We had a pizza social here for my daughters birthday party tonight. I made reservations a week ahead of time. When we arrived my totally easy going husband went to the counter to place our order and was immediately given major attitude from the (owner???) older man that wears glasses behind the counter. I walked up without knowing he'd been given attitude and finished ordering the pizza. All the while this guy in glasses is acting like I'm the biggest pain in his ass. He was so completely rude. I finally asked him if he was in a hurry or something (the restaurant was empty). I told him that I thought I was being a huge inconvenience to him. He said no and got much nicer, but what an ass! Regarding the pizza........YUCK, YUCK and a triple YUCK. My recommendation, got to Pizza Hut next door. Their stuffed crust pizza is out of this world and they are friendly to boot. By the way, I was laying down about $150.00 for this pizza social. You'd thnk he'd be grateful to have the business on a slow Wednesday evening. Oh, sorry one last complaint. We could not order drinks for the kiddies by the pitcher and ended up paying $1.40 each for 20 kids' drinks. 2 words - pizza nazi read more

They've done a great job with the change in management! Kudos & thank you. My family used to only order pizza from one of the other places in town but after trying straw hat we've switched to now only ordering here. They're so friendly, it's clear they're happy to have your business. The pizza is great & priced good. We will be repeat customers for sure! read more

LOVE THE REMODEL .. Its Bright and literal big screens everywhere. Super Fun, Fast , Friendly service :)

Came here for the first time last Saturday for the UFC fight. They have about 30 70-inch TV's. which means there is not a bad seat anywhere in the Restaurant. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced. Spoke with the manager, really cool dude. I'm looking forward to coming back for the NFL playoffs and future UFC/Boxing events. read more

Best pizza in Gilroy, hands down. We haven't tried other food items, but we are very happy with their pizza.

Straw Hat is one of the best pizza places in gilroy! The location is big and enough room for the whole family! The beer and pizza are great prices and affordable! The employees have great customer service. I recommend checking this place out. read more

This is probably one of the best pizza places in Gilroy. Ever since they reopened with new owners this has been the go-to place. They have two huge party rooms, about 20 72 inch Flat screen TVs (which is the most TVs I've seen in any restaurant) the owner Raj is soooo nice and supports the local Gilroy community. Also, on Tuesdays they have half price menu which is the best part. I definitely recommend Straw hat in Gilroy. read more

Straw hat has been in this location for as long as I can remember. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. 1/2 off on Tuesday (dine-in or pickup) is always worth it. The pizza tastes great with fast delivery. read more

I really enjoy coming here with my family. There's plenty of entertainment for my daughters & the food is really good. The garlic parmesan twist, wings & pizza are a must try! They have a awesome lunch buffet M-F as well. We always receive great customer service. The owner is so sweet, always says hi / ask how we've been.. remembers my daughters & I when we come in. Definitely the best pizza spot in town :) read more

Always GREAT pizza, service, and atmosphere!! Awesome members of the community! The cauliflower crust is amazing and great gluten free option! Perfect for parties, take out, or dining in. Never have been disappointed. Oh and the lunch menu is awesome! And there's nothing like a hot hat sandwich...so goood!! read more

Love this place! Good pizza, good wings, plenty of screens for football games and plenty of arcade games for the kids!

Took my students here for lunch. Salad bar was clean and tasty, and the pizza was a hit. Raj was a great host. The room was fun and clean. We will definitely be back. read more

This place has really good customer service. And the food goes out really quickly. I love this place especially on Tuesdays they have 50% off any king ruler size pizzas. The owner is also really good and respectable They do have two stores but I recommend the one on San Felipe because there is dying in there. I love this place they keep it clean and they keep it available for parties. read more

Can only rate the service and pricing at this point because it's taking forever to get our food. The owner is an asshole and has no clue how to deal with orders. I'll try to comment again and rate the food but not sure at this point if we will even be eating here. An hour is way too long for pizza. read more

I love what you guys are done to the store bringing more things in for children to do and play on and made it more a family-oriented place have a salad we can go back and have seconds on at a reasonable price to thank you so much for this I really do appreciate it on your pizza is really good too I definitely will be keep coming back read more

