The rice part was fine. My son-in-law decided to try the fried catfish I had been considering. While cooked well and had good flavor, the batter was not the expected cornmeal style normally associated with fried catfish. They were also out of the particular beer he had been wanting to try. After multiple attempts to pick one from the menu, the server said it might be easier to show you what we do have on tap. Service on this visit also left a lot to be desired. From the delay taking the order, having to flag a server down for drink refills and even to get the check. It was not busy enough to cause the service we received. We had been before with my daughter and wife and had a much better experience. So I am not sure if things have gone downhill or just an anomaly. The burger I had on the previous visit was very good and the Rosey Chips (house made potato chips) were pretty good too. My daughter is a big fan of their fried pickles appetizer. Will. Gas is not cheap, and I am a poor teacher. No one offered an apology or resolution beyond a simple refund. Yet again, I live an hour away. Customer service suggested "Oh it's sitting right here. Just come back and get it." They truly acted as if it were my fault that the items were left out and I was inconveniencing them. (My bad. I guess I should have counted each individual item as we loaded them into my trunk-yes. WE. I always get out and help! * Poor product quality: The fresh produce I receive is often moldy or spoiled, which is unacceptable. Not once. Not twice. But every single time I order strawberries they are covered in fuzzy mold. * Customer service: The pickup employees are frequently rude and unhelpful, which only adds to the frustration. I have been a loyal Kroger customer because of the convenience and quality I've come to expect. Unfortunately, this location is falling far below that standard. He was constantly checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We started with the chips and queso. It was good, but nothing to write home about. Just your normal chips and queso. I had the catfish lagniappe and it was SUPERB! I loved the blackened catfish over the grits with the yummy crawfish sauce.
