This was my first time at the new location, it's much bigger than the original one. I was warmly greeted and given some time to look over the menu. They have the best Milkshakes and Burgers but I ordered Cheeseburger and Onion Rings this time. I had a frustrating experience at Stafford's Big Burger. Their posted hours say they're open until 7:00 PM, but when I walked in at 6:40 PM to place a simple to-go order, I was told they had already stopped taking orders. If you're going to stop serving customers before your listed closing time, that needs to be clearly communicated. At the very least, there should be a sign on the door or updated hours reflecting when the kitchen actually closes. It's disappointing to make the trip based on posted hours only to be turned away. Either stay open until your advertised time or be upfront about your real cutoff. read more

Wanted to add a recent review of this side of the road hole in the wall.... You legit walk up to the window to order! Old school AF! They have limited indoor seating and picnic tables for outside dining. There was a steady stream of customers as we waited for our order. We ordered burgers, chicken strips (skip these), fries, cokes and vanilla ice cream. We would definitely stop by on the way to/from the beach again! Also, they close at 4 on Saturday. read more

This place is a great old time burger stand on the side of the highway. Glad i saw all of the posts from other folks heading to the beach. Everyone in our group raved about the service and food. The younger kids and teens all liked it as well. So they must be doing something amazing. I cant ever get kids to all like the same place. read more

I got grilled chicken, chicken tenders, and onion ring; the whole thing was 15 dollars. It was 12:42 when I ordered and a whopping 1:12 when I got my food. It took 30 minute to fix onion rings, chicken tenders and a grilled chicken sandwich. The only reason I didn't leave was because my wife was so hangry as it was. The person behind us got his food first, and his order was bigger than mine. THIS IS A GOOD OL BOY SPOT. NOT FOR OUT OF TOWN PEOLE. PEOPLE FROM THIS AREA WILL GET THEIR FOOD BEFORE YOU. My order was terrible. Didn't have time to look before taking it back to the office, and it was so wrong it was like they thought the ticket was a list of what NOT to do. Ordered a rare cheeseburger with mayo, ketchup, tomatoes. Received a dried out, charred to the point of cremation hockey puck with no cheese, no ketchup and some mayonnaise on the side in tiny cup that looked like it had been sitting out in the open without refrigeration for a month.. translucent and crusty. There wasn't even a ketchup packet. There was one tomato slice. I had to move the burnt and grey puck to discover it. Somehow, the puck was cold. It was terrible. The milkshake was ok, not fantastic. The fries were nothing special. The bill was .. $13 for a burnt, dry, cold and crappy burger I could barely choke down . I have no idea why people are liking this place so much. read more

Passing through on the way back from the beach and read all the good reviews from my fellow Yelpers and it sounded just like what I was in the mood for after a week of seafood. So we ordered up the recommended Philly cheesesteak (we met in Philly when were Navy) and a large cheeseburger basket. It us LGFIT!! The burger and the Philly were very good, both had grilled toasted roll/bun, not fast food funky. The corn salad is awesome, crisp corn and onions, peppers & tomatoes, nicely done. All hail the Mississippi Dairy Bar! Why would anyone eat at a chain restaurant when a dairy bar is in town. I watched my burger get cooked right on the flat top and my milk shake made. Good looking stuff here. My burger is perfect. The crinkle cut fries were crisp, they have the "good" ice for the tea. This place isn't just good, it's worth a detour to eat here. read more

Food was absolutely delicious. I got the butterfly shrimp plate with cole slaw and fries. If I didn't know any better, I would've thought I was at a restaurant on the beach, the shrimp was so good and crispy. Husband got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Stopped here during a road trip and was very pleasantly surprised! It's teeny tiny but the food was delicious. I loved the Philly cheesesteak and curly fries, my husband loved his cheeseburger and onion rings, and my 1.5 yo daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese. I also tried a bite of both the burger and grilled cheese and thought they tasted great as well. We finished off with a couple of shakes, which again tasted good. It's a small town diner feel and easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but the food was great and I would definitely eat here again on my drive back home. read more

If you're looking for more of a home cooked burger then this is the place. When we first pulled up I thought maybe we shouldn't go in as it just looked run down. Our family in the area recommended it so we figured we would try it. Nothing fancy but everything was fresh. Not a fast food place. Red vinyl seats on chrome stools, wood paneling, plastic checkered tablecloths? Probably with "drive-in" in the name. This is that place. Nothing gourmet here, but decently cooked short order meals with good portion sizes. Hand formed patties on a flat grill. Only holds about 20 people at 3 tables. I like a good burger and I got one here. Not a gourmet burger but a good burger like you used to get. Basic and done well. My wife and I both got the large cheese burger basket with emphasis on large when it comes to the burger and the sides. She ordered tater tots and I ordered the onion rings. I bet she was given at least 40 tater tots and they were good. To me the tots beat the onion rings. I will be coming back and I am going to try either the fries or curly fries and a milk shake which is made with Blue Bell ice cream and looked great. Also on the way out I saw a guy with a pulled pork sandwich that looked great. I might try that too! UPDATE: Was riding through West Point again and stopped by Stafford's. Drove from Starkville , Ms to eat at this place upon my fathers great reviews about the burgers. My father and brother both ordered burgers , and I had tots . The tots were good , nothing you couldn't get at sonic I think . The burgers looked and smelled amazing , my brothers finished his double with ease , while dad picked over his , which is just his eating style. MY UNSATISFIED ISSUE , were that I needed mayo and mustard and maybe a spoon , on both attempts to get this items from a worker I felt as if I was bothering one of the young ladies. Great idea to stop here, I love tiny dives like this one. Great food, better than you could EVER get at any fast food joint. Run down, could use a bit of a pick me up, but the food is great, the people are friendly and courteous. The place has a lot of character, that's for sure. You can tell its a local hot spot, but it's definitely a spot I'd recommend to anyone passing through, like us. We travel a lot, and I just love finding little places like this, because they're one in a million! My daughter loved the food, and she's a picky eater! We decided to go to this little local place instead of the chain restaurants down the street based on reviews we read. Burgers were fresh, cooked perfectly, and had a nice soft toasted bun. We had a milkshake made with their Bluebell ice cream and that was delicious as well. On recommendation from the cook, I had the corn salad instead of fries. It was freshly made and a refreshing change of pace. We will stop there again on our way through. Mind you, this is not a fancy or modern restaurant. Think of that Guy Fiori show...DDD.