Last night we ordered a king size pepperoni pizza for my kids & a cauliflower aloha chicken pizza for myself and my boyfriend. I normally don't look into the pizza boxes because there is no need to check it out because the crew always does a good job! I get home and holler to my kiddos that dinner was here to come and eat, as I was serving them I was like STOP!! This isn't what I ordered, as I call back to Strawhat the gentleman asked me what was the number underneath the pizza box & it was "16" then he rechecks my order & he said I apologize for that and come within 20 minutes and we have your correct order ready. I thanked the gentleman & then I asked him do I bring back these other pizza I had he said no because they were touched and I'm thinking they would toss them Forsure. All I can say is that I was very pleased that they on it making our order and it happens everyone makes mistakes but I happy they fixed it with no question asked nor having to pay again for the pizza's!! Thank you Raj & your crew for making things right, Strawhat pizza is the way to go in my books!! read more

If you want to watch sports ,drink beer and eat some good pizza this is the place .Excellent customer service at this location. I recommend this pie joint read more

First off, let me preface this review by stating that this place is better then Pizzahut's, Little Caesar, or Dominos garbage pizza. A higher quality cheese could be used especially on the price they charge for pizza. I think they are charging for the quantity of dough, the taste and quality of the dough are not that desirable. The dough is cardboardy. In fact the pizza has some after taste that needs to be fixed. Aside from the cheese and dough, the sauce was pleasantly decent. The toppings were also of decent quality. The a Italian sausage was par for a decent pizza so I was happy there as well. The mushrooms were very small but tasted good. The veggie pizza had good toppings. The salad bar was good. A final note. The wings and ranch sauce were both very good. In fact if I went back, it is for wings, not pizza. The wings taste much better than the wings at Wing Stop in my opinion, plus at a better price. read more

In Gilroy this weekend and decided ro give the place a try. Nothing special about the pizza, it's almost had the taste of a frozen pizza. I ordered just a basic pepperoni pizza and was definitely disappointed with the amount of toppings. Overpriced for sure. Customer service was just ok, seemed like they just wanted to rush you out. Not even a greeting from the employees. Best pet of the visit was the atmosphere. The TVs were on and there was several kids playing on the arcade games which were up to date and very clean. Next time in gilroy I'm sticking to the franchise chains. read more

So far the best pizza in town! The customer service was amazing. Be sure to stop by and meet the owner, a really great guy. Great place to bring the kids and have parties there. Overall good place to be with the family! read more

Thank you so much for taking care of our first responders and being something helpful and positive in a moment when positivity is hard to find. If it was your store, you guys are amazing. Those kids are learning priceless acts of kindness. When the community needs to come together, it's no longer about business, it's about family. read more

This pizza is not good. It's fast food pizza (dominos, papa Johns, Pizza Hut etc) quality but nice pizza price. I live in SF so I'm used to high-prices pizza, but it usually comes with better quality. Also, we added garlic, assuming it would be fresh because of the price and the fact that we were in gilroy. But no. It was the nasty jarred minced garlic. I've never had bad pizza so it's not like I couldn't eat this, but I wouldn't go back. read more

Really great pizza and amazing garlic bread twists! Will definitely order from here again.

This pizza place is amazing! I really like how they have a vegan menu. My favorite is the Lemon Pepper Chicken pizza. The ingredients are super fresh. I have yet to try their pastas and sandwiches, it seems like they're great as well based off the other reviews. read more

Great pizza and great new owners. It is very clean on the inside with about 30 huge flat screen tvs. The only pizza place I will dine at in all of Gilroy. Half off Tuesday's are great! read more

Pizzas are half off on Tuesdays! Tried this place for the first time yesterday and my wife and I both liked it. They probably have 20 big tvs and a good tap selection of 15-20 beers. read more

This pizza passes the test. I got a small pepperoni, bell pepper, and mushroom, and it was tasty. They didn't put on too much of anything (like sauce - I hate when there is too much sauce). Speaking of sauce, the sauce was good as well. No fake-tasting ingredients like at a Domino's (oh my... did I just go there? Yes I did.). Tuesday's are half-off pizzas anytime of day, so be ready for savings and crowds! It looks like everyone has their birthday party on Tusdays in Gilroy. (Well, there aren't many other places to celebrate it here on a 100-degree day...) read more

