It wasn't something I expected and it was completely different than all other acupressure massage places. Typically a 30 minute massage covers the entire backside to include full upper and lower back and legs. The entire massage consisted of mostly upper back/shoulders and neck. My legs were not touched so it feels like an incomplete massage. The prices were higher than what is here on yelp. Additionally, there is a surcharge for using cards. I will not be going back that's for sure. One last thing...it was too hard to communicate so to the language barrier and even when I tried, they continued to talk to other massage therapists during the entire massage. read more

I've come here since before Covid, on the recommendation of a friend, and they have been the best deep-tissue massage therapists I am have encountered in Phoenix. They tend to go heavy on the massage, but you can tell him to soften it up, if you feel it's too rough. Have usually got a full back massage of a minimum of 30 minutes. That's all I need. I don't recommend this place if you are a woman. There is a language barrier for sure but this doesn't mean staff is allowed to cross professional boundaries. I went to get a massage and was touched inappropriately. The masseuse crossed boundaries when he went under my shorts and into my thighs. I have never felt so uncomfortable, my body knew that type of touch was NOT OK. Going under the towel is NOT Ok! What's worse is I still had to pay and was asked to tip for the unprofessional service. Will NEVER return here. read more

Came because I had nothing better to do and wanted my feet and neck massaged. I selected, I think, the 10 min chair massage and 20 min foot. As good sales men do, they up sold me to a table massage and a longer foot massage; ok, no big deal. Started with the feet. Was ok until it wasn't! Started to become a little painful as evidenced by my pulling away. And don't get me started on the back. He didn't seem to know anything but DEEP PRESSURE, using his elbow the entire time! When I got up everything was tender, and this lasted a few days. They have certificates on the wall saying they are licensed massage therapists, but I think I'd challenge that. The amount of pressure seemed excessive and unsafe. After the service when I went to pay they tried to MAKE me leave a bigger tip. That, I didn't appreciate. I'd come back for my feet, however, I'd advise anyone to pay a little more money to get a REAL massage at a massage studio. read more

I have been having shoulder pain for about 4-6 weeks and when it flares up oh my damn it is painful. Well due to the cooler weather the pain has been a little more harsh and it has be spreading down to my elbow and even my hand. My wife went to Christown Mall like two weeks ago and noticed that this place was here and she has been on me every since for us to go try them out (especially since our go to place at Metrocenter has closed) so today I finally did and boy am I glad that I did! Look, I don't know the guys name and there is definitely a language barrier but I told him that I was very tight in my left shoulder area and he immediately said table massage. I chose the $35/30 minute session and it was amazing! It was totally worth it. Now the massage itself was very painful at times but that was because I was so tight and had alot of knots so I suffered through it because I knew it was very beneficial to me. The masseuse did ask me if I was okay and acourse you can always ask them to ease up but again I just went with it because that is how tight and knotted up I was. I am a grown man and I almost cried during the massage (LMAO) because of the the relief that I was getting trust and believe I will never allow myself to get that tight and knotted up again. The prices are very fair and I will definitely be back again and again. If they do that great of job on the back then I can only imagine how great a foot massage would be! read more

This place was awesome. I'm 46 & had a few knots in my back. I asked for a deep tissue massage ($40 for 30 min). He went in w his elbow and it felt amazing. I didn't realize how tense I was. This massage could be painful for some but it was just what I needed. I also asked for a foot massage ($20 for 20 min) & a facial ($20 for 20 min). I had a lot of aches and pains. Meaning 95% of the massage was fabulous and 5% was painful. Since I rarely get massages it was worth every penny. read more

