The best authentic Italian foods in Starkville MS. Outside seatings were super nice as well. Very enjoyable and recommended

    Pepperoni pizza

Every college town has a pizza place that is unique to that town. Starkville is unique because it is a big SEC school in a small Southern town. Stromboli's is Mississippi State's "pizza place". The Pizza: It is a sweet golden crust that has a little crunch on the outside and warm delicate dough on the inside. The red sauce is awesome a lot of flavor without being overly spicy. The pepperoni is awesome. I wonder if they buy it from a food vendor or if they get it from a local butcher. Very tasty. The Place: It is a hole in the wall and I mean that in the most loving of ways! It is a small place with a small parking lot. I must say that I went a couple of times before I finally got in the door. I finally went during an MSU basketball game. When everyone else was at the game. It is a homey place with lots of memorabilia that ranges from 80s music icons to MSU swag. It had a lovely man cave quality. Like most of Starkville, everyone knows everyone...but I was treated like family even though I didn't know a soul in the place. Advice: Don't miss this place. Call in and get a to go order even if they are busy it will not take too long. I've I had been in town longer, I would have been a regular.

Stromboli's is interesting food is amazing super nice staff great asthetic it would be a perfect restaurant but... why is it so hard to eat here . There hours are really short and the restaurant interior is small with only 3 outdoor seats . But besides hours and and size it's great location is also good because it's near the center of town

    Went with a large pepperoni.

I really enjoyed the pizza, but here are some insights that may help. I asked for a side of the sauce since I am the kind of person who thinks that pizza is mainly a medium for getting the red stuff inside. I tried the sauce alone a few times with a cracker, the crust and on a spoon and I swear it has a touch of chili powder in it. Stick with me here, because this works. The crust is very light and reminded me a lot of a simple yeast roll. It is easy to pull apart and a touch sweet with what seemed like some sort of garlic butter brushed on it. This is where the sauce with that hint of chili powder taste comes in, because it diminishes the sweetness of the dough. The touch of spice is just enough to even out the sweetness of the dough. If that hadn't have done it the pepperoni would have taken care of it with its full flavor and welcome lack of grease. All in all it was a really solid pie in a comfortable college pizza joint atmosphere. I will be back.

Yes. Always say yes to Stromboli's! I visited Starkville this weekend from out of town, and this is my go to restaurant hands down. The pizza is amazing - a sweet puffed up crust and just the right amount of sauce. The calzones are also a good choice! I love the speciality options like the chicken ranchero or the fav. The service is always great even when they are packed! Seating is extremely limited - only about 10 or so tables, so it can be tricky to dine in during prime times. But on pretty days outdoor seating is a great option, and they run a special on one topping carry out pizzas. I highly suggest saving room for dessert so you can place an order of cookie dough bites! Cookie dough wrapped up in the sweet pizza dough drizzled with powdered sugar and a chocolate sauce for dipping purposes. Wow! Coming to Stromboli's is like coming home to Starkville.

Calzone with meatball, sausage, and ricotta. On the small size, but tasty!!

Overpriced, but definitely a Starkville staple and the best slice in town. I hope they will expand soon to offer more seating.

No sauce. Dry and the bread is much too sweet. The cheese tastes like plastic.

A couple of other large parties had the same idea and I was glad we made advance reservations. Staff was attentive throughout. The bread service was a very good Italian type bread loaf slices with olive oil. I would have liked some Italian seasoning to add to it to make it even better. For appetizers my daughter insisted on the Fried Mozzarella Ravioli and I wanted to try the Arancini. Both were excellent! My wife and I decided to split the Seafood Linguini and each got a salad. I chose the Caesar side salad and she wanted the Italian side salad. I was wanting to try their gnocchi but that was the 1 item on the menu the server said that they did not have. (Unfortunately I didn't't find out until after I tried to order and had my mind set on it) There was a good amount of seafood but 1 more shrimp would have made it much easier to split evenly. Even sharing we were full especially knowing we had cake waiting for us back at the condo. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their choices as well. I can see why Taste is the go to choice for my daughter and her husband when they want to celebrate.

We sat at the bar because it was just the two of us and I had a French 75 and my husband had an old-fashioned. It was by far the best 75 I've ever had! The bartender was by herself and she was working her tail off! There was not a lot of servers, and it was later in the evening, but our bartender was fabulous! She was also our waitress. Started off with the martini mini board. A variety of cheese, nuts, and meats. It was very good for a starter. Not too much and a fun choice to share. We were not a fan of the dried apricots, but ate everything else. We then shared the pesto chicken flatbread. Crisp and warm. Would definitely get again. It was towards the end of the night and some of the staff gathered around the bar and started chatting with us. We told them we were from Baton Rouge. And got on the topic of football. Fun times and getting to know the staff. Our bartender ended up being in the same sorority as our daughter. It was a great evening. We will definitely be back! And highly recommend! Hail State!

The Entrees: The portion sizes for the Gnocchi, Lasagna, and Fettuccine Alfredo were enormous. You get a massive amount of food for the price. * Note: The execution didn't match the size. There were issues with texture and flavor depth across the main dishes. For example, the Fettuccine Alfredo sauce was watery and bland rather than creamy and rich.
