Absolutely awesome place. The restaurant itself is a really cool place but the food is amazing. Staff was very nice and made sure I was taken care of. As a truck driver it's also very nice that they give us somewhere to park and take a break from typical truck stop food. I'd love to have gotten a slice of pie but I didn't have anywhere to put it. We must've passed this place 100 times on our trips home. We decided to stop in last weekend simply because it was open and we were hungry. In the future, we'll plan our trips so we'll pass by it around mealtime. My hubs ordered fried crawfish tails as an appetizer for us to split. For his entree, he ordered the ribeye sandwich. I opted for a hamburger steak. Mine came with a salad that happened to be loaded with the best bleu cheese dressing I've ever had. It had gobs and gobs of large chunks of bleu cheese! The hamburger steak was humongous. My hubby's ribeye sandwich was incredible too! I know because I tried it. It wasn't your average sandwich. The onion rings were delicious too. Not that we were still hungry after all of that, but the pies looked so good that we had to try a slice. We devoured every last bite of the made-from-scratch chocolate meringue pie! The meal was inexpensive and was way above average. The service was friendly. This seems to be a great place for travelers, truckers and locals alike. We'll definitely stop in again! read more

I called in advance to ask how late breakfast was served. Was told 12:00 We drove 40 minutes, arrived at 11:40 and we were told the owner had decided to cut off breakfast at 11:00. We thought this looked like a good place to eat so we stopped for breakfast while on a road trip. The parking lot was pretty full and a lot of big trucks pulled in nearby, which is usually a good sign, so we went in. Very cool ambiance (picture old-style diner) and the staff was friendly & attentive. However, after a 45-minute wait, we were informed that our food was taking so long because the kitchen was so hot, the cooks were having to take a break! The food was good but not worth writing home about and certainly not worth that long a wait. We probably wouldn't eat there again. read more

Had our first visit to Tin Lizzie Cafe tonight. My cheeseburger was very, very good. My husband's pork chops were out of this world fantastic. I tasted them too. We highly recommend the grilled pork chops. They were moist, flavorful and well seasoned. That is hard to do with pork chops. And have to give really high praise for the Texas Toast as well. At most restaurants, Texas toast is an unremarkable side item. Not here. Perfect. It's really impressive when an uncomplicated menu item stands on its own and is done perfectly because there are no embellishments to hide under. They really know what they are doing in the kitchen! The fried okra was perfect...another All Star! He also really enjoyed his Lemon pie dessert. Service was welcoming and really good, too. We will be stopping here whenver we go through West Point. read more

I've always wanted to stop here for breakfast and today we finally had a chance to on our way to NOLA. It was as good as I had expected. We were greeted when we came in and waited on fairly quick. We all ordered breakfast and it was delicious. I had the 2 egg classic breakfast with gravy. My daughter had pancakes and they were so fluffy and so good! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The restaurant was clean and the decor was very interesting and eclectic. The young lady that checked us out to pay was very sweet and personable. We will definitely be back soon! I've been eating at Tin Lizzie for years, ever since I went to school at State. Me and my friends would make the drive up to West Point on the odd weekend morning to have breakfast here. I graduated two years ago but returned to Starkville to visit some friends and HAD to go the Tin Lizzie. It's just as delicious as it's always been and the service is still just as friendly. I ordered the Classic Breakfast with scambled eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, and biscuits. The biscuits are huge and buttermilky, the sausage is smoky, hashbrowns are crisp, and the eggs wonderfully fluffy. The Tin Lizzie tradition continues for me. read more

I have eaten at Tin Lizzy a bunch of times, but this evening was the worst meal/service I have ever had there. I ordered from the breakfast menu. They forgot to bring my grits to the table that I ordered, and when they got there after having to ask for them, they just were warm... and lumpy. The bacon was precooked I think, as it was hard and hard to chew. My friend ordered pancakes with strawberries. Got the pancakes, with nothing but butter on them. Had to ask for the forgotten strawberries that were ordered, and then also had to ask for some syrup. This is my worst experience at this restaurant after many trips. read more
