Last Friday, my spouse and I were deep in one of those "we are absolutely not speaking ever again" arguments. You know, the kind where someone brings up something from 2017 and suddenly it's a documentary series. Anyway, in a moment of desperation (and hunger), I ordered a large pizza from Pizza Mia. When it arrived, we both tried to stay mad... but then we opened the box. The smell alone forced a temporary ceasefire. One slice turned into two, then three, and before we knew it, we were arguing again--but this time about who got the last slice. Somewhere between the pepperoni and the cheese pull, we started laughing. By the time the box was empty, so was the argument. After deciding to try another pizza place in Watsonville (sorry Cassidy's, we will be back next time!), my wife and I decided to try Pizzamia, another local, family owned pizza joint. We came on a Wednesday around noon, and there was only a few families eating. It is a counter order, and they bring your pizza to you at your table. We ordered a medium pepperoni/mushroom pizza, which ran us about $16, which is quite comparable to other pizza places. They also do pepperoni by the slice (around $3), which they have available every day. Our pizza came to us in about ten minutes (great, fast service), and it looked good. A few notes about the pizza: 1. The crust and bread is a little thick, so if you're not into that, then I would choose somewhere else. 2. They put the cheese on top of the other toppings, so the toppings and cheese easily slide off or come off in large clumps, which can get annoying. 3. The pizza was not that flavorful; the sauce could have used a bit more seasoning, and the pepperoni was not that flavorful or spicy at all. The cheese was good and plentiful, though. Overall, the pizza was decent, but nowhere near the best I have had, but also not the worst. I would probably stick with Cassidy's (another family owned pizza place in Watsonville) or somewhere else. However, it was decently priced and great service. Just a quick note: they do not have fountain drinks, but have a couple large refrigerators with dozens of drinks to choose from, including soda, tea, water, and vitamin water. read more

Make sure you call ahead of time to order. We walked in to get a slice of pizza. They only do slices of Pepperoni, but you can't bet $2 for s slice of pizza. It is very very greasy so make sure you get a lot of napkins. I asked for a lot but he only gave me a few. I had more in my vehicle and literally used about 20 for the grease. They told me it would be 4 minutes for the slices, which ended up actually 16 minutes. They are a very busy place, so order instead of walking in. The pizza was very very tasty. This is the place to go if you are looking for really good tasting pizza. They stick to the basics for toppings and combinations. The dough and crust are really good. Service is quick, prices are reasonable. The pizzas are greasy, but what do you expect when you are eating a slice of fresh from the oven goodness topped with cheese, pepperoni, sausage or whatever else you choose to put on your pizza. Pizza Quality: The dough is always soft and hot. It's cooked all the way so you'll NEVER have undercooked dough. They use quality local ingredients that are baked into the dough and give it such a rich flavor. Their pizza will hardly have grease. This is probably the worst pizza I have had since moving to Watsonville two years ago. We tried to get delivery, since Yelp shows they deliver, and one of their photos says "We Deliver," but, no, no they don't. I will credit them that the pizza was ready in 20 minutes, so there is that. The sauce, toppings and cheese were so skimpy, I could see about 50% of the crust, through the toppings.
