He addressed all our concerns and helped us understand the actual problem and also suggested solutions. He didn't find any foundation work that needed to be done. Our home of 40 years in Hickory Creek has seen the back property line trees really grow in the last 15 years, sucking moisture from the soil on the north side. Consequently, there has been some movement from 1" to 3" of the foundation on the north side. Home contractors are notorious for not properly constructing sufficient depth perimeter grade beams to minimize water migration under the slab and proper load bearing which for single story homes is about 1/4 ton per linear foot. So in 2005, the garage north side was leveled and stabilized by 8 ft deep commercial piers I designed with leveling shims for my home with installation by a good contractor from Denton. The garage was fairly easy issue to solve . I am a professional consulting engineer and have had our on firm for 28 years. The issues for the home foundation that SFR just fixed were substantially more complex. I needed their experience and almost magical equipment to measure the floor elevations all over the house and develop a good repair strategy and to get uniform elevation of the floor. The SFR folks were very helpful, very professional. Crew was obviously experienced and worked hard! My wife, was very pleased that the patio French door functioned properly again, and the gyp board cracks are All closed. Now we can finish home remodel on north side of home. The leveling, has restored the main under floor sewer pipe flow line elevation on the north side for proper flow, another reason to get it done. It will be closely watched for any leaks that may develop. I viewed some of the other reviews, and clearly some folks do not understand how difficult a job it is to fix complex foundation issues with all the hidden unknown conditions, like water and sewer lines, that can be upset with the slab being brought back to proper elevation . The crew foreman yesterday brought my attention to a dribble water stream from my west neighbor's direction as my water meter showed zero flow in two of the new pier excavation holes about 3.5 ft down on WEST side. The neighbor last year, had their foundation work done by another firm and it is now obvious they still have either an under floor water leak or a landscape sprinkler leak that, left un attended, would cause more problems for my home 25 feet away and under the garage. I have a plumber coming out ASAP to leak detect the west side of the property. I mention this because your neighbor's problem can be your problem. I purchased a new home and only within a few months found out that I needed foundation work. I had hired Independent Foundation Engineers and they gave me three recommendations. Structured Foundation Repairs (S.F.) was at the top of the list. I obtained three quotes and S.F. was slightly higher than the competition. However, the sales man Billy Tatum was the only gentleman to go in the crawl space and actually examine it. He found legitimate work that needed to be done with joist replacement and sill plate. The competitors never went under my home. Mr. Tatum was very professional, to the point, and a no bull kind of man. I asked both Mr. Tatum and the competitor why I should hire them. The competitor spent most of his time bad mouthing S.F. and S.F. simply told me what they can do for me, opposed to speaking poorly about the competition. On construction day, the crew arrived early...big points for that! Mr. Julio Camacho was the Crew Chief. He spent adequate time explaining the process of what was going on when adding the five steel pressed piers to my home. We found out later on when they went to re-shim my home that the estimate was not for the whole home, but rather a portion. I insisted on paying the extra $720 to reshim the whole home; however, Mr. Jefferie Ellison the Sales Manager called me to inform me that wasn't how they do business. They waved the fee and stuck to what was best for my home, my wallet, and wouldn't charge me for their mistake. I am one to spend the time to find a great company that isn't the cheapest, but will provide the best customer service, honesty, professionalism, the best product, and bang for my buck. Structured Foundation has exceeded my expectations by going above and beyond. They even cleaned out the leftover plumber's pipes and other debris in my crawl space...that is not their job, but is another way that S.F. has went above and beyond for me. If you are on the fence about which company to choose, I strongly recommend Structured Foundation. The experience was incredible and the customer service was 5 stars from the sales man to each of the men who dug the holes. The owner Mr. Tom Kidd graduated from Texas A&M in 1983. Mr. Kidd definitely lives by the Aggie Honor Code: "An Aggie does not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do." I wish more businesses ran like Structured Foundation Repair. Disappointing worksmanship. I had them come to fix a crack in the foundation where rainwater was coming in. They did the work but the first rain it came in again. Instead of taking any responsibility for it Robert started to come up with excuses and said it would be too costly to fix it again. I needed a foundation contractor to help assess a 1949 home I am under contract on during my option period. Structured sent Chad out and, while he determined the home foundation to be in excellent condition, he still took the time to provide me the elevations and explain the soil in the area and tell me what he saw underneath the house. This gave me excellent feedback to pair with my general home inspector's feedback that day as well. Should I ever have issues with the foundation on this home, Structured will be the first company I call to help me out and the first I'll recommend to any friends who need work done on their homes in the future. read more

