Very good food... But very long wait, at least for the food truck that comes to OSU location near the medical center. Their burgers are probably one of the best I've had for food trucks. The burgers are very thick, nicely seasoned, and you can get a fried egg on top for just $1 extra! And i can only finish half of my food. The sweet potato fries with the street thyme seasoning is unique, and it makes you just keep eating. They are probably my favorite thing on the plate/ tray. The wait is looooong... I think I waited for about 10 mins to get my orders taken, then another 10-15 mins to get the order. And this was past 1:30pm when the semester has ended already. The chicken sandwich i had was very dry and there was not much sauce to make up for it and only 1 pickle slice. Am I glad I read the paper saturday morning, dispite the rainy day I could not/would not let the chance of the earth day celebration with tons of food trucks lined up pass up! So I bared the nasty weather and Street Thyme was by far my favorite truck! The people working are great, the have a short but innovative menu that perfectly suited my tastebuds! In honor of earth day they had an herbavore burger and let me put as many toppings on it as I wanted....oh lord that means I went for the sauteed onions, mushrooms, peppers, pickled cucumbers, arugula, basically I told them I want them all! All burgers are double, even the veggie and are $8 which is a bit steep. Also since the double pattys are the size of a McDonalds double. I don't eat meat so I don't care, 2 chickpea and lentil pattys, loaded with veggies and all of their sauces on the side along with an order of BBQ tots was enough to reallu really make my day. Seriously, this was the best meal I've eaten in weeks, the tots are tossed in BBQ seasoning and fried extra crispy, the veggie patty and topping so full of different flavors, truely unique. My husband had the regular burger, which was also great, fresh good quality meat on a huge, buttery toasted bun. The sauces all to die for~ Spicy ketchup, fresh and tasty with just a little kick, curry joghurt, light and yummy, sriracha honey aioli, need I say more? Went at the Food Truck Roundup, definitely not the best way to experience this truck, or, frankly, many of the others (crammed into a park, overwhelmed with customers, unable to sell drinks so customers have to wait in two more lines for that...) So... although the 45 minute wait for 2 burgers and tato tots sucked, and almost caused us to leave (or go off on somebody,) I'll try to just review the food. We had a California Dreamin' burger (two thin patties, lettuce, guacamole, tomato, jalapenos, etc.) It was a very solid burger, and the veggies were fresh. Next we had the apple brie burger; same two patties plus thin apple slices, brie, and bacon. Pretty good too; I wouldn't call either burger stellar, and at $8 they were on the pricey side for the size and flavor. I had their Special Burger of the day: Fried Mac & Cheese Double Burger with Applewood Smoked Bacon and BBQ Sauce. This is probably the best burger I have ever had. Their beef patties were juicy and thick. The fried mac & cheese with the bbq sauce and bacon flavors all mixed together made this one amazing concoction. The burger is also HUGE I might add. One burger will fill you up. Don't think about how many calories are in this burger, it is worth getting for the gourmet experience! The girl standing out front to take our orders was very helpful, polite, patient, and nice. She explained what the different burgers were and didn't rush us. We got our food quickly after ordering it. Make sure you follow them on Twitter as they often have text or twitter coupon deals. My first visit to Street Thyme was at the new Dinin' Hall downtown in Franklinton. Since they were setup with a special Cinco de Mayo menu I went with the flow of the day and ordered roasted pork tacos and strawberry mango milkshake. At the Dinin' Room I paid inside, scored a seat and only waited a few minutes and my order was delivered to me. Two well stuffed white corn tacos full of porky goodness and nice mix of flavours of toppings and sauces complimented it well. My only complaint were that each taco used two corn shells that immediately split as I try to pick them up. Oh well, these were tasty enough I didn't mind diggin' in with a fork and eating them open face but this would have been a mess if I had to stand around trying to munch this. The Strawberry Mango shake was very good, flavoured nicely without the fruit overpowering it. Perfect for a warm sunny evening and to top off a food truck party at an awesome venue for it. Overall for my first visit to this foodie truck I am a Cappy Hamper and look forward to giving one of their burgers and other items at one of the local Cbus venues they are turning up at. Give'em a try if you see them around, ya won't miss this big Green truck in the crowd! read more