I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but I have to say I was disappointed with Strawhats pizza . The issue is the dough, which you would think would be somewhat consistent from restaurant to restaurant I hate frozen pizzas as they typically are bad, and the dough on this pizza tasted and looked like a frozen pizza. Maybe the Dough is premade or frozen when delivered to their Restaurant ?? but it sure didn't have that Fresh quality. Other ingredients were fine, but since the Dough is 60-70%of the pizza it was Disappointing ! See what you think! read more

Went out there for the Boxing fight Mayweather versus McGregor what a beer selection 29 beers on tap wow I loved the atmosphere with all the TVs I think 27 wow The staff was really cool and awesome very clean a restaurant if you haven't had a pizza from then you should go and try and be loved it thanks Strawhat Pizza for a good time I could give you guys five stars plus sorry there's no more options read more

When in a few days ago. You seem to change every time I go in pretty clean and modern looking. The beer selection was off the hook. Order the combination Pizza I was surprised that it looked really good, pizza was full of toppings they didn't skimp. Kids had a good time watch the game good place for the family. read more

I'm so happy to see this place renovated! It's always been a family friendly place but now it is equally appealing for adults. With so many large screen tv's you can watch your kids anywhere in the place and still see the fight or game. And the beer selection is impressive! read more

Best pizza in Gilroy that I have tried. The prices are very reasonable and the pizza is really good! Must try!!

First time here and fell in love with there pizza. Staff is really friendly. Also love the lay out of the place. Screens everywhere you turn. I'm definitely coming back to this spot. can't wait to be there for the fight this coming weekend. read more

I have been too so many pizza places but Straw Hat pizza is the best place so far in terms of food, customer service and overall experience. Stop by last week with family and it was the best experience ever!! Highly recommend!! read more

So up until recently I have had a pretty good experience here. I used to come in with my family every week during lunch time and the owner knew us and was always friendly. I love the lunch special prices and the amount of food is pretty good. The salad bar could use some more options but overall not a bad little place. However the reason I am taking away a star is last week I went in and was really disappointed all around! I left there angry and almost in tears. First off it was night time and the people working were ignoring me to text and laugh while speaking to each other in Spanish, granted I was on my phone but I had put it down to talk to them. After a few minutes I asked them if they had something similar to the lunch special, as I didn't want a whole pizza. She informed me that I had to order a full size pizza, without so much as suggesting another option or trying to work with me. I guess I am spoiled because the owner has made substitutions for our family many times (since some of them are vegan). Fine, I end up getting a medium which was only like $2 more (or something like that), the salad bar and I also ordered there wedges. On the front counter there was a sign advertising 1 pound of fries for $3.99 (I think) the wedges were like $7.99 but I assumed I would get the same amount of food. WRONG! When the order came there was literally 8 wedges inside. When I questioned her about the fact that the container wasn't even 1/2 full she said, "that's how many come in the order" and then walked away to talk to the same guy to continue the conversation I had apparently interrupted. While staring and pointing and LAUGHING at me or at least in my direction, they continued to talk to each other in Spanish, making me feel uncomfortable. I spent almost $40 in their place and I left in damn near tears and shaking from anger and humiliation. Not to mention I felt like I was ripped off for the amount of money I spent and the little amount of food I received. I have been there many times, and since my family enjoys going there so much I will probably return but only during lunch hours when the owner is there. It's very disappointing too because I really dislike Pizza Hut's service and prices and we order pizza a lot. I was hoping to replace it permanently with Straw Hat. read more

1/2 price Tuesday and childhood memories is what makes this place whats up.

This place continues to improve its game. They have NFL Sunday Ticket and NBA League pass.. never seen a pizza place with such kick ass facilities.. arcade games for kids, a wide variety of beers on tap, even the restrooms are beautifully tiled and well kept. Have an electric vehicle or plugIn hybrid? No problem... plug your car in across the street in the shopping center! The place just rocks. read more

I ordered chicken garlic pizza through phone since i can't get out of the office and i also am not from Gilroy and since I am more of a gourmet pizza person, I think their pizza was not so bad at all. I had one for delivery and it was kind of a long wait. Also I think it is a little pricey for a non gourmet pizza parlor. I had a small one for almost 20 dollar. Since it is my first time to ordered their pizza, i had to say it was not a bad experience at all. read more