Structured Foundation Repairs, Inc. more lies from Structured Foundation Repair. I met their Ops Manager on Oct 7th and after he mentioned the tear down remark I emphatically told him that HIS people said that once they started their tap dance to get out of the work they and their "engineer" had agreed to do. I told him when they said the garage might be a teardown, that I was shocked and offended. What did they do? They turned right around and posted the comment previous to this one. That wasn't the last lie of the day. Their Ops Mngr also said the reason they didn't suggest the additional work (just shy of another $8000 in addition to the $21,000 I already paid) was because that part of the house was fine when they took their original measurements. Total BS: that area of the house has had for the last 2 years a cracked window from the stresses on the home, plus a door so far out of square that it's inoperable plus cracks in the Sheetrock! When I asked him how his "engineer" could have missed that, his response was "the engineers have their opinions, I have my opinions, you have yours, everybody has opinions in this business". I wonder if that will be in their next commercial? The final deception was one that I refused to take part in. I told the Ops Mngr that I would expect a discount on the additional work for everything that had happened. After conferring with the owner of he company (supposedly) he offered a discount that was indicative of how little they care. They also tried to enlist me in their cover up of bad business by stipulating I had to hide my experience with their company by removing my negative review. That told me exactly the kind of company I am dealing with so I'm going back to Brown Foundation (who did an awesome job on my garage) and just want to get my warranty work done on the failing work that Structured Foundation Repair did and be done with them. read more

This sham of a business operates similarly to many other foundation repair companies that have collectively earned a dubious reputation by offering "free" foundation inspections, and then recommending completely unnecessary repairs. When attempting to sell my house, the buyers' lender had a representative from Structured measure my house and concluded that the foundation needed four piers because it was structurally unsound. When I refused and asked them for a second opinion from a paid engineering firm, who did not have a conflict of interest, the report came back totally clean. The independent engineer said he wouldn't even raise an eyebrow until my foundation was three times worse than it was. If this is what the owner of Structured calls following the Aggie Code of Honor, the university should retract his degree and sue him for defamation. read more

They came promptly to inspect the work to be done. They came to the same conclusion as the structural engineer. Once I signed and agreed on their quote, we agreed on a date to have the repairs done. Before the job was done, they sent an independent engineering company that took the mesurements of the "before". The person they sent, Matthew, was super nice and courteous. They called the day before to. Confirm the appointment and were in my house in time. They took care of the permit with the city. Then the work started. What a hard working crew! They worked non stop in the heat to carefully remove any shrubbery that was on the way, dig the holes and install the piers. Then they put everything back to were it belonged. By the time they left, you could barely notice that they had been there. When they were packing and tidying up, the plumbing company came and performed a 30 minute test to make sure everything was fine. Two days later, Matthew was back to take the measures again for the final report. I cannot say enough about how hard these guys worked. Hats off to them. They were easy to work with, reliable and they offer a lifetime warranty that is transferrable if I want to sell the house. I recommend them. read more

It is a shame the yelp felt the need to squelch the other negative review. My experience was very similar. From scheduling to execution this company had nothing but poor communication and excuses. Their office is apparently structured into multiple distinct departments so that no single person feels any personal responsibility for your job. There was absolutely no explanation of the plans or what the repairs would actually entail. They failed to schedule the engineer to evaluate the home until I called 3 days before work was supposed to start. Then they failed to provide me with a copy of the engineer's report. They could not even relay a message with instructions on how to access the property. Once work actually started they managed to jackhammer through two pipes, refusing to accept responsibility for the damage they directly caused, even going so far as to claim they had "found" a leak. I'm sure they find leaks under ever pipe they jackhammer into. They left my home an absolute wreck. I was not expecting to be undertaking a complete tear down and remodel of the house I am living in with my family. That is apparently what they were expecting, since they left my carpet pulled up with tac strips exposed for my children to find. That's a fun time! They left splintered holes in my hardwood parquet flooring. Flooring that cannot really go back down in the splintered holes they left because the cement they put down is not even close to level with the original foundation cement. The furniture was covered in dust. The plants they dug up outside are all dead. This company has been a nightmare from day one and I should have known better. I think all potential victims in the future should have the opportunity to know better as well. I do not often write reviews, so I am certain that Yelp will suppress this negative review just like the previous. Just don't trust the marketing lies posted on their website as reviews. It was a GREAT experience from beginning to end. We had not used this provider in the past, but wanted an assessment of our foundation, and chose Structured Foundation based on Angie's List reviews. Soon after we called an appointment, two reps visited us to inspect the foundation thoroughly and then made detailed recommendations, which they explained in detail. The work was to add four piers to prevent slippage on the west side of our home, (2) remove insulation in the crawl space under the floors, and (3) lift the floor very slightly in a few areas with new shims. The work was done over two days with a hardworking crew of five; Randy was the boss who oversaw the work. Randy listened to and answered all the questions I had, kept us informed about what was going on and was a thorough professional. I'll hire them again for periodic inspections and for any other work that may be necessary (although they guarantee all the work already done). I definitely recommend them. The price was a good value for the critical work they did in such a professional way. read more

Poor experience on both foundation repairs with this company. The scheduling was a disaster, and anytime I called they took a message then never returned my call. The crew that actually does the work didn't speak any English, and the foreman stayed about 10 minutes and left. They damaged my sprinklers and window then said it was not their responsibility. Over the phone they even told me "We are not sprinkler people, you wouldn't want sprinkler people fixing your foundation would you?" What terrible customer service. There are too many other companies in the DFW are offering the exact same product for them to treat people like this. Please spread the word, this is NOT the company to hire. read more