I ordered the Cajun Flame burger on a whim while getting drinks at Seventh Son. I was immediately impressed by the quality of the burger from the first bite. The highlight of the sandwich was the patty, which was expertly seasoned and had a uniformly crisp lattice around its edge. The remaining toppings-- lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and an aioli sauce--were fresh and well portioned. One of the few detractions from the meal were the sadly under seasoned and overly soggy fries that were paired with a diminutive serving of commercial grade ketchup. Stopped at Street Thyme at the Art Festival today. Polite quick service was more than expected! The menu seemed pretty abbreviated today. 5 sandwiches and 2 specialty dishes. No sides. Didn't bother us. I got 'Today's Special" Brian O. got the "High St. Double". Both were $8 which seems on par for gourmet burgers. They came out quick and looking good. Turns out all their burgers are double. I took my first bite and WOW! It was so juicy and well seasoned all around. The brioche bun was absolutely a game changer. The toppings were good too. Unfortunately my burger, which was said to have bacon was served to me with no bacon. It was good enough it didn't need it, but wth, why say it on the menu and then not make it happen? Anyway, it was a really enjoyable burger. I understand why they'd want two thin patties instead of one thick one for efficiency, but I do think juiciness and flavor of the beef was lost in the thinness of the patty. The Thyme aioli was an awesome touch. But, the real star is the bun. MMM brioche buns!! I hope next time I go they remember all the toppings and have some sides available. I caught up with Street Thyme at the Columbus Arts Festival today. I was actually really surprised more food trucks weren't there... all I saw were this one and Mikey's Late Night Slice. The other food vendors all seemed to be the typical fair food. Big opportunity missed. Anyway. I usually get the "spicy thing" on any new menu I try, and in this case, it's the C-bus Sweet Heat. Positives: The beef was juicy and delicious; the bun was buttery and perfectly toasted; and the pepper-jack cheese and toppings were good. Negatives: The toppings didn't seem to be what I ordered. My burger was supposed to have red peppers, onions, jalapenos and "sriracha honey aioli," which sounds delicious. It did have some sort of sauce, but I didn't get any sriracha taste from it. It didn't have any of the veggies listed, but instead had pickles and arugula. The pickles were good, but there were only two of them, and although I love an arugula salad, I'm not sure it totally worked on the burger, as the strong flavor overpowered everything else. Now don't get me wrong. The burger was delicious, and I was more than happy to destroy it in a matter of seconds. It just didn't quite live up to its description on the menu. And, at $8, it was a little bit costly. On the other hand, my wife, who rarely eats beef, got the Spring Street Shroom and loved it, and she thought the arugula complemented the meat well. This is a top notch food truck. It's not quite what you'd expect--it's actually good food. 90% of the food trucks I stop at are crappy street meat that I want because I'm starving (i.e. drunk). I stopped here at the Arts Festival and got one of the best burgers I've ever had. They weren't offering any sides, which was disappointing. A quick look at their menu tells me they have some buffalo tots--man those woulda been yummy. But, from what I was told, the Arts Fest people have strict rules about putting trucks next to each other that sell similar items--so it wasn't their fault. They did take a while to make, I was able to walk around, come back a few minutes later, and then still had to wait a bit. But, considering the circumstances, I couldn't care less. read more

Went to Seventh Son yesterday and Street Thyme was there serving. My wife had the burger with avocado, bacon, cheddar, jalapeno, lettuce, BBQ (minus the tomato) think it was called the California Dreaming. I had the mine garnished with mushrooms and swiss (minus the lettuce and tomato) and a side of fries. One of the top burgers we have had, period. Flat top cooked, juicy, fries were hot and crunchy. The couple who run the truck even brought out the food to us. I never give out five stars and you can't give out half stars, but this is a definite four and half stars. Great job. read more

This review speaks more to the service provided by Street Thyme rather than the food, this might be more helpful for someone planning a wedding or other catered event. My fiancé and I have been contacting multiple food trucks around Columbus to cater our wedding in May 2013. I can't really even say how many we've contact all together, but its A LOT. Most people have been very quick to get back with us at first, saying things like, "We do weddings all the time!" and "We'd be more than happy to cater!". However, when we tried to actually set up times to meet with people, it was nearly impossible to get anyone to commit to a time and place to let us sample items from their menu and ask detailed questions. When I first contacted Street Thyme asking if they cater events, I received responses by email AND phone right away, and it was clear they were truly eager to work with us. Other trucks urged us to come visit them during the day when they were open for lunch - most trucks operate between the hours of 11a - 2p around the campus and/or downtown areas during the week (now that we're getting into the colder months). We both work in Westerville, so driving downtown in the middle of the day just isn't an option for us. Street Thyme offered to meet us on a day/time that was convenient for us, and that alone was almost enough to make me want to book them on the spot! We ended up meeting them on a Wednesday night; it was freezing cold and already dark outside, but their Chef, Josh, couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. So about the food - in only a few short minutes, Josh served my fiancé and I 4 burgers and 2 milkshakes, all of which were delicious! I'll apologize up front for my descriptions of the food, I don't recall exactly what was on all of the burgers. But here is a general idea of what they served: "Traditional" burger - with tomatoes, onions, arugula, and some sort of yummy condiment/sauce, I think it was aioli? Bleu cheese burger - bleu cheese, onions (I think), bacon, and other toppings I can't remember (sorry). BBQ bacon burger - lots of bacon, bbq sauce and cheese Sweet Heat burger - onions, peppers, cheese, and sriracha aioli Seasoned tater tots Apple Pie Milkshake Oreo Milkshake Everything was AMAZING! I can't even say which burger I liked the best, they were all so good. They were pretty big, I'd probably have trouble finishing one on my own. Each burger had two patties that were on the thinner side - kind of reminded me of the patties you'd get at Five Guys or Steak and Shake - which were perfect. The tater tots were amazing, as tater tots tend to be. The apple pie shake was actually very good, despite my initial reservations, but the Oreo shake was my favorite. They were both topped with whipped cream; the apple pie shake had graham cracker crumbs sprinkled on top, the Oreo shake had Oreo crumbles. As with the burgers, they were pretty big and I wasn't able to finish one on my own. Also, Josh explained that they obtain many of their ingredients locally; they get their meat from Carfagnas and I believe he said they get their buns from Klostermans (not 100% sure on that). I knew from reviewing the ST website beforehand that they offer vegetarian burger. When I mentioned to Josh that at least one of our guests is vegan, he said they can easily make a vegan burger by making some small adjustments with the toppings/bun. He also mentioned that they'd be more than willing to create any kind of custom burgers or shakes that we may have in mind, they can offer hors d'oeuvres, and can provide beverages (non-alcoholic). We also asked if they'd be able to provide someone to man a drink area where we'd be serving beer and wine (rather than serving drinks from the truck), and he said they should be able to cover that too (he did specifically say they can serve alcohol, but cannot sell it, as they do not have a liquor license). All in all, I was incredibly impressed with Street Thyme. Their willingness to accommodate our specific needs exceeded any other trucks we've reached out to (the one exception being Pitabilities - they were also extremely helpful and friendly, but they're already booked for our date). read more

