I didn't have a good experience at this restaurant today. We were there an hour before we received our food. They were busy so that wasn't my issue. After we ate, I waited for the waitress to come over so we could ask for to go plates and our ticket, but she never came back to check on us. I finally went to look for her , didn't see her so I asked the other waitress for the plates and my ticket. By this time our waitress came out of the kitchen and I told her we had been there almost 2 hours and I was needing the plates and my ticket. Her reply was "it's on the table" and I told her she didn't tell me. I went back to the table and it was on there, however, it was under the bread basket. I proceeded to the checkout, and that cashier was rude, no personality. They don't have to worry about me ever coming back. read more

went based off of previous yelp recommendations while shopping in columbus, we both ordered the hamburger steak but wished we ordered the burger, our steaks were good and topped with gravy and onions ( but the gravy was a small serving). we were ok with that bc we both ordered the small steak. it took a while for our food to come out of the kitchen but when served it was hot and fresh, the restaurant is very casual and was a perfect spot for our lunch. we seated ourselves bc we were not greeted. soon enough a waitress came by and handed us a menu. she seemed a little put off by us, maybe because most diners looked to be local and probably knew the routine. service was definitely the weak spot of this location and i would recommend you give them a try. just go in like you know what your doing, order a burger and don't ask any questions. read more

I ordered a grilled cheese and tater tot's, my husband order a hamburger steak and baked potato...two hours later the food came and it was mediocre at best. we told them that we had a church service at 7:30, I got up and left. Decent little diner in an older part of Columbus. The place was packed even on a Tuesday night so I took it as a good sign. Its a walk in and take a seat wherever you like kinda place. They were swamped, but only had one waitress covering probably 20 tables. She was a little slow getting to our table to take our order, but we still had food within 10-15 minutes of sitting down which I thought was pretty impressive. Got fried pickles as an appetizer. They were served with ranch and were nice and crisp with a good seasoning. Some of them may have been a tad on the too crispy side, but I thought they were good. For our meals we all got the large cheeseburger with fries. If you are kinda to moderately hungry, I would go with that size if you are in a burger mood. The double would have been way too big. Hamburger was pretty good. Liked all the extras... nice crisp onions and lettuce, but the meat could have use some more seasoning and I thought the cheese was lacking. The bun was good and had a nice sweet hint to it. Almost like those King Hawaiian rolls. Overall, this is a nice little hole in the wall, outta the way local place where everyone is friendly and the food is pretty good. I have eaten many times here in the past, and in the past was mostly satisfied. Last time my daughter and I ate there in August 2024, I ordered the Philly Steak. I got it and the bread was cold, and had not been pressed on the grill like most Philly Steaks I have eaten are done. The fat bun over whelmed the sandwich. In the past, I have eaten their burgers, but did not think much of them. The fries another time were not hot and were mealy as they were not cooked long enough. They have had great Onion Rings each time I have ordered them, I know longer order fries there.... but that will not carry a meal. It has gone down in putting out quality food recently. They need to realize you cannot depend on your past history/name... you have to put out good, hot food.... work on that Philly Steak.... as it is done now it is not a Philly Steak.... Another thing, when we went to check out, there were about 6 people waiting to pay, and there was one man checking people out, and he was also taking orders on the phone while checking people out. Maybe they were short on help that day, but it was very slow getting out of there. If help was the problem, get backup help to call in during problem times. My lady got the grilled chicken sandwich and baked sweet potato based on the waitress' suggestion. She liked the taste of the sandwich and thought the potato could have done with some sugar or nutmeg. I got the burger and mac and cheese. The burger was under seasoned and had very high fat content. The mac and cheese was not good. It tasted like it was from a box of off brand. Finally, the prices were not reasonable. The food quality was low and the portions were small for the price.
