When you call to schedule, hopefully you encounter either Sarah or Michelle, who are both so friendly and accommodating in the scheduling process. Even when you call back a hundred times changing times, they never get irritated with you! If you are going for a color and cut, I would suggest the dynamic duo of Caitlyn (colorist) and Danna (stylist). Every time I see them both, I leave feeling like the most beautiful version of myself! Caitlyn is incredibly patient and she listens carefully, no matter how picky you are! She is really gifted with the subtleties of color and she will get your hair precisely where you want it! This spa is amazingly beautiful and so spacious. There is a station for everything - hair wash station, stylist station, color station, massage area, nail room, etc. It's a little piece of heaven. My hair had been train wrecked with "highlights" the previous day at another salon. A friend insisted that I find an Aveda salon to fix it. Studio 59 was so gracious to see me, evaluate the damage, and bring my color back to the reference picture the previous salon was blind to. Shelby treated me with great care and others came to collaborate on how best to address my situation. I felt seen and valued here. With such an amazing visit, it is hard to determine where to start. Let me just start at the beginning...walking in the door you are greeted by a warm, welcoming interior and hostess. The hostess is always kind and helpful. They also offer a selection of drinks--lemon water, teas, and coffee--for while you wait or during your visit. If it is your first time visiting, they also give you a tour of the facilities and answer any questions you may have about services. Today's visit was a salon appointment with Camille. She is a very warm and welcoming person with years of experience to her credit. Not only does she have an amazing amount of experience with hair but, Aveda as well. Not worth it tbh. I appreciate that they were able to accommodate me since I made the appointment the same day but, in the middle of styling me, my stylist had someone else finish my hair because another client arrived ???? Umm ok whatever. Then when she finished, my hair literally felt like when you come out of the shower without rinsing off all your conditioner. I just moved here from Southern California and was so worried about finding a good salon, but I found it first try. Camille is a true artist with hair cutting and styling. I discovered Studio 59 about 2 years ago and have been extremely pleased. I drive a little over an hour to get there but it is worth my time. The services I use are a basic cut and color. Sometimes I just need a color touch-up and I am able to simply blow my own hair dry ( if I want) in a special guest area they have designed for that. The service has always been excellent. They have color specialist and cut specialist and I really like that. They have educated me on products that are best for my hair. My goal is to keep an attractive stylish hair style and stay within a careful budget. I recommend Studio 59 without hesitation. Thank you ladies. read more

Amazing! I had my hair done at another salon and asked for a rose gold, difficult I know, but she said no problem she could do it. Long story short I came out with magenta colored streaks in my light red hair. I was so upset I called Studio 59 yesterday evening and they asked me to come in for a consultation. I figured they would tell me to wait for the color to fade and then dye it dark. Nope! Caitlyn did a color rinse and along with a toner. It is almost completely gone. You wouldn't even be able to notice now unless you looked very very closely. I am truly amazed, I did not think it was possible but I am soooo satisfied with the result. I will be making all my future appointments with them here on out. read more

She fixed my cut so well, I stop to look at it every time I pass a mirror! I really can't believe how she was able to transform it into something I love. Very talented and professional. I wanted a haircut bad,so i did a walk-in. Bad idea. They will give u 2 a stylist who is available, not knowing how much they charge. The stylist i had was the owner, he did a great job, but not until i got the bill. I spent over $100 just haircut,shampoo,blow dry (xtra $),& flat iron. No sign of how much they charge,their website price goes by experience. Its too confusing, & overwelming. If u have the $$ go 4 it. But recommend to make appointment, & ask for prices. read more

I can use only Aveda products; so I use only Aveda hair salons. I moved from Atlanta to this area and made an appointment at Studio 59 because it was a full service Aveda salon. When I called to make an appointment for color and cut, I was told I had to come in for consultation on a separate day first. Now..who has time to take an extra day to do this? This can be done when you go to the Salon. So after 2 phone calls and some emails, they accepted the formula that was being used and I had to send a picture of myself so they could see my hair, which I thought was a ridiculous request. They charged $55 for a first time women's cut, which is way too much for any salon in Chattanooga to charge. They said it was because I didn't have a beginner stylist. I wasn't offered a "beginner" stylist, nor was I told there would be 2 people servicing me. I wasn't made aware that prices varied on the stylist's level of expertise. I had experienced this in Cleveland OH where this is standard practice in an Aveda salon but in no other city. I used 3 Aveda salons in the Atlanta area, and my cut here in Chattanooga was no better than I had received at a regular Aveda salon in Atlanta. The process took much longer than expected or wanted. One of the items on the receipt was HP:Happiness..0.00. Good thing...I was not happy with price versus level of service. So this will be my last trip. I don't have the time or want to spend the money on color and cut that is no more special than any other Aveda salon. I can drive to Atlanta and have my hair done cheaper and spend less time and hassle (even with the drive). I think the higher prices are to pay for the Spa part, which was being utilized very little while I was there, and overhead of the property. read more

This place is the worst! I'm always nervous about getting my hair done somewhere new and this place just confirmed my fears. The people were pretty nice but for what i ended up getting it was away too expensive. I got my hair cut and coloured around november of 2011 and i'm still trying to fix the damage that was done. I requested the most experienced colourist and stylist because i wanted them to do a good job but it was horrible. i asked for some subtle highlights and ended up getting a weird design of nasty straw blonde highlights in my dark brown hair that i've already had to shell out big money every other month to cover. Then the lady cutting my hair told me that my hair was weird so she "fixed" it. When i went to my normal stylist back in Canada he asked me if I had cut it because it was done in such an unattractive fashion and with no technique and said it would take months to get it back to the state i wanted it in. If you want to spend an unnecessary amount of money to get your hair done and pay extra to receive services that should come free.. such as BLOWDRYING your hair.. then go to this salon. otherwise I would say you'd be better off finding somewhere else. read more

The stylist did a good job on my hair cut much better than the Bridge Salon stylist. It was the experience that is nothing to brag about. She gave me a tour and it seemed nice. I then went to her station, the receptionist brought a glass of water and set it on a table covered in hair, no thank you! The haircut was good, she was nice until she quickly pushed me out of her chair with lightly damp hair. I was pushed out of the door because her next client came in and sat right next to me and began talking. He must have been a well paying client. The salon was clean & everyone was friendly. The day I went in it was really quiet which was nice. I made my appointment for cut & color. The salon sends you a text to confirm the appointment and later one to remind you. My color ended up a light brown with some red to it which was not what I had asked for & that evening while out for dinner my boyfriend noticed a bunch of the color was all over my left ear. The place is clean and very nice. The staff were very informative and polite. I enjoyed the services and products I bought. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because the price I quoted was not honored. I wasn't given a detailed bill and gave cash as gratuity at the end. When I got home I called to find out what my itemized cost were and was never given a detailed answer. The reason I mentioned the cash gratuity is because when I called she did tell me that the gratuity was added to my bill. When I gave her the cash for gratuity she didn't mention it was included in the price. I thought that was not being honest.