Insulting vegans is not the way to win hearts. Saw Street Thyme food truck at the Creekside Jazz and Blues Festival and was attracted to their Herbivore burger, a chickpea and lentil patty with curry yogurt sauce. When my friend asked if it was vegan, the two workers told us that it would be vegan without the sauce and without the bun, but that it would then have no flavor. We knew the sauce would not be vegan, but we questioned the bun. We were told that they had "tried the vegan buns but they were too expensive and had no flavor." Huh? There are several problems here. First of all, Street Thyme is telling me that their food is flavorless without a bunch of sauces on it. To me, that says they don't know how to cook or that they just don't care to try when it comes to the veg patty they offer. Also, anyone who does not know that "vegan" bread is nothing special, as most bread IS vegan, does not know food. But, I guess anyone can buy a food truck and slap a bunch of toppings on top of a burger to give it some "flavor." In addition, the attitude put forth by the workers was condescending and snotty. The implication was that vegan food is not good, which is RIDICULOUS, especially given that EVERYONE eats some form of vegan food whether or not they realize it. And, as someone who is very knowledgeable about food (probably more so than these jokers), a good cook, and totally flavor-focused, I did not appreciate this at all. If you are going to advertise veg food, then you should not be surprised or irritated when people ask you questions about it. Word of warning to the vegan-hostile businesses out there-- we don't only associate with vegans! We DO tell ALL our meat eating friends about how you treat us. You may not care about my business, but I am guessing you care about theirs. Might want to think about that before you are unnecessarily rude to another vegetarian. UPDATE: Since Yelp only published Street Thyme's response to this review, I feel it important to point out to the reader that what I am relaying here is what I was told by the people working in the food truck-- it is not made up, nor is it merely my own interpretation. It is also important to note that Josh C. is deflecting blame. He refuses to take responsibility for the actions of his staff and is trying to frame the issue as simply a matter of my preference. In reality, he is missing the point. The point is about the way my friends and I were treated as potential customers. It is apparent to me that Josh C. has an attitude about vegans. It is apparent in the snarky little joke on the menu that offers bacon for free on the veggie burger, in his response here on Yelp, and in his private dismissive response to me, directing me to a link to a blogger's review of his veggie burger. He is not interested in understanding that this has nothing to do with the veggie burger, but with the service. Service is EVERYthing. read more

Had the herbavore burger at the Dinin' Hall Columbus Underground Eat Up.There were 3 trucks to choose from: Street Time, Pitabilities, and Ajumama. I went with Street Thyme having previously tried Pitabilities (and liked them) and did not feel particularly Korean this evening. The herbavore burger was nice but needed more spice for my palate. The curry sauce that it came with was tasty but mild. Fortunately they have a ketchupy hot sauce that did the trick. At $7+ it was a touch pricey for a food truck burger but certainly worth it. The folks running the truck were really nice and next time I'll add more veggies to it- I had it straight off the menu tonight with no additions. read more

Street Thyme came to our workplace and I was so excited as I've had them before. Unfortunately, they only offered their burger menu and not what was advertised online. The lady cashing out customers hair was everywhere not pulled back or in a hair net. She then proceeded to top burgers with no gloves on along with the prep staff not wearing any gloves. Food safety concern as all raw uncooked food is to be handled with gloves per sanitation regulations, certainly not serve safe certified. At least the food was okay, mediocre at best. I was the only customer and was surprised by that; but I don't think it was advertised it was going to be there.
