I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS…read more. Absolutely horrible company, and they bank off of weaponized incompetence to avoid fault in situations they created. They allow renters install outdoor security cameras and screen that have wiring inside both living room and dining room, to include a huge screen inside the dining room, but refused to do anything at all to aide in getting in removed for the homeowners. They're excuses included that they do not outright ask the resident if they own the home because if they reside there they assume they are and make the "assumption" that they are responsible adults that can assume the financial responsibilities that come with damaging interior and exterior of the home and that is not their responsibility. Over the phone it is almost impossible to get an agent on the phone when you don't have a phone number associated with an account number, so that is very telling. When I finally was able to speak to an agent they offered no assistance and again repeated that without authorization from the account number they could not access the account ( I don't need to access the account which apparently is in collections btw I need this equipment uninstalled out of our house) and without accessing the account they cannot dispatch a technician. This company offers absolutely no assistance to homeowners, but is overly willing and eager to install equipment and cameras into a home without proper authorization and protects fraudulent renters with no regard to the exterior and interior damage that has been done that the homeowners inherit, and can't do the smallest courtesy of uninstalling and taking their equipment back. And the people working for the company know it and admit to it from the representative I spoke with via phone and the technician who came to our residence. Do better, it's a SCAMMMM!!!

This has been one of the worst companies I've ever worked with. I am a first time home owner and…read moreonly signed with Vivint because they were the first ones to knock on my door... and I didn't do my homework. 3 days after the installation, I decided I didn't like it and wanted to cancel my service. My sales associate told me "you can cancel at anytime", so I took that at face value. When I called to cancel, however, I was told that I "missed the 3 day cutoff by 4 hours and was no longer able to cancel until your equipment is paid off". This month marks one year that I've been a Vivint customer. Within this year, the equipment has failed, had a short, quit working, etc, etc and a tech has been to my house 6 times. Take note that all 6 of these visits have been free of charge. I returned yesterday from a month long military class out of state and discovered that my front door sensor was broken. I called today to schedule a technician to come fix it, only to be told that I had 2 options- I could either troubleshoot it and fix it myself, or pay $99 for a technician to come to my home. I am not an electrical engineer-and if the equipment messes up after I have "fixed" it, it will be my responsibility not the company's- nor do I get a paycheck from Vivint. Therefore, I will not do the job of a Vivint employee. That knocks option 1 out. As I stated above, all of the other tech visits that I've requested within this past year have been at no charge. Now all of a sudden, it costs $99 for someone to fix a piece of equipment that is literally broken and causes my sensor to no longer work (yet I'm still paying for). I understand that companies change their policies, but MOST OF THE TIME companies will alert their customers when that happens. Also, when I kept questioning the customer service representative that I spoke to how long Vivint has had this policy, her answer was "This has been the company's policy since I've been with them." I also asked how long she had been with the company and never got an answer. So therefore, my home is unsecured, yet I'm paying $2,500+ for equipment that does not work and the company will not score fix it if I don't pay an extra $99. If Vivint can tell me how this practice is good customer service, I'll gladly listen. But they haven't been able to, nor are they willing to. I cannot wait to pay off the balance on the equipment that does not work so that I can supposedly cancel my contract with them! I am actively researching other security companies and will gladly change my service when I'm able to.

LiveWire in Richmond Virginia is not just the type of company that you want to consider for your…read morehome theater needs, but the type of company that we would all like to work with. The difference is their people which start from the top down with Henry Clifford (henry@getlivewire.com) and one of the key people who have joined him, JD Dessofy. It goes beyond prices and service. They care about you beyond what you would expect. Many companies talk about exceptional customer service - LiveWire lives it. Early in 2014, we signed a contract with Theatre Extreme in Richmond, VA to install a home theater in our new home in Chesterfield. We provided funds to Theatre Extreme as per our contract presumably to purchase the materials and prepare for the installation. As we approached the installation time, we stopped by their store front in Short Pump, and found an empty store with a note on the door that they had gone bankrupt and were out of business. We were devastated. One of their former employees, JD, went above and beyond to find some equipment to help to start the installation. We contacted Henry ad LiveWire, and in his compassion and good businesss sense, he and JD worked with us, many times taking no profit whatsoever, in order to help us complete the project. It's comforting when you deal with businesses who keep their word and do what they say. It's rare when you see these companies go above and beyond. It's truly unbelievable to find a company who will put their own interests aside and work passionately to develop a solution to a problem which they did create nor for which they had any responsibility. It's hard to say enough good things about Henry Clifford and JD Dessofy. They are exceptionally good at what they do and even better people. David DeGonia Chesterfield, Virginia