I actually took the advice of other reviews and they were right on point. Walk in deep tissue, very little English. But my lower back pain was gone and the individual who worked on me hit some trigger points never before touched on with other massages. No one mentioned anything about the punch card and I had forgotten all about it but I grabbed a business card off the wall by the checkout and low and behold it's the punch card on the back. Sure, you won't get the full spa experience here, but they sure get the knots out. Gosh, I remember a time I was getting a chair massage and the mall kiddo train went by! But let me tell you, what you do get is a deep tissue massage and no appointment needed. A lot of the time I get off work and have a stiff neck or aches and pains. These guys get right to the pressure points. They don't mess around. I have done their chair massages, the face massage and also the foot and leg. All were excellent and well priced for what you get. So I figured hey if he is going to charge me 20 dollars for a 9 minute massage when it's supposed to be 15 minutes I guess 2.00 tip it is . Um... NO is all I can say about this place after today. I've gone here once before but it was a very different experience than I just had here today. I went in trying to explain that my upper back and shoulder hurt and they insisted on "full body". There was a language barrier so I just went with it. The guy took me in the back-back to a room I didn't even know was there. He had me lay down on a table (clothed) and began the massage. From the moment it started I felt his groin touching the top of my head - yuck. He was super rough which I expected from my experience last time, but even when I asked him to lighten up five or six times, he still was really hurting me. When he got to my arms he began this technique where he sat down in a chair next to me and rested my palm on his thigh! I was so creeped out. He was pulling my arm towards him and I think my fingers touched his groin area! I actually looked up to make sure he didn't have his dick out or something. He also kept massaging my butt - I don't remember telling him my glutes needing attention but whatever. When the 30 min was finally over, and I reluctantly went to pay, the guy INSISTED that I add a tip. I told him NO in several different ways and he got very upset that I did not tip. If I'd known that getting the 60 minute bed massage would be nothing but repetative back torture, I wouldve just gone with the less expensive chair massage. My spine hurts. I've never been massaged in a way that made my bones sore. During the session there were moments I couldnt breathe. The guy spent 90% of the time just jabbing his elbows into my back, over and over. Elbow to back bone, elbow to back bone, repeatedly. I couldnt relax, trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt that this was supposed to be good for me...I'm writing this post 48 hours, and I feel nothing beneficial. This is the best hour long massage I've ever had! Fu is so strong and really worked on getting into my muscles and relieving tightness. This massage reminded me of the one I got in Korea. Not private or particularly quiet but the massage was excellent. It's a firm massage which I prefer. I imagine they would have toned down the pressure if I would have asked. For $60/hr this is a steal. I have paid double and walked away disappointed. I'll for sure be back. I've been here a few times now. I've always had the same guy who is a bit rough but at the end I feel much better. Today, I had a different "masseuse" if you will. I'm not sure he is licensed or knows what he's doing (I've only seen one license hanging but 43 different people working on massage). The massage was sort of like a massage you get from your boyfriend who doesn't want to give you one. He gets really rough trying to get you to cave and say he doesn't have to massage you any more, but you hold your breath and bare it, only to find he's annoyed and doubles down with his elbows. Yeah. It was like that. Elbows grinding on my rib cage, punches to my arms, and pinching of my neck. The karate chops at the end were actually nice. Those felt good. Anyway, I now have a headache and my shoulder/neck feels worse than it did before I went in. I'll give this place another try but will stay away from today's guy. read more

So I have been here 7 times or so.... and for some reason have never reviewed it. Um well... they have a punch card *yay* When you get 10, you get a free massage for whatever the average amount of minutes your card has on it.... for example, 5-15 minute massages and 5- 45 minute massages would get you a free 30 minute massage. Usually I just get the 10 or 15 minute massage and am good, but it had been a while since I got a massage, so I went for the 40 minute massage for $36. 20 minutes chair massage and 20 minutes food massage. According to my boyfriend who was there with me, the guy went for longer than 40 minutes.... usually places try and be cheap and do less time. Not here.... I should probably add the fact that this is inside of the mall... their store is right next to the Walmart, but they also have a kiosk next to the Costco food court, outside of JC Penny. I usually go in the store, but today's massage was at the kiosk... but it is the same people, they just alternate between the two. But great massage-- if you like a massage where it may hurt slightly while they do the massage but after you feel so much better... so if you're looking for just barely any pressure then this is not the place to go. read more

I have had severe muscle spasm that other modalities were not able to relieve, but the guys at Stress Away managed to get the KNOTS completely out, and all for a reasonable price. These guys are the best. I've been to plenty of other places, but nobody can compare. My teenage son even loves getting foot massages there. He has Asperger's (high functioning Autism) and he never refuses to get his massage there. It calms him down when he's feeling anxious. They go above and beyond with other massage places do.
