This was a cool place. I'd never heard of it but my friend wanted to check it out. It's a narrow place. You show ID, then walk up some stairs, then have to ring the buzzer. Then the gate opens and you walk up like 5 stairs. Then there's a curtain and you enter. We got here around 8 pm on a Tuesday night and they said they were full so come back at 10:30 pm. We came back around 10:30 pm and they said they were full!!! But the woman asked if it was just us two and then she said to wait 3 minutes. We were seated at the bar. Last call for food was 11 pm. My friend got a handroll. We each got a cocktail: moonlight mile and the general falcon. I really enjoyed my drink (general falcon) because of the gin. The bartender wasn't that nice. I asked her between those two drinks which she recommends and she was just like "idk they're both good" and that was that. Most bartenders like to chat (for the most part) and offer some kind of opinion... There's 2 single stall bathrooms in the back. This place got soooo crowded with a bunch of 21 year olds (one was celebrating her 21st birthday). It was a vibe and I'd maybe come back again.

I really wanted to love this place as it came on a recommendation. We reserved the chef's counter omakase for $80pp. The omakase was a solid 3.5 stars! We also got extra handrolls as that were delicious. Nothing against both chefs as they were good at their craft I'm sure, though some nigiris had more wasabi than others. However, while I was washing my hands in the bathroom, I almost stepped on a mouse/rat. That was shocking to me and tells me how this business is kept. We also were not drinking but were asked 4x if we wanted to order drinks by different servers. That was a bit annoying. Bar chairs didn't have backs and were quite uncomfortable. I also noticed that they hand wash dishes and I'm unsure if this is the most sanitary option for dishes serving raw fish. Fun retro vibes atmosphere with the deco and furniture.

Unfortunately was a while back so can't remember what we ordered. We got some handrolls, the chef's special, and 2 cocktails. We came on a Tuesday night and it was not busy at all, a bit of a crowd but nothing crazy and a great time to go to catch up with friends or a first date! Everything we ordered was delicious and that toro with caviar????? So good

My man surprised me here for a dinner late. Unfortunately the Omakase table was booked but we still managed to have a good time. One point off due to their management of delivering our sushi. We both ordered the chef's selection but my boyfriend got his first and mine came 30 minutes later. Also the rolls all came at the same time that my bf's chef selection came. The rice cooled by then and wasn't the optimal experience. However the vibes are great and drinks are delicious. Great decor and comfy couches.

I really loved the divey ambiance here, but unfortunately the sushi was hit or miss. I'll start with the positives - I really like how many options they have, daily specials, and the ability to order a full set of omakase or individual dishes. The best thing we had was their uni, toro, caviar handroll. This was really fresh and the flavors were great. The drinks were really refreshing as well. The rest of the fish was pretty disappointing and didn't taste too fresh. The fish - rice ratio was also off with a lot of the rolls, we barely got a full bite of eel in our hand rolls.

The vibe of this place is so good! Good place to chat casually and sip on some tasty beers and cocktails. I recommend this place for large parties because there is plenty of seating! Also recommend for music heads because the playlist was bumping :)

I love this place!!! The vibes are great, the place is super pretty and cozy. The servers are very sweet. The food is just not to my liking, there is not many options for vegetarians which was annoying. And the food is overly priced for someone who is a vegetarian. Make sure to get reservations in advance, super tiny place !!

Delicious!! Got the chef's specials and some handrolls- the toro was the best. All yummy. Great spot for a group of friends or date night. Good vinyl dj and vibes!

Unbelievable otoro, hamachi, yuzu salmon. Not cheap but worth it. Get a highball and some otoro.

SUCH AMAZING SUSHI. OH MY GAWWWDDDD. The tuna nigiri just melted in my mouth. Highly recommended. The service is good and the ambiance is great. Very good vibes overall. It is quite expensive, but I would say the price is worth it.

Great vibe, cool concept, disappointing and borderline offensive service. They were out of most of their appetizers and some of their menu items. Table and seats were wobbly and we immediately spilled our water when trying to sit down because of the unstable seating. Bartender was amazing, very attentive and made the best drink I've ever received. The wait staff is the main reason for the 1 star. After finishing our 5 pieces of over priced sashimi, my friend went to the bathroom and I closed the check. I left a cash tip. As I waited for my friend to come back, the host told me they needed the table for the next reservation and to go sit on the couch. It was a little abrupt since we hadn't been there that long and we weren't aware of a time limit for dining. After I moved to the couch, another host came over with my bill and asked me if I was dissatisfied with my service. I said the bartender was great and I left a cash tip as a thanks. She then told me I needed to revise my bill and add a tip on my card. She handed me back the bill and waited for me to write in an additional tip (on top of the cash I already left)... I thought she was kidding at first but she was not and kept insisting. I was so offended but felt cornered and pressured with the staff member hovering over me while I waited for my friend. Really disappointing way to end what we thought was going to be a great experience.

