Been eating here past 20 years and the food is always great at a good price in a nice setting. Service has always been the best but couple weeks ago we had over an hour wait with an early seating time with not alot of customers at the beginning. People were actually coming in eating and leaving and we still waiting on our food. Wife had chicken strip plate and I the grilled chicken salad with cheese sticks. Didn't seem to bother the waiter as she said they must be just cooking a lot of chicken tonight. Food was good and we tipped her well. We waited 45 minutes to be seated, to then be told we were 4 minutes too late for brunch at 2pm. On the menu online it said brunch ended at 3pm, so we didn't push to be seated faster. The only reason this has 2 stars is because the staff was very nice. I was doing a DoorDash order and had arrived around 12:03 pm. By 12:22 I still had not received the order. We are expected to arrive at the store and to the drop off location by certain times. A 20+ minute wait in store for a take out order (especially a delivery order) is absolutely unacceptable when you are literally losing money every minute that passes. read more

Ok. Took my wife and daughter-in-law to the Grill in Columbus Ms. on Mothers Day for brunch. However for some reason the restaurant did not offer the regular brunch menu during their brunch time. They offered an extremely limited brunch menu( only 5 options) on the day of all days to offer brunch. Why? no one could explain. The water tastes like it came from a garden hose. The soda was flat. The initial wait to be seated took about 35 minutes. They were upfront about the wait time, and we had no issues with the host staff. After being seated, 30 minutes passed with our waitress barely acknowledging that we were there and she took the order of another table that had just been seated. The manager had to come and take our order. The waitress popped over a couple of times apologizing, but she never actually waited on us. We didn't truly have her attention until it was time to pay the bill. The white BBQ chicken nachos were by far the best food of the evening! The ribeye was very bland, and the tenderloin skewers were extremely tough. We asked for steak knives, but never received them. The sweet potato tots were good. The gouda jalapeño grits had a nice flavor but were too undercooked to eat. Our daughter was pleased with her mac and cheese and fruit. My wife's blackened catfish came out burnt and had to return it ! I think they take blackened to another level LoL ! My mother n laws steak was not well done , had to return it ! My burger was not what I expected, it was small , you would think it would be the same size as the bun, it was chard on the end. The French fries were like I cooked them in our air frier at home. We haven't' been here in a while, stopped by last week and again today. It's like two different places. Last week everything was great, today, Meh. My wife order the rib eye, Med Rare. It came out med well, and was really thin and gray looking. I put my fork beside it and it was 2 1/2 tines thick. You can't cook a steak that thin to order, well done only. I ordered the egg rolls, last week they were great, today, Meh. Had a slight burnt taste to them, I'm guessing the oil needed to be changes. This place has a good menu, just isn't consistent. Came here for a date night. Got the salmon and sprouts. They were fabulous! I actually had a lot of left overs too-- which didn't last long as I ate them later that night after I got home. I'm only giving 4 stars because we sat at the bar to get drinks and also eat and I didn't find the bartender to be very friendly. I guess that's to be expected when seated at the bar though? However, the other waitstaff seemed to be very nice and professional. Food was good. Overall good first experience. read more

The menu descriptions of the food made me excited. The execution was lackluster. Greasy fingerprints and spills on the plate. Honestly the French toast looked like I had made it at home for my child. The hash browns, which I asked for crispy, were soggy. The fresh fruit was placed directly on the plate, so it became warm from the plate and heat lamp. Just disappointing. My husband and I ate at this restaurant twice during a recent short trip to Columbus, MS. It was conveniently located not far from our hotel. Both times the service was very good. The first time I had their signature ribeye steak sandwich. I'd say it was just ok because the steak was a little chewy/tough. The second time I had a salad with grilled chicken and it was good. 4 stars because the is my go to restaurant. You could never be disappointed with their Bayou Chicken. The house salad is like no other. Their spring rolls - to die for. But lately, it's been a hit or miss. I've gotten old lettuce (once) maybe a month ago and tonight, i ordered a well done hamburger, and woah and behold. Red in the center. The outside tasted like some kind of charcoal or gas, whatever they use. I really love this place and hardly ever does it disappoint but I mean.... I can't deal with raw centers.
