This place is amazing!!! It had been more than 9 months since my hair had been touched, primarily because my main salon had suddenly shut down. So, one Friday evening, I was desperate for a cut. I stalked every salon in the area online and made multiple phone calls to see if I could come in as a walk-in. While there were a few that entertained the idea for a moment, I was ultimately turned down by about 8 places. And then I called the Beehive. A woman answered and told me, without hesitation, to come on in. I walked into the mostly empty salon, approx 15 minutes before closing, and was met by a warm smile and friendly greeting. The woman whom I spoke with told me that the stylist that would be cutting my hair was finishing up with another client, but that she would wash my hair in the meantime. Not only did she give me a great wash, but she gave me a SUPERB head and scalp massage. And I mean amazing, beating out similar massages at actual massage day spas. Once finished I was greeted very warmly by a woman names Kim, who gave me a thorough and sincere consultation. She did my cut quickly and perfectly, all the while asking questions and giving me very easily executed pointers. When finished (an hour after closing) she also gave me a book of hair ideas, especially for my hair type, and some product, for FREE!
Then, fast forward several weeks later when I realized that I had failed to schedule a hair appointment for an upcoming wedding I was to be in 4 days later. Panicking, I called the Beehive to beg for Kim to do my hair. The girl on the phone, Leigh, sadly informed me that Kim was completely unavailable that day and that, after some time of checking and researching, every other stylist was already booked for the day. Feeling dejected I had decided that I was screwed and just needed to give up. But then Leigh told me that she was going to call around to some other reputable stylists, at competing salons, to see if they could help me. In the end, after 2 days of trying, she wasn't able to find anyone for that specific day, but I was FLOORED at how kind, thoughtful and helpful this woman was to someone that wasn't a regular client and whom she had never met before. In addition, Leigh later informed me that Kim, the stylist whom I had first seen, is actually the owner/operator. This woman never once acted too busy or remotely above the experience of a haircut after hours, and she also never identified herself as the owner, despite my over-flowing compliments. She was always humble and kind and just the kind of person that makes me feel like I'm in good hands.
This is a top notch establishment that clearly hires top notch employees. I'm telling everyone I know that the Beehive is the place to go. read more