First Omakase experience and I was beyond satisfied with it! My partner surprised me with this for my birthday since I am a huuuge sushi person. Getting to the actual restaurant was interesting since it's kinda hidden and lowkey. The vibes inside were great and the staff was friendly. Our chef was nice, funny, and made sure to ask if we had any allergies before starting. He also explained what each piece was while placing it on our plate. I absolutely loved each and every piece I ate that night. Full of flavor, amazing textures, and the wasabi in each piece was delish. I believe it was 12 pieces total, and they were *chef's kiss*. Only "negative" thing was that we did have to wait about 20 mins after our reservation to get seated, but this did not affect the night at all!!!

One of my favorite joint in this neighborhood. The vibes are immaculate and the hand rolls hit different as a late night snack.

We are tequila and mezcal drinkers so a lot of places, we've found lately, so not have as big of mezcal selections. This was the exception. We wanted to go to the location that wasn't in such a touristy area, but it was so cold that we didn't wanna walk so we just did this location. The aesthetic is super warm and takes you to somewhere luxurious and almost even tropical with the light shades and all. The bartenders are actual mixologists so if you tell them what you're thinking of, they'll likely be able to execute. Our bartenders were very attentive and enthusiastic in creating the drinks we had in mind. All we had to do was give them a brief idea and we got these wonderful drinks back. I wish I had pictures, but the drinks were flowing and the conversation was so good. We were thoroughly impressed. Great program they're running here, their mixologists know what they're doing!

We sat both inside and outside -- both areas have their own charm. We came with friends visiting from out of town, and everything started off perfectly. I had some non-alcoholic drinks that were actually amazing (which isn't always the case at bars!). After our friends left, we decided to stay longer for some bites, and the food did not disappoint. The pastrami, hummus, buffalo cauliflower, and sliders were all excellent. The service was on another level -- every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and just really professional. Our food and drinks came out smoothly the whole night, and everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy what they were doing. The place itself is beautiful -- stylish but still cozy and comfortable. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design. Highly recommend for a date night, a celebration, or just catching up with friends. Can't wait to go back!

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce you to The Devil's Backbone. A perfectly balanced drink I'll never forget, one that is sipped slowly and enjoyed thoroughly. It's sexy, it's smoky it's sipped. Attaboy gave the best mixology experience and we can't wait to be back. Pro tip: be sure to be as vocal as possible, even with ice, so you don't end up with a tiki drink if that's not your vibe.

He even chatted with us for a bit after to tell us more about attaboy. I'm rounding up to 5 stars but I will say our experience with the "bouncer" was a bit unpleasant. He called us to let us know our table was ready but we missed the call (our fault). We returned the call immediately and got there within a couple minutes anyway. We were ready to patiently wait for the next availability but were met with some attitude and unnecessary comments from him during the waiting experience. Tucked into the Financial District, this spot blends old New York history with some of the best cocktails in the city--and it's easy to see why it's been named "World's Best Bar" more than once. The name itself has a wild backstory, inspired by a notorious 19th-century Irish-American gang from Five Points. It adds a layer of character to the place, but what really keeps people coming back is the atmosphere and the drinks. The space is split into two levels: a two lively, sawdust-floored Taprooms downstairs and a more refined Parlor upstairs if you're in the mood for a quieter, cocktail-focused experience. Drinks are the real highlight here. The Irish Coffee is widely considered one of the best in the world--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with whiskey, coffee, and fresh cream. They also get creative with variations like a frozen version and even an Irish Coffee martini. If you want something different, the "Act Naturally" is a standout, mixing Irish whiskey with Guinness and fig in a way that works. Food is just as impressive for a bar. The lobster deviled eggs (topped with caviar) are a must-try, and the menu leans into elevated comfort food. Overall, The Dead Rabbit nails the balance between historic charm and modern cocktail excellence. The D.R. is one of those places that is never boring and consistently delivers.

I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
