the removal of this bad tattoo, and he refused. He also made an appointment that I told him I could not make to begin with, then he wouldn't even give me my deposit back on the appointment I didn't want. Now it's going to cost me thousands of dollars to remove this poor attempt at a coverup. read more

I could not have asked for a better first tattoo experience. I came in during one of their holiday specials and Alicia was able to take me right away. She was very sweet and took the time to make sure I loved the layout/size/lettering of the tattoo before starting, which I really appreciated. The entire process was fun and comfortable, and the tattoo looks beautiful. I came here to get a new nose screw after another place on jericho gave me a horrible one that kept coming out. The staff was amazingly kind and helpful, and they even put the new piercing in for me. The entire place is very clean and kept, and the woman who replaced my nose screw even gave me some tips on how to clean it. Keep note that they do NOT take credit cards!! They do have an ATM inside though. If I ever decide to get another piercing, this is where I'm going to. read more

I highly highly recommend tormented souls for a child's ear piercing. I brought my 7yo daughter here to get her ears pierced on a monday afternoon. She really wanted her ears pierced, but she was also scared of the pain (she is one of those kids who screams and fights getting a shot, but she had stuck by her request for pierced ears!) The two women who pierced her ears were so unbelievably patient- they took the time to talk to her and help her get comfortable and had one person on each ear so that it would be done in one shot. They even went "on two" so that my daughter didn't jump away. It has been a few weeks, and her ears are healing nicely. After a few days she said "they barely hurt at all!" Yes, there are a lot of skulls and tattoo decorations in the waiting room Bc it is a tattoo and piercing business, but their care and expertise make this a great place for a child's ear piercing. I'm so sorry that I can't remember the names of the women who pierced her ears because they were amazing! read more

He listened to me and ensured that I was happy with the scale, placement and colors of my tattoo. The entire experience was positive, including a visit from a vibrant woman who is a breast cancer survivor made whole again by Steve's care and talent. Had great tattoo work done by Gina. At the end of my session I opted for an adhesive bandage that they offer to wrap my new tattoo. I Was advised not to get it wet and to leave it on for a week as it allows the tattoo to breathe but keeps it protected from friction and bacteria. After searching the internet for a few days to read up on this bandage, i found nothing that shows or explains exactly what this particular bandage is. Only similar products like saniderm. So i called the shop to ask about what it was called and the man who answered replied "what do u need to know that for? It's just something i came up with." In my opinion, that is very rude and unprofessional and sketchy as well.. what qualifies you to construct your own type of bandage to put on people's open wounds? Furthermore, we have the right to know what's going onto our skin. And if u r worried about someone stealing your little basement idea, its been done already way b4 you thought of it Sir. I just wanted to know whats the one YOU use bc all of the others I've seen on the market are clear and this one isnt. Psh. The audacity. Long story short, im due for another session to finish my tattoo, and needless to say, im not sure i will be returning for my second appointment even though i already paid in full for all of the work. But if u decide to get ur work done here, i recommend Gina all the way! I'd just also recommend the traditional sry healing method unless you're into mystery bandages on ur new ink. read more
