Stripper Stains and Supplies Inc is a tile, paint, and general hardware store that has been in business at least since 2014. I lived in the area since the 1980s have seen many hardware stores open and close over the years. Stripper Stains and Supplies is a more recent addition to the neighborhood, which sells tiles and paint, but also other hardware products like drill bits, miscellaneous plumbing supplies, fasteners, and other masonry products. I often pass the area when going to Napoleon's or the Bed-Stuy YMCA and noticed that the business's facade mentioned that they make keys.
Today, I needed to get two replacement keys made for a basement lock. The gentleman working at the store was cordial, made the two keys quickly and even tested them in the lock to ensure that they worked properly. The total cost of the keys was about 3.00 dollars, very reasonable. the keys were high quality Master Lock keys, too. The shopping experience was excellent, and I will definitely do business here again if I need keys, plumbing pipes or maybe fasteners and do not feel like making the trip to Home Depot or Citi General Hardware. The business's name "Stripper Stains and Supplies" makes it seem as though the business only specializes in paint and paint removal supplies, but this is untrue, and the name may cause potential customers to visit the store only if they need paints and tile products.
Stripper Strains has a reasonable assortment of general hardware. The company would benefit from a website to advertise their products and services so potential customers are aware of what options they have. I think there is a Facebook page, but I cannot verify if it is current. I definitely think "Stripper Stains" is a solid company but it needs to market their products better to potential customers, especially those in the neighborhood. Stripper Stains is a gem in the neighborhood, but does need a better marketing strategy. A slight change to the business name such as "Stripper Stains, Paints and General Hardware" would make a dramatic difference. Otherwise, I highly recommend Stripper Stains and Supplies. read more
