The Kroger gas pump will steal your money. Be very careful I tried to fill up and the man told me the pump was broken after I had swiped my card and it wouldn't work. Later tried to cancel with the man and he said it was broken when I got my Kroger bill. They had billed me $55 for gas and one of his friends/customers had come up and stolen the $55. And filled up at my expense. Kroger's gas will cheat you. read more

First off, I love Kroger. I have always been a huge fan of Kroger especially Starkville Kroger. I have no idea what is going on with this location, but I am so very disappointed. Over the past three months, I have consistently experienced problems that make shopping here frustrating and unsatisfactory. * Pickup delays: On multiple occasions, my scheduled pickup orders have not been ready until the following day. This is a problem because I live an hour away! It is frustrating to make it half way to the store only to receive an automated text stating my order will not be ready until the next day! Gas is not cheap, and I am a poor teacher. I mean seriously, just turn off the pickup times once you reach your limit for that time slot! * Missing items: Once, I drove all the way home only to discover that 20 items were missing from my order. No one offered an apology or resolution beyond a simple refund. Yet again, I live an hour away. Customer service suggested "Oh it's sitting right here. Just come back and get it." They truly acted as if it were my fault that the items were left out and I was inconveniencing them. (My bad. I guess I should have counted each individual item as we loaded them into my trunk-yes. WE. I always get out and help! * Poor product quality: The fresh produce I receive is often moldy or spoiled, which is unacceptable. Not once. Not twice. But every single time I order strawberries they are covered in fuzzy mold. * Customer service: The pickup employees are frequently rude and unhelpful, which only adds to the frustration. I have been a loyal Kroger customer because of the convenience and quality I've come to expect. Unfortunately, this location is falling far below that standard. I am asking that Kroger address these issues promptly and take steps to improve the pickup service, product quality, and customer service at the Starkville store. I hope to continue shopping with Kroger, but unless these problems are resolved, I will be forced to take my business elsewhere. read more

Outstanding! When we visit Starkville, we go to this Kroger. The atmosphere is pretty friendly, we have seen a man sitting in between the plant nursery. The inside is safe lots of produce, great staff. Outstanding home delivery. Love this Kroger. read more

We love our local Kroger, especially since they remodeled. Their deli section expanded to include a Starbucks, sushi kiosk, salad bar, cheese station and the blue plate hot bar. I've only had a bad experience with staff once. The produce section is kept stocked throughout the day. The meat and seafood section has great employees. The florist is a little expensive for my taste but they have lovely flowers. 3 self check stations with 6 units in each station along with their staff checking people out. They offer check list at our Kroger, I've not done it myself but heard good things. Use your Kroger card and receive fuel points to save money on gas and receive coupons in the mail. Use the online app to add coupons to your Kroger card.. one complaint is that I get no reception in the store so it's difficult to add coupons while shopping. read more

Now this is what a grocery store is suppose to look like. Stocked to the rafters, huge varied selections, lots of helpful employees...they got it all. I was enjoying just walking around looking at everything even if I wasn't going to buy it. If you want to see what a junky Kroger looks like, go to the one in Columbus, MS. This is a huge newly renovated Kroger with almost anything you need in food shopping. The staff are friendly and helpful. They will help you find anything and remember you from previous visits. Watching the sales, I am able to get many things cheaper than Wal-Mart and stock up. The fuel discount points and customized coupon mailings are excellent bonuses. read more

Produce section at Starkville is embarrassingly bad these days. Rotten food for sale. Empty sections of produce. As bad as the local Walmart selection. What a shame. read more

I've been shopping at Kroger for nearly 30 years and I'm sorry to say it's about time for me to leave them and go someplace else. The younger clerks are in need of customer service training, for one thing. They seem to have very poor attitudes and little to no work ethic. I had a cart full one day, and since there was a couple of people ahead of me in line of the ONLY regular register open, she told me to go to the Express Lane. Well, the clerk in the Express Lane refused to check me out because I had too many items. So she sat and picked at her nails while I waited in the other line. Needless to say I was angry, and asked the girl if she would turn into a pumpkin if she rang up too many items. She was nasty to me. I could name other incidents, but for brevity's sake I won't. Immature, poorly managed staff is not the only problem. Kroger consistently stops carrying items I use on a regular basis. Happens all the time. I find a product I like and begin buying it. I've learned to STOCK UP, because they likely won't carry the item for long. I've discovered items that were out of date, after I got a bottle of sandwich sauce that tasted bad and discovered it was SIX MONTHS out of date! When I went back, I pointed it out to a stock boy. The next week when I came back, the expired products were still there. Not acceptable!!! There aren't a lot of other options in this dismal little town, but there ARE other options. To be fair, the older staff is mostly great. They work hard and are nice people. read more

Love, love, love the new remodel for the Kroger in Starkville! It's so much better than the giant Kroger in Madison, which is my usual Kroger. We were in Starkville a couple of weeks ago and had to pick up some produce on a Monday morning and the produce department was already fully stocked! That NEVER happens in Madison! Kroger in Starkville is an excellent grocery store. Their produce is always fresh, and their staff is extremely helpful, especially Derek Young. His customer service is incredible. He's been more than happy to help me every time I stop in. I would recommend this store to all of my friends. read more
