Margherita pizza

This pizza was fine but nothing special. We ordered for a large group so I was able to taste quite a few of the different pizzas. The margherita pizza was probably the best, the sauce was really flavorful and it had a nice amount of cheese. The autumn pizza with a butternut squash sauce was very bland, it could've used some sage or thyme to brighten up/add any flavor. The amount of sausage on it was also really disappointing with only about 5 small chunks, I would've expected more given the price tag. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat the pizza here again, but no pizza is really bad pizza, so I would eat it again if it were given to me.

Delicious pizza from a food truck! We were picking up our race bibs for The She is beautiful race in Santa Cruz & they had a few food trucks available to try out. Daughter picked pizza of course. All sizes 12", options of mushrooms & sausage, Veggie, meat. We chose a pepperoni pizza. Not able to do half and half. They give you a device to pick up your pizza. Took about 15-20 minutes. We shared & ate the entire pizza. Yummy.

Beautiful new food truck

I have distinct pleasure of being the first to review this awesome new food truck servicing the Santa Cruz area and beyond! My first taste came at Steel Bonnet brewery tonight and the pizza was excellent. My friend and I ate one (the Caronte), then another (the Sestola), then I took one more home to my wife. I'm a self proclaimed pizza snob and I loved what they had to offer... The beauty of a food truck is they can deliver to the ambiance, my favorite brewery with awesome pizza, YES! Owner Samuele came from Italy as a piazzolla and has worked locally at a premier pizza joint in the Seabright neighborhood. His recent exploit is this mobile kitchen serving up solid pizza's from a brand spanking new purpose built food truck and he calls it Mattia Pizza. My first taste was the Caronte, San Marzano tomato sauce with mozzarella cheese, handmade sausage, and spicy salami. I offered to share a slice to my friend and he quickly ate half that pie! The conversation halted as we both devoured that first pie but slowly came back around as we discussed (him) buying another pizza! Next we split the Sestola, San Marzano tomato sauce with mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, hand made sausage, and parmesan cheese. Once again it got quiet as the next pizza disappeared. So good, the crust is perfect, soft and gooey in the middle and crisp on the outside. Just enough toppings and sauce to bring the flavors out but not drown the crust. A perfectly balanced treat for the culinary soul! This was only my first experience with Mattia but I look forward to eating their awesome creations again soon. Look for them at a brewery or other fun spot around the Santa Cruz area and? Definately give'em a try!

Mattia pizza catered our rehearsal dinner and they were such a delight to work with! They were so responsive, flexible, and professional. They really went above and beyond. Most importantly - the food was amazing and so gourmet! They set out the most beautiful charcuterie spread that had so much variety and fresh, high quality ingredients. The pizza of course was also delicious! The Gorgonzola, pear, and honey pizza was a crowd favorite. The food was plentiful, and they were so on top of replenishing the table with fresh, hot pizzas. We also opted for their fruit tarts and bomboloni for dessert which were so yummy! Our guests raved about the food. Letizia and Samuele are also just the sweetest people. I would book them again in a heartbeat, and if I see their cute green pizza truck around I am definitely stopping by!

While the food looked amazing to eat I was abruptly interrupted by an unwanted guest (a hair) found at the top of my plate I can't imagine the food safety is managed here if this is something that can occur on a weeknight. Be wary of your food before eating. Training in hospitality and food safety would go a long way at this establishment.

Everyone seems to dislike the HOllister truck/ location, so maybe give San Martin/Morgan Hill a try. I think 10 dollars is a bit much for a sandwich, but it's nice to spoil yourself once in a while. I do give kudos for those who try and run a good small business. I don't interact much with the people running the place, but good for them for doing what they do. Provide good food!

NEVER have I seen any business that contributes to traffic and car hazards than this company while it sells its expensive-food at the Hollister Farmers Market. Each week I would pass by the farmers market and see people illegally parking, getting out of their vehicles to walk into the farmers market to buy for this place. You would think that a business would care more about pedestrians and families (and possibly their own customers) then the dollar bill, and tell their customers do not create hazards when you park but this business unfortunately does not and seem to so that and -my opinion- plays the part and "acts clueless" of the hazards that they are creating. i will not promote or buy from any business that produces hazards to the community and seems to not care about doing so! Not now, not ever! Pretty sad and somewhat shameful, too, that their customers, who park illegally to buy from this company "also seem to care more about buying food from this expensive company than the well-being of the people in the vicinity and do not care about the unsafe hazards that they also are contributing to, and that's is not only shameful, it is embarrassing for them. Makes you wonder what's going on in their head to feel that is the right way to act/ park. Which leads us to the Hollister police department who seem to "turn a blind eye" to all the traffic violations and hazards downtown. Like, get of your A, quit eating your donuts, and do your job, or quit! Overall, they are a few people to blame here, and all 3 of these groups, all get F- grade on Wednesday for being decent human beings, company owners and policy enforcement! I say this because I (and countless people also have) have seen this behavior and nobody enforcing the law outside barriers of the farmer's market. This puts everyone listed on notice, if someone ends up getting hurt because this continues for another 28 weeks next year, someone, starting with the police who did not enforce anything, let them be the first to be sued/meaning the city of Hollister (unfortunately) pays out, and ALL the police salaries get cut and The police chief fired to make up the difference and hopefully this buisiness ban on that truck at the farmers market. (Saw the same hazards this company brought last years farmers market, too. Shameful!

Also Station 55 was grilling BBQ ribs outside and there were a couple of local stores with merchandise tables. The food was OUTSTANDING!!! I had a chicken curry burrito and caramelized pork belly fries from 3Brothers catering truck. We also had a BBQ tri-tip slider. The food was delicious, fresh and hot. The crowd was mellow, mostly families and couples with children. It starts at 5pm on Fridays. Things are in full swing around 6pm and it was packed by 8pm. Definitely something to check out in Gilroy, we will be back for sure.

We went there, grabbed our order, and headed over to Daisy's Bar to enjoy it. We walked in, and the other people at the bar started talking to us about our food (because Daisy's is that kind of place!) "Is that from the food truck?" "Oh, they're the best!" "My favorite is the Al Pastor." It seems that all the locals in San Juan Bautista consider this THE place to go for great Mexican food. It's a typical "food truck" - though in this case, it's actually a trailer. It seems to be a permanent installation. They have a big tent with tables and chairs if you want to eat there. There is also a small stand in the same lot selling AMAZING churros, warm and fresh. The truck has a big menu, so I ended up eating there the next night as well. I tried their tacos with carne asada, and they were really, really good. Everyone at Daisy's said that the al pastor is the best, so the next night I went back for an al pastor burrito. Have you ever had a meal that you knew was too much to eat, but just couldn't stop? Yeah, that's what happened to me. I kept telling myself, "I'll save some of this for later" - and then it was gone! They have a red sauce and a green sauce. The red has some kick to it. If you don't like things too hot, get it on the side. The green is milder, but still has a little heat and lots of flavor. The people were really friendly, and service was quick. Prices are good, and the daily specials are incredible. I got four tacos for $6. Apparently this was once a "cash only" business. They now have a cardboard sign taped up saying they take credit and debit cards. Pay in cash if you can; for small businesses, the credit card processing fees add up. There are other good places to eat in SJB, but this is now my go-to place.
